I was a SB driver and We had a no child left behind button that you couldn’t bypass and a chick I know managed to overlook a sleeping teen and she pressed the button some people don’t see them kids because they really don’t care and the parents have to trust these asholes
The technician that was installing seatbelts likely assumed that there must've been a reason for the boy to be on the bus. Then after thinking about it while working, and realizing that nobody was coming to retrieve the child he went to inform the school/bus company. If he didn't have a cellphone on him he would have no choice but leave the bus to get help, even if he did have a cellphone who would be the right person to call? It would have been inappropriate for him to remove the child considering that he is not a bus driver, nor is he a school system employee. I don't feel that the technician should be looked down upon for his actions. The blame lies strictly on the bus driver who did not perform a walkthrough, which IS standard procedure. The news anchors reporting on this are overtly harsh and critical of this man, what would they have said if he had taken the boys hand and walked him out of camera range? Would that not put the man in a risky situation where he could fall victim to any number of horrendous accusations? To the anchors who exclaimed "Not to mention what was that worker was thinking!" and "It's hard to not be outraged" you're a couple soft, squishy, judgmental, non-thinking Muffinheads. Get you're heads back into the sunlight and apologize to this man! Buuuuuut, you likely won't.
aw poor kid :/ I know most people aren't taking this seriously since it was only 11 minutes but if that had been me at that age I wouldve been in hysterics within 30 seconds (fear of abandonment yay!)
It's actually not that bad. It happened to me last summer. It is bad for a four year old however. But anyone old enough that can comment on a video with proper grammar would be able to handle themselves.
+DeathStar ColorEar yeah! You are REALLY good at spelling and grammar! When I was 6 I had spelling of an 11 year old! I'm 11 now, so I have spelling of a 16 year old!
Something like that happened to me as a kid, I fell asleep coming home and I woke up in a totally strange neighborhood. I got off thinking maybe I could find my way back, but I went in circles. Eventually I began to panic and cry, I didn't have a phone at the time so I couldn't call my mom or anything. My best option was to get picked up by a random stranger, so I waved at a passing car and luckily it was a really nice woman who was happy to help me, asked me where I lived and thankfully I knew the address so I told her, she seemed really well at communicating with kids who are scared. So she took me home and that was that, never been so happy to be home that day, also wish I can thank that woman today for helping and not being a creepy pedo or child killer lol, I'm 22 now.
Supermonkeyman 3rd at least u missed out on all those homework assignments which is GOOD in my eyes anyway. Education is important but homework can be ripped
This happens more often than people realize along with bus drivers letting some children off at wrong bus stops unaccompanied. I’d never let my small child alone on a a school bus. I’d find alternate transportation, before and after school care, or ask around the neighborhood for help. Too many close calls.
almost happened to me in elementary school, but i spoke up when the driver started pulling into the bus garage, i was in 1st grade and i was an angel on the bus, everywhere else no, but on the bus yeah, basically the bus driver didn't realize i was on cuz i was so quiet, so she just drove past my house, and i was the last stop.
Bus Driver n Bus Aid assistant should have the list on hand , each kid go on the aboard the bus n off the bus morning n afternoon.... make sure they have their kids count.... My daughter now going to school n coming home bus transportation n they are doing their job 100% good... 1 driver n 1-2 bus aid assistance... in my daughter school have 2 school bus ; 1 for preschool to 1 grade n other bus from 2 grade to 5 -6 grader ..
Galaxia9 it's their job keep track how many on board kids pick up for school n at the school ground counts the kids get off then do that math before leave the school grounds ... they miss one they will know... it's my point here... Big bus ¿how many kids fill the bus ? Or how many kids total pick up from home to school? At my daughter school they have per school bus 1-2 bus aid assistants n they arrived at school n the other classroom aid assistant get the kids at the bus to take them to school ... add 1-3 aids 1 driver total 4 heads 100% check the bus.. I usually took my daughter to school start full kindgarden class for 5 month plus from preschool half of day drop off I seen it all, my city school district hiring responsible people do their jobs.... I get so passed of I seen news from stupid mistake people forget to check morning n afterschool..
Phinix because dumb ass, a school employee left a child in a locked vehicle and if that guy hadn't told someone the kid would have been there all night.
Eleven minutes This isn't worthy of a news story. A mistake was made, no one was hurt, boy is fine. Life goes on. What kind of society have we come to when this warrants informing the local news of something so trivial. I think the boy will get over it.
micglobal the boy isn't fine once I was in grade1 I went on the bus from school to home but then i fell asleep and I was left alone in as bus all night but then the bus driver went in the school bus and he saw me asleep so he woke me up and said why are you here I just ignored him I was scared then he said were do I live so I told him that so I could get back home he drove me home in his car he knocked on the door 11minites later my mom opened the door were the heck were you! She shouted so I told her I fell asleep on the bus and I was left behind she was furious she sad from now on were walking school we all agreed I said mom you always say that so ye
Gosh that angers me. Poor little one. Helpless with a grown man walking by him without even checking to see if he’s okay. I hope those employees get reprimanded.
Is that bad? I was left on the bus alone for like 3 hours. I went to an intercity games thing, and it finished at at 2. I had to wait for my mom to get me at 5.
in fifth grade while I was on the bus to school, I got lost in thought and didn't get off. The bus driver noticed and drove back for me. I cringe every time I think of this, imagine how this kid feels.
Both of them should be fired!!! Why tf would he look at the boy and then keep working instead of asking if he's okay... needs water, hungry, etc..... he should've told him come on child ima go get you help.
the worker probably thought it was another worker child I don't know but still doesn't make the excuse that he still should've checked and stuff to see if the boy was okay
Lala Gonzalez Why should they be fired? Because the boy didn't get up and ask for help? The person put probably one or two seatbelts down and then got some help. But oh no that's leaving him alone again! FIRE THEM!
I understand the man installing the car seats, people--men specially--have to be careful when handling children when no one is around. When I worked at Best Buy if we found a lost kid, we didn't touch them, we told them to follow us to the front and sat them on a bench by the security podium and called their parents over the speaker, unless they were in immediate danger. I think this is that case, the boy was in no immediate danger, and its not like he ignored him and left him in a hot bus for hours. He took five minutes to do his job, and he was there with him the whole time, and then went to get someone to come for the kid. The bus driver is who is at fault here, they should have checked to make sure there were not children left on the bus. You know how many times I fell asleep on the train when going to school when I was a teen and ended up in Coney Island as a teen? A lot, imagine a little four year old.
We've all done stupid crap at work, but this is just outright awful and neglectful. What if he was diabetic or prone to seizures brought on upon stress? It's not like she forgot to fill in her logbook. She needs to be drug tested, and suspended for a month with no pay. It's way better than involuntary manslaughter being the worst outcome here.
I'm a school bus driver. We are trained every year to check the bus thoroughly when we reach our final destination and when we return back to the bus terminal. The driver and bus aid failed to do their jobs. The worker afterwards should've called right away instead of leaving the bus to get help. All 3 should be terminated.
something sort of like this happened to me. my little cousin was on the bus and was supposed to be left at home, but the bus driver didn't let me pick her up. What infuriates me is the f**king bus driver had not cared that I was allowed to pick her up and told me I needed a parent which is bullshit since some guy picked up a kid with no documents (he was her uncle who came to town this morning, so he had nothing allowing him to pick the kid up and the bus driver didn't know him so she gave a kid to someone she doesn't know) so the bus driver left with my cousin crying. Something really annoying is the bus driver has known me for around 6 years...
i didnt really get left but one day i had summer school and i was the 3rd person to get out but that 1 day i was the last and it was hella dark i was so scaried the first thing that was in my head was im gnna die , is she gonna kill me , is today my last day to see my family , god help me plz i was crying in my head i didnt want to cry in front of her and she dropped me off and i didnt know my address so that was a problem and my dad almoat called 911 and that was thr last day on me going to summer school xD i was happy
Dhsj Sjsj it happened to me too! how is it that this happened to me and you? not even gonna ask, BUT when that happened I still had to go t ok summer school
I have done that before too... I fell asleep, (im in middle school btw) and they started going to the high school. One student, who was behind me, woke me up as everyone was getting off at the high school. Of course, I immediately I knew what happened, and so I had to ask the bus driver to drive me back to my school. Most awkward twenty minutes of my life
Your suppose to check to make sure all children are off your bus before you park it in the garage for the day. He had to remember if this child was off or not! Bus drivers have a manifest of all children who are picked up from home and dropped off at home. How could this child be forgotten and you picked him up for school? How?? Smh. Either I have a new bus driver or I won't let my child ride anymore. Something will be done. Smh Poor thing.
I understand that its a cute child left on a bus, but at this point it happens all the time at my school, almost once a month a child is left on my school bus alone.
These workers should be fired!!! Obviously they didn’t follow proper procedures to check the bus before they get off and it was an aide on the bus so no excuses. A lot of times these drives and aides are on their cell phones talking and texting unfortunately in my county they have let drivers and aides go due to this problem. Even as teachers when we take kids on field trips before we leave with students we check the bus to make sure we didn’t leave anyone behind.
Oh I had a similar experience. I fell asleep on the bus when I was maybe 9. I woke up while the bus driver was heading back, so she turned around and dropped me off. Now that I think back she really should have checked the seats before leaving, but at least it didn't end up like this kids story which sound scarier.
S Wolf G ok this is Arizona. A bus can reach up to 10 degrees hotter than the temperature outside in about five minutes. If it was a one hindered degree day out like an average day in august, September, and early October, it would be 110 degrees. That can give an adult heat exhaustion without water in about 30 minutes. Children don't have as high a heat tolerance because they are still growing, so it only takes about 10 minutes. Heat exhaustion can quickly turn to heat stroke without the proper care, and heat stroke can be fatal. So ya.
One daycare I worked at had a school bus. Once all the kids were off, every day, one of the staff that had helped pick them up would check the bus. We looked at and under every seat. There’s no excuse for not checking to make sure no kids fell asleep, and it only takes a minute or two at most.
Even without a child check alarm it should be habit for every driver and attendant to check for students. I always actively search for a student hiding or asleep as if I know I will find one. This is automatic termination at our district in Texas.
MrBill / I agree - It should be mandatory to be checked in every school bus every where or automatic termination on the person who didn't do their job of checking the bus.
are we there yet..
Classic, this had me in stitches.......well said.
😂
Jorge Gaytan lol
THIS DESERVES MORE LIKES!!!
Jorge Gaytan haha
My mom used to be a bus driver and they are supposed to check n make sure everyone is off smh
Not all places are like that SMH :/
Same here, mom was a bus driver, and she would always walk the bus after each school drop off. She found kids asleep sometimes.
Well your mom has a shitty job
I was a SB driver and We had a no child left behind button that you couldn’t bypass and a chick I know managed to overlook a sleeping teen and she pressed the button some people don’t see them kids because they really don’t care and the parents have to trust these asholes
My mom is still a bus driver and everyday she goes back and forth two or three times to make sure that the kids aren’t under the seats also.

Chloe Sanders
@Matthew Monroe Lmfao ikr.

Bus drivers should check all seats after pulling in at the bus barn. This is a negligent driver. Poor little boy.
Dorene Mellene not really, the driver would have had no way of seeing the boy if he was asleep. It's really just an accident, nothing more
he might of been under the seat
Infinitile AJ bus drivers are required by law to check on and under every seat before leaving the bus.
Dorene Mellene agree
Fallout Surviver75 - Thank you.

Dumb as rocks please do not have children. Protocol has no child alone in school distructs. FAIL
They're AT THE BUS YARD, THERE'S NO REASON FOR A CHILD TO BE THERE
What you seem to be failing at understanding is like Tiphnee said there is no reason for a kid to be on a bus without anyone there. He was wrong

Stargirl Gaming 7752 Well you said two sentences and didnt put the period where the first sentence ended.

micglobal 11 minutes plus the minutes he didn't get off the bus.so from his parents perspective hes been gone for like 30 or more mins prob
micglobal the boy isn't fine once I was in grade1 I went on the bus from school to home but then i fell asleep and I was left alone in as bus all night but then the bus driver went in the school bus and he saw me asleep so he woke me up and said why are you here I just ignored him I was scared then he said were do I live so I told him that so I could get back home he drove me home in his car he knocked on the door 11minites later my mom opened the door were the heck were you! I can relate to this comment
in fifth grade while I was on the bus to school, I got lost in thought and didn't get off. The bus driver noticed and drove back for me. I cringe every time I think of this, imagine how this kid feels.
aren't you supposed to check the seats before you close the bus up?
The first thing I noticed was that there were seat-belts on the bus
Lol same
Same
Lol Meow same lol

the bus driver should check the bus before it leaves
That doofus came on, saw him, and ignored him. Wow, him and the bus driver are real geniuses.
Both of them should be fired!!! Why tf would he look at the boy and then keep working instead of asking if he's okay... needs water, hungry, etc..... he should've told him come on child ima go get you help.
Lala Gonzalez 11 mins. left alone
the worker probably thought it was another worker child I don't know but still
doesn't make the excuse that he still should've checked and stuff to see if the boy was okay

Hey man some people aren't parents for a reason. It was 11 minutes lil homie is fine.
Amina Be'Smilin cause the worker doesn't care or have a heart
The worker looked at him and said I got seat belts to fix what a loser

What infuriates me is the f**king bus driver had not cared that I was allowed to pick her up and told me I needed a parent which is bullshit since some guy picked up a kid with no documents (he was her uncle who came to town this morning, so he had nothing allowing him to pick the kid up and the bus driver didn't know him so she gave a kid to someone she doesn't know) so the bus driver left with my cousin crying. Something really annoying is the bus driver has known me for around 6 years...
My mother is a bus driver and it's one of the rules to check under and in all the seats.
THIS HAS HAPPENED TO 11 OF MY FRIENDS AND IT HAPPENS ALL THE TIME
Eww Chloe you really counted out 11? shut up
RUDE
A lot of these school bus drivers and the company they work for are utterly uneducated baffoons . We experienced this ourselves w/our child. Scary
How dumb is he you see the child on the bus didnt even care to get him home
Seriously?Dat dude just leaves that poor lil kid

Dhsj Sjsj it happened to me too! how is it that this happened to me and you? not even gonna ask, BUT when that happened I still had to go t ok summer school
lol ikr and lucky for me it was my 1st week of summer school xD
This breaks my heart. Poor little guy.
This had happened to me. But thankfully the bus driver was still driving it😂
I have done that before too... I fell asleep, (im in middle school btw) and they started going to the high school. One student, who was behind me, woke me up as everyone was getting off at the high school. Of course, I immediately I knew what happened, and so I had to ask the bus driver to drive me back to my school. Most awkward twenty minutes of my life
there's seatbelts?
Ikr
Haha that's what I said
Your suppose to check to make sure all children are off your bus before you park it in the garage for the day.
CheesecakeBG u go to a bad and stupid school then
brandon marker or people make mistakes?
I know a kid that got left on the bus but unfortunately died from a heatstroke...
That one dude be dodging responsability lol that ain't my kid😂😂😂😂
The same thing happened to me in elementary school. I was so scared, i started crying. Someone should investigate this. No child should suffer this.
Yo I'm 20 and I have fallen asleep on the bus and I almost got taken to the bus yard i woke up as the bus started leaving lol
2 out of the 3 reporters still work for abc
😭😭😭🙏🙏🙏🙏🙏 the boy is so cute HOPE HE GOES BACK TO HIS FAMILY
he is so cute
People are so rude sometimes that little boy is so cute, who could do that to him, he was taking his nap
i would have just went to sleep
Matt Gaming fix "you're" grammar bro
Oh I had a similar experience. I fell asleep on the bus when I was maybe 9. I woke up while the bus driver was heading back, so she turned around and dropped me off.
Now that I think back she really should have checked the seats before leaving, but at least it didn't end up like this kids story which sound scarier.
He was trying to do the "24 hours in a school bus" challenge!! Hahaha
Not funny
Jk
that man installing the car seats wasn't going to do any extra work, that's likely what he was thinking
OMG THIS MY SCHOOL HAZEL VALLY IN SEATLE
And now everybody knows where you go to school.
You should delete that.
lol exactly, this guy isnt the brightest
issa abdi hi I play roblox my names fallen spread shot
issa abdi this is in Arizona
issa abdi wait that was your school district / bus
That poor baby 😢 I hope he’s safe💔
omg kid left on valley school bus what a shame lol i bet this kid was enjoying it
S Wolf G Nope, it means he gets to school early.
So ya.
if a parent cant anyone who has a cdl should know they cant
gamergirl517 I think he was joking so shut up
I think that we ALL can agree that THIS was the epitome of egregious incompetence!
I was always a car rider O.O
im a walker and car rider
Whit DoesStuff im a walker
When I was a kid I was on a bus alone too! but only for 10 minutes not 11 :(
I'm laughing so hard
Oh.
Not Kylie's Friend why
🌚
Not Kylie's Friend yea because you like to see little kids scared to death
He's so cute❤
One daycare I worked at had a school bus. Once all the kids were off, every day, one of the staff that had helped pick them up would check the bus. We looked at and under every seat. There’s no excuse for not checking to make sure no kids fell asleep, and it only takes a minute or two at most.
Our bus driver missed kids at the school and once missed a kids Bus stop when we all begged her to stop for the kid she just kept driving
At 0:26 the boy is like "oh man let me just wait here till somebody comes ,don't try to prank me " but then he's confused 😂😂
The little boy seems so confused... it's so cute
BUS DRIVERS PLEASE DONT BE IN A HURRY TO LEAVE ...PLEASE CHECK THE BUS BEFORE YOUR ROUTE IS OVER...
I would have been panicking so hard, being left alone on a bus, train, car, or a plane is one of my biggest fears.
The look on his face... Bless...
once on my bus, some kid fell asleep. i was trying to wake him up. i wish him the best.
