Karl, I’ve been watching your videos for a long time now, but I’ve never commented. Something about this particular video just made me want to reach out and say thank you 🙏. Thank you for putting in the leg work and helping people to understand India at a realistic level instead of shopping ideas around that sound good vocally but hardly have an effect in real life. You truly give India the chance it deserves, while painting in the sad truth aspects perfectly with the natural beauty of the country. I have to say this video (while short) was one of your most informative ones; sometimes you have to learn how to say no, just for your well being.
So many travelers are socially awkward ( myself included) and we don’t know how to say no. This video gives clear and cement reasons on how to be reasonable when visiting India. As I look forward to my trip in Delhi I must let you know that your videos and experiences have made it seem far more manageable than I could have possibly considered. Thank you so much!

I went to India 23 years ago and did not have any problems at all. I took a cab from Dehli to my Hotel and the driver was nice and I am a woman and I got to India about in the night my advice is to play cool and be nice because they are just like us ''humans'' but less fortunate all of us are in some ways but they do not live like us even though we do not have much or may not but they have insufficient so he was telling me about his life and I listened to him and thats it ! Be friendly guys!!!

I agree. One has to be super rude and mean to avoid those scammers approaching you.
I was trying to be friendly when I first landed in India few years back, but I was constantly being approached by strangers who eventually wanted to sell you something or bring you to somewhere.
Sooner I learn to just ignore them and not to look or speak to them. And it works.

Point to be noted by forginers,
    1. for payment use the online platform like Paytm, free change or google pay.A fter demobilisation most of the people started using an online platform.
    2. Check the atm before withdrawing cash, avoid withdrawing from the busy area, better to use atm the is near to bank, .....
    3. contact police for any enquriry, even at the airport,
    4. for transportation Delhi got ola, uber for cabs ( and auto too) and metro, bus for local transport ..
5.use google maps and ask to review.....
6.best time to visit delhi is feb - april and september -mid november else may -july == too hot december -jan ==too much pollution ...
for more help reply me ....
    for rajasthan info reply again

Karl there's this important caveat which you forgot to mention, these things apply when you're traveling the North Indian states around Delhi, Rajasthan,Madhya Pradesh etc...you shouldn't come off that rude while traveling in South India or the Himalayan regions ,where people usually mean what they say without trying to con you...for instance in Tamil Nadu if you don't approach the locals politely they probably won't help you out with anything... strength often rudeness is respected in the North while Politeness is valued in the South.

Some recommendations I can put down-
1- Please book your hotels online, well in advance. Request the hotel to send you an airport pick up. If they don’t have, use Uber. If I can use Uber in Houston then anyone can.
2- Food- do not indulge on street food. Do not have spicy food. Stick to good restaurants, download Zomato to know the restaurant ratings. You will find McDonalds or KFC everywhere. Let’s face it, we Indians too face food problems when overseas. That’s when we either cook ourselves or rely on McDonalds or KFC.
3- If you ( Foreigners) want to buy antique or any articrafts, look out for government owned retail shops. Please google to find the right shops.
4- Always use the hotel shuttle, avoid local transport.
5- For the Interest of safety for the women, please do not wear revealing clothes. You can buy salwar kameez or Kurtis and wear them. Revealing clothes are best suited for places like Goa.
6- Last and foremost, trust your Instincts. If you feel something’s not right, escape. Keep your local embassy number in hand. Expect least support from the local police.
