    Great informative video Michael. I don't have a crawlspace, but the information on mold is relevant regardless.

    What can I do with a crawl space so tight no one can fit under most of the house to seal the space. I'm 5'7 140lb and can't fit

      That is a true crawl space, We have cut access into sub-floor and pumped low humidity air inside using a dehumidifier that is ducted. Is this a possible option for you?

    Thank you for your videos! I live in a river house so there is ALWAYS water in our crawl space. I don’t know what to do to stop the mold. I have immune system diseases that now I wonder if are related.

      Look up “Chronic Inflammatory Response Syndrome”. Mold can affect people very differently and some people can develop immune illnesses, myself included. Good luck!

    Is there such thing as dead mold? I had mold treated under my house and I went up under there with the inspector and I saw what I thought was mold. It sure looked like mold and he rubbed it and he said it was dead mold because it smeared when he rubbed it.

      A mold that has dried out and become temporarily inactive is referred to as "dead mold". When mold is killed and not removed, for instance with bleach, this happens. The appearance of dead mold is flaky and powdery, unlike living mold, which appears moist and can be white, black, or yellow.

      Is dead mold still harmful on our health once killed with bleached but not removed ?

    What is usually an average estimate on insulation and plastic vapor barrier for 2200 sq. Ft run?

    • @CrawlSpaceNinja
      @CrawlSpaceNinja  Рік тому

      Saddle Strong - prices vary by region. Encapsulating a crawl space costs on average $3,000 to $8,000, with prices ranging from $1,500 to $15,000. The cost of waterproofing a crawl space ranges from $3 to $7 per square foot, including drainage, insulation, vapor barrier, repairs, sealing, and dehumidifier. The cost of installing a vapor barrier per square foot ranges from $2 to $4. We hope this answers your question. Thanks for watching and we hope you have a happy & blessed day!

    Is the chemical they spray to kill mold in crawlspace dangerous to me when I smell it in the house

    • @CrawlSpaceNinja
      @CrawlSpaceNinja  Рік тому

      We use the Anabec products which are not pesticides, but they still recommend no one being in the home when the treatment is being applied. I am not sure of what other companies use, but I would say the recommendation is the same.

      Crawl Space Ninja so spending $600 on testing would be a waste of money then right ? Since all mold needs to be removed according to the EPA. I’m a master inspector and a certified mold inspector with over 9,000 inspections under my belt. If there is visible apparent mold growth it should be removed period. Testing should be done AFTER remediation. Unless there is litigation going on where it needs to be proven without a shadow of a doubt that it’s mold. There’s no point in wasting your clients money. Short answer is there isn’t any good mold you would leave.

      Michael McKnight Damn dude, this was just putting information out there about molds and identifying their effects either on humans or structure wise and who to contact and you give him hell for it? What a dick you are. This channel has tons of useful information and has helped me do crawlspace encapsulation and mold remediation myself. Get your life together man, grow up. No one cares about your certs.
