- I have myself a 2016 Focus ST1, and I have ordered the Cobb Stage 1 package which includes a cone filter, the access port tuner, and the rear motor mount. This is my first drive after installing the filter and a stage 1 93 octane tune. The motor mount will be installed at a latter date!
My access port came a few days ago...I’m only running stage 1 93 but holy crap I’m giggling like a school girl
Thanks for the video! But please do not make that hard of pulls with the Oil Temperature that low :( Hard on the whole engine and especially the turbo :O
thanks for the tip, i dont do that anymore lol i let it all warm up nicely
I wait until the engine temp and the turbo temp are at their normal temperature . I also look at the oil pressure on the turbo it will start high and then stabilise about mid scale . When all of those look stable then do some pulls
at minute 1:48 you can hear the sound of gear head having a cargazim
Please keep us updated mate! Get my st in sep I want just the intake for the noise
will do I just did a resonator/muffler delete yesterday so when I'm done with work today I'll get a video up
ACTUALLY A GOOD VIDEO THANKS FOR GOOD INFO
That STI @3:15
listen to 4:30/4:36 with your eyes closed lol
can you blame me, it was my first time lol
BrendoST sweet vid man keep it up I'm getting rid of my 400 whp focus st I'm getting an rs o cant wait!!
If I could afford it I would be driving an RS right now lol. At my current setup im stage 3 full boltons, next step is big turbo but first Im thinking coilovers and wheels before I continue adding more power.
BrendoST yea im at e85 big turbo i already drove the rs and god does it feel slow to just a stage 2 focus at lol
Lol bro this comment had me dead wtf
Awesome thank you I just ordered it. Will it make it louder then it already is even with the cold air and exhaust already on it?
That I am not sure, unless you went with stratified tune with crackles and pops exhaust tune. which if you were curious about is the most recent video on my channel
I said exactly the same thing when I went stage 1 lol night and day difference. Just wait until you go stage 3 ;)
I got some time before that. I did all the cheap mods now everything is getting expensive lol
Yeah I know what you mean. $3500 later. If you're looking for performance, I def recommend going with an intercooler next. Steeda makes a good one and its half as much as the COBB one. www.steedafocus.com/steeda-focus-st-front-mount-intercooler-street-comp-13-15-st-555-3704/
+STicky while they do make a good ic the reason I like Cobbs is because they give you the charge pipes. also why their price is a little more, if you factor in those I'd say they cost about the same.
Oh ok, it looks very Midwest. How you enjoying your ST? My 2015 is amazing.
I love the power, but I miss my darts interior.
Dodge Dart??? I Have the ST3 package, it's stellar.
+Thomas Whitmore yeah I went from a dart gt to an st1 package, so I don't have all the nice comforts I had.
BrendoST - curious how your reliability has been since adding the boltons.
Considering an ST as my next vehicle with the intention of a COBB accessport and intake soon after purchase.
as of 22k miles on the car now at full stage 3, there are no driveability or reliability issues. However there are little quirks of ford that they need to look into, like my mirror cap lenses broke off due to moisture and little interior things I dont like as they wear. but drivetrain is sound
How is this car suited to a tall guy? I got to test drive it but can't tell how would be to live with one as a daily...
im 6'4 and fit fine. I dont even have the seat all the way back. plenty of headroom. Though I do not have the moonroof, that may take some headroom away.
I'm 6'2 & I've got a moonroof, no issues at all with headroom. As for passengers in the back seat, it's a tight fit, but you'll fit fine up front.
Probably too late. But being 5’11 I can’t even put my seat all the way back. My buddies 6’2 and tall waisted. He has to lean the passenger seat back because that seat doesn’t lower but he’s comfortable. And don’t believe what anybody says. We’re both large framed and chubby and the recaros are plenty comfortable. It’s no Mercedes but you won’t be uncomfortable at all.
Do you have the stock bypass valve on or was this taken with a blow off valve
this video I still had the stock bypass valve.
this video I still had the stock bypass valve.
this video I still had the stock bypass valve.
Oh okay thanks. That filter really changes that sound
+trainmaster101 yes it does, imagine what an actual cai will do replacing the factory piping!
Hey do you have exhaust or is it the stock exhaust on this video?
On this particular video, it is the stock exhaust system.
BrendoST so i have a k&n filter like that and just took the resonator off, its safe to say ill notice a difference in the car with the 93 octane tune?
Going from stock to a cobb ots tune you will defiantly notice a difference.
BrendoST sweet cool man thank you, have you done any other mods to yours?
Yeah by now I am full stage 3 running a deadhook motorsport e30 tune
Are you running stock intercooler?
Yes stock fmic. Cobb stage 1 is just a drop in filter and motor mount
Did you install a catch can?
Will Page not yet, it’s on the to do list.
Where in the Midwest do you live?
I don't live Midwest I am in western New York
+BrendoST jelious
whats the difference between stage 1 and 2 and 3? I have a 2016 focus st with borla exhaust and mountune cold air intake. Should i get this product and what tune??
really it depends on who your looking at, cobb lists their stages on packages. stage 1 is just filter and tune, stage 2 would be frontmount catback and intake, stage 3 would add a downpipe. But this is just cobbs interpretation of stages. others may be the same or differ
I'm stage 1 with my Fiesta ST cobb tuned its world of difference
Dodge needs to make an SRT version of the Dart.
they do but unfortunately they are stopping production on the dart and 200...
Thomas Whitmore you mean fiat haha
Hey take off the little carpet under the hood it makes the turbo and turbo flutter sound much much louder it’s crazy
CLITEASTWOOD88 I believe you’re talking about the insulation. That’s a really good way to ruin the paint on your hood faster lol
knifelover73 ok lol is someone going to open ur hood and complement ur paint job under ur hood 😂
CLITEASTWOOD88 No... but they might compliment the fact you still have all the clear coat on the top of it... ever see the cars running around with clear coat only missing on the hood.
knifelover73 lmao why would anyone compliment that u still have all the paint on ur under hood lol😂
Did you not read me say the top of the hood...
So would a stage one tune make a difference with my exhaust and cold air intake??
Yes you would notice a difference, but after doing some research, the cobb OTS tunes give you minimum gains compared to a flash tune from another place. you still need the access port to get these tunes. and you can usually get the tune free if you order the access port from them directly. like stratified auto, or freektune
