- I will teach you in this tutorial how to install the FSR 3 Frame Gen mod in the game Alan wake 2. In the video I will test it on a GTX 1660 Ti and show how much the performance has improved. I will explain how to reduce the latency and ghosting effects that may occur.

How to disable the Epic Games Store overlay
Games bought from the Epic Store have a high chance of randomly crashing when the overlay is enabled.
To disable it, follow these steps:
1. Go into your Epic Games Store installation folder (usually `C:/Program Files (x86)/Epic Games/Launcher`)
2. Navigate to `Portal/Extras/Overlay`
3. Rename `EOSOverlayRenderer-Win32-Shipping.exe` and `EOSOverlayRenderer-Win64-Shipping.exe` to something else, like `disabled-EOSOverlayRenderer.exe`
the game opens, I start a new game but after the initial video I see everything black or a similar color, what should I do? I have a 3080 if that helps

I have the FSR3 mod working on my Legion Go but, I received this error:
Your GPU driver is outdated. Please update it to a newer version.
I have this set to true in the config file (fake_nvidia_gpu = true). The game only works after I delete the config file and boots up as normal but I'm having a ghosting issue while playing. How can I fix this? Lens distortion is set to true ("m_bLensDistortion": true).
Running Alan Wake 2 on a Nvidia 2070 with FSR2FSR3_0.7.5_hotfix. Im am SO impressed! No latency that I can notice, minimal ghosting and no problem with the HUD, at least noting I've noticed. There's a little anomalies around some objects but the game atmosphere makes it blend in really good. Going from 30-35 FPS to 60 FPS is so awesome!

ok so i installed all the files in the game folder and when i run the game and select dlss my screen turns black but i can hear the sound and pause the game and when i select fsr my game crashes.
change the graphics options on the game's home screen, don't do this during the game
@@gtx1660tiplayer ok so i missed the first part (PotatoIsBack files) of the installation, now it working but frame generation is not doing anything for me i am getting the same amount of fps with or without FG on.
I'm sorry but i cannot find the FSR version you're mentioning for the game. which one is it exactly in the links you've provided? Also I tried different versions and still the option is grayed out.

I can't use it because when I copy the files to game exec folder and lanch the game, after I skip the VRAM error(my GPU has 4 GB), and I try to play the game it's just close automatically without load.
Alan wake 2 é um jogo que exige bastante do PC, até mesmo os 6gb da minha GPU quase não são suficientes, exclua todos os arquivos do mod e instale a versão atual, sem os arquivos do potatoisback e abra o jogo

Muda o game para DLSS na tela de inicio, antes de carregar o jogo que para de dar crash durante o loading. Resolvi aqui assim.

Yeah mod work on my gtx 1060 before the mod game was 18 fps outdoor areas indoors areas was 30 fps after the mod game becomes 35 in outdoor areas indoors become above 50 fps

How do you make the frametime stable? In Alan Wake 2 when I turn on the mod the frametime becomes very unstable
To achieve maximum frametime stability, limit the FPS to 60 on the Rivatuner statistics server

Yes they can but since it just got released, it'll take time for it to arrive in every game. Forspoken and Immortals of Aveum are the only two games right now that have built-in FSR 3 frame generation.

So i am confused now. Frame generation was not doing anything for me i was getting the same amount of fps with or without FG on. But FG was working without the mod.
So I uninstalled the mod to run the game to check it like i said above and then FG worked fine without the mod but it wasn't doing anything with the mod. Now I reinstalled the mod and now I am getting even a lot less fps than without the mod. Without the mod with everything max including path tracing/ray reconstruction +dlss quality +FG i was getting around 70 to 90 fps and with the mod it was around the same (during my first install of the mod) but without the FG and FG was not doing anything when i turned it on. Now with the mod (after reinatlling) I am getting 49fps lol. I even reinstalled the game and then the mod but still getting 49 fps and without the mod i getting around 70-90 in the same area.
Thanks for the comment, but it seems that for each PC the mod works differently, for me it works as I presented in the video, search here on UA-cam for your GPU being tested with it, I've watched many test videos with several different PCs and they all work
When you run this game at 70-90 fps you dont need this mod anyway, so......

The latency is same..... It just shows pictures in between the frames that you can control.
(UPDATED) Ryzen 5600 4.6 ghz and RX 6750 XT 2.7ghz to core and vram 2300mhz SAM enabled in vanilla game in same scene i got 80 - 180 fps and with this i got easily over 100fps to 190fps in medium/high and 0.1% lows improved significantly

the FSR 3 mod is in beta phase and is still very unstable, I do not recommend using it with other mods

I installed alan wake and and copied the latest mod files to game folder but as soon as the game starts the frame just won't go over 15 fps while GPU isn't working at 100% so I know it definitely can give above 15
@@qamararfin7534 at other games it work but i never tried allan wake 2 cause they say its nonsense in RX 580 which the gpu that i have its too weak for the game
@@MindBodyAndSoul1996 I saw someone playing at above 30 fps with just a 1050ti and in rx580 it's not going above 15 so definitely some optimisation problem for amd card

download version 0.7.3 of the mod, do not use potatoisback files
Change the game to DLSS on the home screen before loading it, and it stops crashing during the loading. That's how I fixed it here

The game would crash for me if I left it in FULL Screen instead of window mode. And it didn't work after the 1.0.15 update.

@Kelough25 infelizmente o Alan wake 2 não dá suporte para as placas de vídeo da série GTX 10 por causa dos mesh shaders. teste o mod com outros jogos.

Mod is not suitable for AMD cards as it relies on nvidia streamline which has hardcoded gpu vendor check

So basically there's no way to fix the hud blinking problem yet...
Dlss3 and native implementation of fsr 3 takes different approaches on his rendering. Dlss use hardware to do its job so it basically use ai hardware to make calculations. Fsr 3 does not use ai, so game makers make duplicate the hud on the generated frame. So basically hud will have half frame rate version of actual game.
This mod, unless extensive modding, won’t able to make proper hud rendering. Due to nature.

@@gtx1660tiplayer yeah I am aware of that. However, that alone doesn't make the input latency as good as actual high framerates.
This has been the same with actual DLSS3 frame gen as well [reflex is always forced on with DLSS3 framegen and the input latency feels just like internal framerate].
Without low latency enabled, the input latency gets worse because it adds extra latency over the internal framerate.
Anyway, this is still an improvement. At least the game would look more fluid compared to raw framerates. I just hope devs don't use framegen as a target for acheiving 60 fps on target hardware. The games should be optimized to run at high framerate natively and only use frame gen as supplement. We've already seen devs abusing upscaling techniques on consoles [ex: immortals of avium] to the point where the experience is just horrible.

Not working at all for amd neither Vulkan mod! The funniest thing FSR 3 and Vulkan are supposed to be from AMD and its NOT working on their OWN hardware! i heavily regret buying RX580 intead of 1060 back then!
