I like the 2012 better. More traditional look yet lacks technology. Thanks for this great video to help me with decisions regarding these beautiful vetts..!!
Sold my C6 about 3 months ago, really miss it had a 2008 Z51 3LT coupe. It was a great car, loved it to death, but the interior quality is nothing like the new C7. I love both body styles. I think the C6 is more elegant, and the C7 is more aggressive. Cant wait to get my hands on a new C7, Great review guys, very in depth.
Like you, I like the looks of both the C6 and C7 Corvette. But I prefer the looks and driving dynamics of the C7 a bit more than that of the C6. I just think the C7 looks more athletic/exotic and, therefore, blends better with the looks of European exotics.
Thanks for time to do the comparison. I agree with most of your comments. I had a 2012 GS and now have a 2017 GS. New C7's tend to have 'orange peel' in some areas, none on my 2012. The 2012 had stiff steering which I didn't like. The 2017 if controllable. I like the easy-steering mode. The 2017 rides much better and is controllable by drive mode. My 2017 is faster which surprised me, my guess it is due to having a 8-speed vs. 6-speed. Sorry, but the C7's are much better than earlier models. My wife and I did find the seat-bottoms tight on the C7 vs C6. I am disappointed that GM needed add blind-spot dedection!!
No offense guys, the video is very in depth and great, but the fish eye is quite disturbing. I did love the video and really do not have any paint issues on my 2016. First thing I did was was and wax, paying attention to paint, and that is just me. I did notice a few slight texture changes from my 2011 convertible. Again great video.
Just picked up a 2012 Grand Sport myself almost 3 weeks ago. Traded in my 2015 Camaro 2SS. Absolutely love the Grand Sport. I do miss some of the technology. Like the remote start, backup camera, and mine is the 2LT so no heated seats. However, I am going to upgrade the Radio to get Car Play and will add a Camera. I sat in a 2017 Z06 and while the technology is nice I found the cockpit to be a bit tighter and a bit much. I don't care for the huge console and the handle that comes down by the passenger side is a bit over the top. Interesting so the new C7 doesn't shut like the C6? Guess they aren't as air tight? They had to do that with the C6 right at the end of development since the hatch wasn't shutting fully with the windows closed. There is a cool GM video about the making of the C6 and all the changes they were making up to the release of the car at the big car show. Is your Corsa a Cat back with the X-Pipe or is it an axle back?
You failed to mention you can pick up a low mileage Grand Sport today for under $35k while a brand new C7 Z51 is twice as much over $70k...is it twice the car? Not even close..is it a better car? Of course, aside from the styling which is subjective I personally like the styling of the GS better especially from the rear. Give me a blank check and I'll come back with the C7 however in reality I would take the GS and save $35+k
Why can’t I find a C6 Z06 that looks as good as your C6 GS 😭😭 what cosmetic mods do you have on it? Or maybe they did some aesthetic changes throughout the years of the 6th gen? Also how do you keep your C6 headlights so clean, all my buddies get fogged... are you just using covers? Great video !!
Thanks for the review !! was on the fence between c6 grand sport which is cheaper or used 2014 C7 now I want to ask you... do you prefer the 2012 GS or will you get rid of it for the C7 grand sport?
Zarkon I’m still debating on which looks better, I always hear non car people say the C7 looks leaps better when I ask what to get... but I just don’t get it
Your comment regarding the paint and fiberglass concerns have me nervous.....could you please elaborate? There is no way I will spend this kind of money for a car that has paint/fiberglass quality issues.
+rustynails113 what I have noticed on several new C7's is the fiberglass and paint are not as good as my old C6. Would this keep me from buying one - no - but I would sure look it over closely upon delivery. Keep in mind the color will have an influence on how noticeable the flaws are. What color are you thinking about?

I’m currently cross shopping these cars and this review was very helpful.
I’ve had both and prefer the 2012 grand sport, It looks better than the stingray.

If you had purchased the 4LT C6 interior the quality was superior.
I want the c6. I love its exterior. And I want the c8 in a few years

The interior in the c7 is just on another level night and day difference.

craig thomas I agree the C6 corvette grandsport is the best it's just my opinion
If you've owned or now own a C6 Grand Sport, going to a C7 Stingray is going backwards in desirability.
I would say even still, the C7 is slower at the top-end and the C6 is faster stock 0-100.

Buy new headlights. Or sand and buff them, then shoot clear on em
2012 RIMS Way !!!!!!!! Better
The difference between an elegant sports car (2012) and a Conestoga wagon.
"Some people like the new tail light look" Yeah Camaro owners. LOL
I like them both but I think I'll keep my 2011 GS.
Thanks for the review !! was on the fence between c6 grand sport which is cheaper or used 2014 C7 now I want to ask you... do you prefer the 2012 GS or will you get rid of it for the C7 grand sport?
I don't think air goes in through the rear vents on the stingray due to a higher position and how the air flows.. they should left it the old way
Z51 stingrays, GS and Z06 do have functional venting in rear the aids in cooling rear differential and trans.
The drivers side also looks more cramped on the C7 as well as the passenger.
putting those two together th c7 look ugly compare to the c6 hahaha
Zarkon I’m still debating on which looks better, I always hear non car people say the C7 looks leaps better when I ask what to get... but I just don’t get it
Excellent review guys...thanks.
this is a trick question

+driveradio Red, blue or white...in that order of preference.
Thanks for responding.
+rustynails113 GM is in the process of constructing a new paint facility for the 2018 model year. You might be better off to wait for that.
Kinda want a base LS2 C6 lol
I bought a lambo and a corvet
Watched for several minutes and this is not a quality review. Very home made feel to it.
