    This was cool to watch. Sometimes you get lost in watching high level black belts roll and you see whats going on but dont really understand. Watching two blues and then having the cutaway to the proper technique puts it into a much easier perspective to pick out the small details

      I don't recommend it for most blues but I was a successful and technical bluebelt competitor. I was asked by a Crossfit gym if I wanted to run a grappling program. We quickly outgrew them and it went from a small grappling program to a real gym real quick.

    I love the commentary on a roll that's not yours Jordan! more of these please!!... I love love love your rolling style! so don't stop with those! but its nice to see different rolling styles and hear your input on what could've, would've, should've been :D It triggers my solution/problem/solution at all times in my brain... To not get stuck on only one or two moves, and just let it flow and morph into whatever, but always keeping control of my own body. So yeah! watching regular people (you're not a regular person lol) rolling, with YOUR input... awesome!

  • @pauloafonso5808
    @pauloafonso5808 2 роки тому

    Very insightful video, it might be better than the ones where you are crushing blue belts, because there are more mistakes being made by both sides and not just one. This is good (at least for me, a blue belt) because the chances of finding the same mistake I am making is higher, and then learning the correct way from your comentary. But pretty much every content you give us is a golden opportunity to learn for everyone, so keep it up! (please!)

    Mount always, I guess it is because of my Judo background. I feel more comfortable in the mount (tate shiho gatame), I feel effortless to protect this position. In the back I waste almost the same amount of energy as my opponent but in mount I can be the whole day looking for submissions while my opponent is drowning on the bottom.

    can you do a basic guide on how to maintain positions? for example how to maintain mount: not only, what grips to fight for or how to isolate the arm, but also how to distribute your weight to stop them from escaping. Like really really basic stuff good people do, but dont explain too often. last class somebody escaped my mount the way you showed it in the last "don´t let them do this" clip, cause my weight was too much forward :/
