Here's another Rise of Nations guide focusing on Generals, I'll upload another focusing on Patriots soon. I hope you find it useful, all feedback is welcome. Happy gaming!
just wanted to say I have played this game for many years but stopped with all the civ 5 and civ 6 hype and then of course AOE4 came out so it's been awhile and, I watched your video about rise of nations and why play in 2022 but after that I was like omg I forgot about this awsome game lol and started playing agian thanks to you and I deff miss it alot lol and have taken a new found love of it jamming on it as we speak but if you need more steam buddy's my steam ID or steam account name is redteardrop look me up and feel free to add me and maybe just maybe you will see this comment and add me and I'll have a rts buddy to practice multi-player on multiple diff rts games 🎮 lol 😆?
@@joshrayborn1418 I'm glad you rediscovered Rise of Nations Josh! I must confess I don't play the game all that much these days, but there is still an active multiplayer base playing, especially as the game is on Xbox Game Pass! If you log onto the multiplayer you will find many active players who I'm sure will be up for playing regularly with a gentleman such as yourself! Happy gaming!
Best rts hands down... it plays closer to how we all imagined rts in our heads... aoe 2 was fun until u play someone just macro/micro u to death.. with little strategy. u are the chosen one who will bring attention to this game that it deserves
Totally agree with your aoe2 analysis, a fun game but lacks the depth of Rise of Nations. I'm glad you think so! I hope you're still playing occasionally.
10 anti tank infantry, 3 artillery, 3 supply wagons(2 attached to infantry and one to artillery), 3 Generals (2 attached to infantry and 1 to artillery); all fully upgraded. This is my flanking army (Cntrl 3). Kept my roommate engaged in the middle of the Great lakes map (infinite qued counter to whatever army he bought) and flanked him from his left on one of his 3 major cities ( located way deep inside his turf). The look on his face when I pulled off the greatest ambush was worth all the effort. College was great, RoN was awesome!
@@bragi_games Haha yeah it's a bit pokey, useful to know where you found me though thanks! Do you play any other strategy games? I'm considering branching out at some point...
@elliotalderson3876 absolutely! I've played for many hours but still feel overwhelmed in a skirmish, watching other more experienced players makes you realise how deep the game really is!
Cheers buddy, and thanks for taking the time to post the occasional positive comment. Very easy to think "nobody cares about my content" so it's always a positive boost. Next RoN video out in a day or two....or three :)
@@twiglets2 My pleasure. I thoroughly understand that mindset, as it's common with most channels that start off with a small audience. Even if you get half a dozen likes and 50+ views it can seem like no one really cares. So having comments heck even negative ones so long as they bring constructive feedback are very welcoming.
Great video. Learning to use generals really improved my game and I agree with you that the game does a poor job explaining how useful they are. The Patriot was a real game changer for rush oriented players as well.
Thanks for the warm words, I just hope people find this sort of stuff useful. Not that there's much of a learning curve to this game but still, every little helps!
Thx for the great vid, I dont know the general is very good unit, I usually didn't make general cause I didn't know how to use xD. So the matter is passive, the skill is up to us how to use the strategies.
No problem I'm glad you found it useful! The General can seem like too much to control when you have so much else going on but they are very important I find - have fun!
Hello! I have a separate guide which tells you the difference between Patriots and Generals at a castle ua-cam.com/video/DzOxYJkzkU0/v-deo.html here you go, I hope it's useful!
@@twiglets2 I'd say Russia, French and Britain are my top 3s. It's not obligatory to know everything, just your opinion/how does it feel to play that nation overall
@@lucutes2936 Thanks for the recommendation, I will look into putting a video together! Personally I enjoy the nations that do things a bit differently, and fortunately in RoN almost all of them have an interesting quirk to them! I enjoy Britain for the wealth bonus and their more deadly towers as I like to play defensively, this game really deserves a remake!
I heard about a general's ability when you conquer that nation you should take a general or patriot to that nation's formal parliament and when they are near it there is a button appearing to make all enemy formal citizens and army yours. - But this button doesn't appear for me. Can you please tell me how to do it properly?
can u please make all the videos age wise i really need tu understand from 4th age and further on since its really tough to play online, u always win in AI but not online so i need some guidance to improve.
Hey man thanks for the comment, I'll add that to the list. A lot of people don't explore the later ages but they're really fun! I'll put something together in the near future :)

Excellent work, glad to see an old game getting some love!
It's about time the game got some recognition!
Super helpful. Thanks for the upload man, subbed

Cool
Has the patrion any difference with a general spawned in a castle?

Interesting, that's not something I'm aware of. Unless perhaps it's somewhere within a single player campaign and not in the multiplayer.
