Lol dude, i feel your pain with the racoons, but they are probably thanking you for the salsa dip you're creating for them. Racoons really won't leave because of something they smell. I've had many years and thousands of dollars of damage from racoons. I've cut trees, only to watch them climb the wall of my house like spider man. I've also had them rip threw my shingles, and put a twelve inch hole in my roof. They've dug under my shed tearing up the flooring, and destroying a shed full of items. Unfortunately, the only way to get rid of them is to trap them and relocate them, or shoot them.
Don’t waste your money on motion lights or noises. I spent $50. On a Critter Detector that flashed red lights and buzzed. The raccoons and skunks would walk right up toward it within one foot. I guess the best way would be to have a local Critter control come trap them and haul them away. There’s three raccoons and one possum and my five stray cats I feed. They charge up to $350. They would probably trap my cats and I don’t want to pay for them to trap them and release hem. I’ve got a real headache here at My Zoo! Ha!
I have installed a reolink security camera that can detect animals and trigger siren to protect my koi pond from raccoons. It works. Raccoons came multiple nights and each time the camera siren scared them away. I am in the process of installing some bird spikes along the edge of my pond. That should prevent raccoons from harassing my koi for good.
That doesn't work in New Orleans. These Possums and Raccoons love hot sauce and pepper. I was choking after putting it in my yard, a few hours later they were walking through the yard. Right around this same time another young raccoon had the same kind of rat trap on its hand and for two nights I watched it struggling with it stuck on him I tried putting out a live trap it didn't work then I saw it literally chewing away at his wrist on the out side of where the trap was stuck and the day after that he returned with no trap anymore and no freaking hand either! It looks like he just chewed it off to break free of the trap I felt so bad for him I wished he would have just been easy like the first guy and would have let me help him.
