    I don't know if I ever gave you your props, but I had my son spray my yard on top all fences and I also have vines crawling down the concrete frences. I have possums and raccoons walking my fences and in my yard. It's really been about a year, or maybe a little bit more

    I’m homeless and sleeping on this gem of a rooftop that’s hidden yet so not and turned to this video as I was awaken by the crunch of old pine fascicle’s. My subconscious of a instinct thought it was someone closing in on me as a threat and so I woke up(it’s weird how we’re all built this way) and looked about and seen 2 raccoons trying to get fresh with me. I had nothing to throw at them as my items up here are mine to keep but yeah that little thing stood up on its rear legs like “what’s up fool” I couldn’t believe it. I seen the tracks before I started staring here but that they might be very old. Anyways I’m going to get this going tomorrow. Thanks for the info fam 🙏🏽

    Make that solution and mix it up real good, then boil it alittle & strain the cayenne pepper out before putting it into your spray bottle. It will still have the smell they don’t like. Otherwise it will just keep clogging up your sprayer. Hope this helps.

    THANK YOU!!!!!! It WORKED!!!! Okay so I think its the cayenne pepper that makes the spray bottle not function; I tried two different ones so its not just the dollar-store spray bottle that didn't work. So, I used a empty ketchup squeeze bottle, the kind they have at restaurants, and bought it at the Dollar Tree. It's not as smooth as if it were a spray thing but better than just pouring it from a container. :) Thanks again. Oh BTW, I had to just do the process once!!! And it has been a week and no Racoon Scat!!! YOO HOO!!! Thank you again. I did buy the Green Colored Ajax Dish Soap and was happy that it is the Vinegar and Lime flavor :) Surprisingly the Dollar Tree was out of Cayenne Pepper..... hmmmmm.... too many racoons.... hmmm.... just kidding :)

    I use this to keep cats from mauling my outdoor furniture. I actually sprinkle cinnamon and cayenne. It works only if you continually keep it fresh every few days or after a rain. I have never had success with it being wet (spray bottle), needs to be a powder. I once painted the pumpkins on my porch with hot sauce to keep the squirrels from eating them. They still ate them. So I bought more and just sprinkled cayenne on top. That worked.

The only thing that works, and I have tried everything under the sun, is the Orbit Yard Enforcer that connects to your garden hose. Also you can try moth balls… It works with skunks and lots of animals..., or you can try water, vinegar and cayenne pepper , no need for cooking just spray it around your yard !! And I’ve heard you can sprinkle cut up pieces of Irish Spring soap around your yard and it works well!!!

    • @jodilea144
      @jodilea144 2 роки тому +1

      @Melba Sconyers, I’ve had some luck with the vinegar, but unfortunately, to get it strong enough to deter the critters, you risk killing plants, since it’s a natural herbicide. I found the Irish Spring idea last year on UA-cam and went out and bought lots of bars and grated them up...and the raccoons just ran through it! Lol
      The only thing that did keep them away for awhile was mothballs, and I only figured that out as a side effect of putting out the mothballs to deter scorpions. I only used them once though, as I learned that the chemicals can be quite hazardous to humans as they are washed into the ground with rains. We have a well and also a couple of ponds, so we didn’t risk it after that, other than to toss a few up into our attic when a squirrel made its way up there to nest over the winter. I’ve used the cayenne spray or just sprinkled it (quite heavily) around my beds and gardens, but it didn’t even deter my cats, sadly. What did work was a large bag of dried chili peppers I found in the Latino food section at Walmart for around $4. I crushed them up and sprinkled them all around my beds, and even through a couple of rainy weeks, it worked. I also ended up with lots and lots of tiny pepper plants from all the seeds. I just bought a large trap a couple of days ago, and my neighbor is setting his too, so hopefully, between the two of us, we can relocate this big bunch of them that we have out here. We are way out in the country though, with woods on three sides, so I’m not going to hold my breath. 🙂

    The powder pepper stuff will clog your spray bottle those bottles are weak...they always stop working on me ...use vinegar...they hate that smell too...don't water it down..a really strong white vingar....also....mothballs works well they have that at dollar general pretty cheep...a whole bag...you can crush them down into smaller pieces and sprinkle it around.. but you will have to do it weekly as the smell dissipates after a while.....I also heard cats hate mint...plant that around your garden and fence line, but only in pots as mint will take over an area real fast. ...if all else fails and it probably will... look on you tube how to make homemade traps and just remove the animals from the area...I seen some easy traps out of cardboard boxes....

    Some of these pests can cause problems inside your home. I had issues with bats & squirrels in my attic. Bat quano damage can cost many thousands to remove. Squirrels can create house fires by gnawing on electrical wires. I'm not going to risk my life or surrender my property to pests. So I did what I had to do. Deer: solar electric fence. Coons & Possums: easily caught in cage traps & relocated far away; ditto with cats. Squirrels are extremely wary of any kind of trap , so unfortunately the only option left was a .177 pellet or .22 CB bullet which are quiet & won't alarm your neighbors.

      Opossums can have rabies. My husband was bit by an opossum. I did make him go to the Dr. It is true that they rarely get rabies, but there is that chance. I did trap the opossum and put him in a cooler with ice and they sent it in to be tested-it was clear of rabies, but they have more teeth than any other mammal so there was that to be cleaned up and treated.

      Well, I live in the high desert and it almost never rains here. So, to be honest with you, I just bought a big, cheap bottle of cayenne pepper and sprinkled it around the perimeter of the garden.
      Since I do have a lot of beneficial insects I didn’t want to kill them with the soapy water.
      It worked like a charm. No more stray cats, that’s pretty much all I have, invading my garden. AND my lady bugs, praying mantis, and other good bugs stay safe.
      I applied it once a week for two weeks. Now I’ll sprinkle a little once a month.
      My cats aren’t affected because they stay in the center of the garden an don’t go potty there and won’t get sick chewing on soapy grasses. 👍🏻❤️

I thought my dog was barking at a cat....he would run to the sliding glass door frantically barking, scratching at the glass and would burst through it if he could but, I didn't see anything , of course. I'll try this in the section between my house and the neighbors where my dog doesn't go and where I don't have a 6' fence...that has to be where he's coming from. Well I tried the cayenne pepper mixed with water, and dish soap and you are right, immediately the sprayer clogged. So I poured it over the tires and around the car, then I got worried. I was afraid that I ruined my driveway and was ready for neighbors to come and see if I had been murdered because it looked like a blood bath out around my car. LOL. Luckily it washed off with a garden hose the next day and it didn't stain the driveway and NOBODY came to check on me. LOL On to of that the Ring camera caught the critter (that I'm now sure was a possum) walking right over the cayenne pepper under the car again. What I then did was get a bag of fresh garlic. It's packed into individual sealed plastic bags and those bags into a larger plastic bag. It stunk to high heaven. I put a packet on top of each tire and some under the car and I have not seen anything going under my car since then so I'm hoping it worked. Anyway, thanks again, glad I didn't buy an expensive rat zapper and it wouldn't have worked anyway since it turns out it was a possum.
