I was blown away by the cranberries and mourned Dolores when she passed. my take on the song was she loved this man, he was a "player" and kept stringing her along, hence do you have to let it linger". that's my take anyway

The Cranberries were the soundtrack of my early 1990s days. I first discovered them from all places from the Real World San Francisco, which was the 3rd season of the iconic reality show. They were such a unique and hauntingly sounding band. Delores is so missed.

My hands down favorite song of hers is When Your Gone. It's beautiful. It was played at her funeral. She was a rare, gifted talented singer.

The album this song was on "Everybody else is doing it..... why shouldn't we?" is just brilliant from start to finish! Zombie came later but this labum was what established them as a band. I have lost count how many times I have played it from start to finish! The flow, the lyrics, the poetry of it, stunning!

I was in college when this song came out, and was in a situationship exactly like the one in this song. It got a LOT of airplay from me during that time lol. I still think of him when I hear this song, even 30 years later.

"Dreams" was the first Cranberries song I ever heard, and it's haunting. Honestly, every song I've heard by the Cranberries is haunting. Delores O'Riordan's voice just has that way about it.
Her like a lot of Irish singers it is the "Keening" that makes the sound as well as her terrific voice, RIP Dolores!
