i will never get enough of your videos. what you do as a photographer is so striking, but you also have this nonchalance that is infectious and truly representative of "living the life" to me. rock on man!
The only thing I hate about Nick Carver videos is they inspire me so much I get about 5mins in & pause to go & look at an image I've taken months or years ago & look at it with a whole new 'Nick' viewpoint.
what a great jurassic quote. Edit: This is Nick at his finest and me at my happiest. Everything was great - story, sounds, picture. Really top notch Nick.
Another awesome episode personally I like to think I’m pretty meticulous regarding my photography but man you take it to the next level don’t take it the wrong way but I love watching you agonising over every detail that is true craftsmanship
It’s nice to see the young people getting back into the film cameras guys like me learned photography with. I hope enough people shooting film gets the film manufactures to start releasing more film and paper options.
I Used those cameras in my studio and occassional on sites! Stunning gear. And to Rollei users, they suck! I kept a Rollei, that was intended for a love one! By the time fully serviced, relation-ship was done!Loved could leave camera on tripod! Rollei too fragile! Service and aftercare was unique! Your Video is stunning! Bravo!
Some of that spring business looks pretty enticing from up north. You are picking fresh oranges, I have to go shovel the snow. So far 6 fresh inches today and it keeps on coming. I hope the summer lands on a weekend this year.
I love the C220! Sadly I hurt my neck so using a WLF is rough. I got an adapter on eBay to fit a Kiev 88 45-degree metered prism and it's now my favorite medium format camera.
This is a triumph! The story telling aspect is amazing. Totally unexpected based on the title, it turned out to be the perfect thing for a Sunday morning. Thank you Nick.
Great images, great storytelling of their capture, great ambiance to it all. I think the soft light works really well. Of course you could hit the sliders to get an idea of what harsh light would have produced, or you could take a win and move on to the next adventure. The latter would fit the relaxed feel of this post.
Nice shots once more, love the very first onem the flies and of cause the 6x17 thankx ! Would love to take mine for spin as well but the weather here in Germany is just clouds, rain and freezing for the last week, so sitting inside watching youtube videos is the task for the day.
Supercool. I'm on my third TLR, the exact same model, but I rarely shoot it. I might just have to dust it off, and take it for a photo walk. Thanks for the inspiration. Love the gnat shot.
i was gifted a C220 as my first film camera about 3 weeks ago what a coincidence. I too was out in the backyard taking pics of my lemon tree. ran a couple rolls of gold 200 through it, very beautiful results. feel like you can just walk into the images. a very exciting but heavy camera. fantastic video i was vibing hard.
A beautiful short story. I love these Rollei like cameras. Especially the the waist level viewfinder. But I could never really get used to the square format. The bus stop photo is wonderful with the diffused light. Direct sunlight as seen in the Google Earth images looks too hard and kind of blotchy…
This is excellent. I love the sound effects at the beginning, the music, and the voiceover. Really entertaining and inspiring-an instant Nick Carver classic. Oh, and the resulting photo is a keeper!
Man that cloud will get you. Yesterday I set out to catch the ISS in front of the sun. It’s only there for 0.56 seconds. But Mr. Cloud came by and ruined it. Just a minute later it was clear and stayed clear all day. Love those orange shots.
Hi Nick. You killed it in this new video. Liked how you showed those nervous seconds before taking 6x17. Added more juice to the story of the video! Keep up the good work!
While I sympathize, I empathize even more - those are the real-world troubles that hamper so many of my image-taking opportunities. There is real comfort in knowing I am not the only one suffering the slings and arrows of the photography life!! Cheers, and better luck in 7 months!
Too funny. "Man plans, God laughs." TIL: Canadian Tuxedo. Thank you Obi Wan. Love the concept of the image, BTW. I fully expect you to follow up in 7 months. I get the feeling you're a bit obsessed with it at this point, for some reason. Happy trails.
love the bus stop nick :-) ; I've just committed to 120 B&W (acros) and doing the same round the roundabout you are in this vid, 3 weeks with one roll, looking at buildings, urban landscape, like this (but I got some art too {graffiti art on walls}-the GOOD kind :-) ) so now to the darkroom gods that roll goes, hoping things turn out; But the thing with the bus stop and clouds is the METAL, if it glares (has too much highlights), is the main problem here.
Nice to see you using a C220. They were the mainstay of wedding photographers many years ago, but I could never afford one, settling for a fixed lens Yashica 124G. I can't tell if it was intentional, but your dog pics suffered from their only issue, parallax error as you frame with one lens and shoot through the other.
Doing walks in your town with a camera certainly makes you aware of interesting small environments that you usually drive past. Next thing, you're pointing out little details to friends in the car as you drive around town :-)
Daddy Nick has been hitting the gym apparently. NGL the bit in your office with the drink, the 'satche, the spectacles, the shirt and the biceps questionned my heterosexuality.
🤭 u cant possibly be bad with street photography, sir. Please ... Try the penax Monochrome 😁🤗 im planning it for a trip to buffalo ny. Hopefully not too far away from now 💕 .
Hi Nick, I dunno if you look at older video comments....but if so, what focal length(s) were you shooting on the C220? I'm looking to get one and not sure which lens to start out with.... Thank you in advance, CC
If you don't pay attention to your environment, it seems like it seldom changes. But, if you're a photographer, and you're shooting street stuff, it's surprising how often things change. For years, I drove past a machine shop in downtown that had a very tall wall of tools hanging on corrugated metal and every time I drove past it, I thought "I gotta get a shot of that." Suffice to say, the shop is no longer there and I never got a shot of it. I really wish I had, it was beautiful.
The "c'mon, c'mon, c'mon, c'mon, c'mon" cut was brilliant.
The only thing I hate about Nick Carver, is there's never enough Nick Carver. I need videos weekly at a minimum!
i will never get enough of your videos. what you do as a photographer is so striking, but you also have this nonchalance that is infectious and truly representative of "living the life" to me. rock on man!

I just paused to say freaking thank you! Definitely more photowalks, your videos always restore my faith in UA-cam.
What an awesome storytelling. That rising sound of the gardening tools. SUSPENSE !!!!!
This is the best dialogue in a photography video I’ve ever been exposed to.
Tequila, fresh orange juice, Hawaiian shirt and a tache. It's that Magnum P.I. reboot we always wanted.
what a great jurassic quote. Edit: This is Nick at his finest and me at my happiest. Everything was great - story, sounds, picture. Really top notch Nick.
Music choice is awesome! 👌🏻
Spite light - the light that you waited so long for that arrives just as you leave. Happens so many times.
Great music choices. Another terrific video.
Man I love your photography and YT content! All the best from the UK
that screensaver at 5:00 goes hard ngl
I am late to the Nick Carver party, but enjoying the catch up! Loving your videos. Totally inspiring!
There's nothing like Portra colors..... 👌🏻
I love your sense of humor and your photography.
The gnats one is stunning and makes me itchy lol😂

Your videos are a pleasure to watch, as always. Thank you!!!
Fantastic storytelling, angles and editing. Bravo sir. Always a treat. Cheers from Miami!
Nice video. Long live film.
As always, another very entertaining video! I quite like the pic, and I definitely enjoyed the squares!!! Thanks again, Nick!!
Such a great video man!
You would love it in the Midwest. We have nature taking over ALOT of stuff out here.
Bloody great video!
The final image looks great. I think works well with the soft light. But I kinda hope you return there in 7 months.
What a coincidence. I just started a series called "Nature taking over." Most of my shots are in Orange County too. As always, great video.
Some of that spring business looks pretty enticing from up north. You are picking fresh oranges, I have to go shovel the snow. So far 6 fresh inches today and it keeps on coming. I hope the summer lands on a weekend this year.
Excellent little video Nick - captured the area beautifully with that square format ……. Not large format but remind me to talk square …..
I love the C220! Sadly I hurt my neck so using a WLF is rough. I got an adapter on eBay to fit a Kiev 88 45-degree metered prism and it's now my favorite medium format camera.

GREAT. Now I gotta pull out my C330 from its case.
Solid stuff Nicky. Keep it up!
Love your video style, Nick! Great storytelling. Looking forward to see your update in 7 months! 🍃
Love the shot, Nick! But the editing and storytelling are what really got me this time!
A beautiful short story. I love these Rollei like cameras. Especially the the waist level viewfinder. But I could never really get used to the square format.
The bus stop photo is wonderful with the diffused light. Direct sunlight as seen in the Google Earth images looks too hard and kind of blotchy…
I dug the tone and shift in video structure. Cheers, matey.
“Canadian Tuxedo”. 😂😂😂😂😂
This is excellent. I love the sound effects at the beginning, the music, and the voiceover. Really entertaining and inspiring-an instant Nick Carver classic. Oh, and the resulting photo is a keeper!
The Mamiya C220 is my favourite medium format travel camera.
Honey! Drop everything - a new Nick Carver video just dropped!
Love how much personality came through in the edit of this episode, Nick! Also, damn you for making me want a TLR even more. Awesome shots as always
Excellent narrative styling on this video Nick. I really enjoyed the whole thing.

man, the pacing on this video is amazing. lovely lovely shots
Applauding the bump in production value! Really liked your (video) shot selection here!
good to see you again bro
I loved this one Nick. Great editing and perfect soundtrack! Got me feelin' those so-cal springtime vibes!
a hummingbird nest in an orange tree, wow, not here in the netherlands 🇳🇱 👍🏻
While I sympathize, I empathize even more - those are the real-world troubles that hamper so many of my image-taking opportunities. There is real comfort in knowing I am not the only one suffering the slings and arrows of the photography life!!

A good one! As usual :)

Looking forward to seeing that Winter Solstice version of the shot!
Your cinematography chops go brrrr 👍
Definitely like the soft light!
Great Jeff Goldblum impression, man.
You should take a trip to Louisville Kentucky and take some photos there, it’s actually gorgeous.
Sir, your stories are always the best!
Again, another joyess watch, thank you
Another fine video Nick! I dearly miss shooting with my C220, my first intro to MF. "Canadian Tuxedo"... de rigueur where I'm from🤣
After catching them all, Ash Ketchum proceeds to capture a new side of OC.
Great work as always.
Your videos keep getting better and better. Thanks Nick!
Yes! The weather doesn't work for me even in Europe. :-) Thanks for your video.
enjoy watching your videos good photos.
Great video, made me want to use my film camera again
love the bus stop nick :-) ; I've just committed to 120 B&W (acros) and doing the same round the roundabout you are in this vid, 3 weeks with one roll, looking at buildings, urban landscape, like this (but I got some art too {graffiti art on walls}-the GOOD kind :-) ) so now to the darkroom gods that roll goes, hoping things turn out; But the thing with the bus stop and clouds is the METAL, if it glares (has too much highlights), is the main problem here.

Love the Star Trek reference ;-)

A Nick Carver youtube masterpiece ❤👍🏻🇦🇺👍🏻
Good to see you.
Loved this video!
You’re so fun. Neat video.
🙋🏼 like the music 🎵
Utterly superb Nick. 😂 Great storytelling, and I look forward to the follow-up piece in 7-9 months time. Pls.
Leo Tolstoy, teen heartthrob! Oh wow! I'm already laughing!
Thanks for a great video. Can you tell me what scanner you use please?
Thanks NC, luv your dry humor. Along the lines of Formerly Taco Bell, have you considered shooting Dingbats? Pretty iconic SoCal architecture too.
I didn't think your videos could get better ... but maaaan
Doing walks in your town with a camera certainly makes you aware of interesting small environments that you usually drive past. Next thing, you're pointing out little details to friends in the car as you drive around town :-)
You just know, that the photo of a bus stop is going to slap, when Nick says "scouting this forever"
Nice driveway.
Your orange press might be uranium glass, pretty cool piece. Try lighting it with a UV light.
I own a Rollei twin lens camera. I like this cameras very much.
Daddy Nick has been hitting the gym apparently. NGL the bit in your office with the drink, the 'satche, the spectacles, the shirt and the biceps questionned my heterosexuality.
That’s a camera I always wanted and never had. May still add one.
If you like overgrown things, you'd love Kudzu!

U should try buffalo, sir. Heatd is gonna change amd itll never be the same 😯
What were the songs used in this awesome video?
geez this TLR has some close focus. Might need to swap out my rolliflex 3.5 for it.
