    I drive a bus and don’t know any driver who would do this. You find out where they live and take them there or bring them back to school. Not that difficult.

      When I was driving school buses in Australia and if a student was on the bus at last stop because they missed their stop. Policy was to keep children on bus and radio in to the Depot advising of situation and to wait instructions.
      I've been advised to drive students back to the school and walk them into the office, for senior students it varied. But the safety of the students was the number 1 priority & never would I just dump a child like the driver in this video did.

    • @djrosette
      @djrosette 2 місяці тому +3

      Exactly. I would just bring them back to the school and have the school get the parents to pick them from the school. I mean I have had to take kids back to a school before and like you said it's not that hard

      @@c.r.mcleod8959our policy is to return the kids to school if no one is waiting for them though we hafta call the school before bringing them back to the school so that someone from the office will be waiting with them for their parents

      If my mom was still here this is something that she would have done and made sure that those two kids got home safely. Ages ago in Kmart she found a boy lost in the store and took him to the desk so they could page his mom. The kid happened to be someone who was in nursery school with me and my mom told me about it. Small world.

    Thank goodness for that little boy who took those two boys home with him! How scary for those two brothers! Can’t believe an ADULT bus driver did this! Why didn’t he/she just call the school and tell the supervisor that two boys were at the end of the bus route and inquire where their stop was or if they were even on the right bus! Appalling! How would they feel if it was their kids being dumped somewhere they weren’t familiar with and that young!

      With the amount of political indoctrination and "woke" nonsense in the schools today, everyone should be teaching their own kids. Glad you made the sane choice. I was bullied and harassed relentlessly after starting public school in 3rd grade until my parents sent me to private school when I in 9th grade. And that was 28 years ago. The public schools do not care about anything except their money and teaching kids nonsense while real topics of study are ignored. If you are a victim, they blame you for being a "troublemaker" and bringing it on yourself.

    It's 2024. They don't have a way to confirm that students are dropped off at their right stop? It could be a text message system or something for small kids. Either the bus driver, parent, or both could be responsible. And there should be an alert at the station if confirmation isn't received within a reasonable period of time. If Johnny should be dropped off by 3:05, Tommy by 3:15, Jane by 3:25, an alert should go off at the bus depot 15 minutes after scheduled dropoff time is missed. The bus driver and parent should be called by the dispatcher right away. Problem solved.

    This happened in Pennsylvania in the 1990s to an elementary school child left in our neighborhood. My teenage kids were home and saw the child. They brought her to our house and called me. I left work and called the police to get to the bottom of it. Another time I was driving my teenagers home and a classmate of my kids was booted off the bus on a busy street. We took him in and he called his mother with my phone. He had permission from the school to ride that bus but the bus driver booted him out on a four lane highway with no way for a pedestrian to safely travel.

    The problem is they don't give stiff enough punishment for CRIMES like this. She should be charged with, child abandonment, child endangerment, a fine a class that they have to pay for out of pocket.
    They should be warned of these consequences of front. The reporter mentioned there was no cellphone to call home. I'm sure the bus driver had his own phone or a way to dispatch from the bus. Hell, he could have stopped somewhere safe and called and asked to use or a phone OR go back to the school as the boys suggested. Those children aren't even in the 5th grade yet and he still isn’t smarter than them. 😢😢

    • @rho0w057
      @rho0w057 3 місяці тому

      It 100% is a crime, and is also strictly against protocol. You are supposed to either go back and locate the proper stop, or (in the case the proper stop was left off the list) you are to circle back to the school and hand the child over to them, who then contacts the parents for pickup.
      This bus driver has likely lost their job, and may be facing legal charges. I can't understand how they thought this would not be discovered...

    This NEVER happens in Monterey. Our bus drivers know the kids. Kids are always watched and are never left alone. Kids are always taken back to the schools when necessary. Watch everyone get on their high horse with this.... When were stationed in Germany An Der Hunsruck where almost no one spoke English my son who was in kindergarten got put on the wrong bus. When I went to the stop and he was not there I about fainted. After I contacted the school we found out that he was 30 miles away in the German countryside surrounded by farms. We never panic as we personally knew those in charge and everything was sorted out. My son now grown loves to tell this story. This was Germany so no one was sued or arrested. But then this part of Germany has almost no crime. God how I miss Europe.

    This happened to my son and another child in my neighborhood on the first day of kindergarten. We had moved to a Penn State satellite campus 3 weeks before. My son toook the crying other child by the hand, crossed a US highway and walked the better part of a mile to the campus police. (I was at my son’s bus stop on the other side of campus when the bus drove through the stop). I ran home, called the school, which in turn called the bus driver, who did not know where she dropped them off. Meanwhile, my son told them his name and my name and that they needed a ride home. Campus police called me and nicely brought the children home to me. They were unable to get a hold of the other parents and the other child stayed with me. My son did a great job and seemed unfazed. We filed a complaint withe the school district. Turned out the driver left a total of 7 children off the wrong place. Shhe lost her job. Incidentally the chilren had name tags on with bus stop number on their shirts. That was in 1977.

    That’s Child Endangerment. This happened to me on an NEISD Bus in 1992 at just 6 years old. Luckily the Bus Driver stopped the Bus next to the house of a Family Friend we had just met as we’d just moved there after being PCS’d from Mannheim, Germany. Mrs. Quintero later became my actual Bus Driver as that route later got merged into the one I was on. Lucky Mrs. Q handled that situation the same way I would have.
