    Wow! Definitely need a Dyno tune. Stock internals full bolt on. Stock fuel system well that is until tomorrow. I’m installing an aero motive 340 L per hour in tank fuel pump. Very interested in the XDI high-pressure fuel pump. Think that would help some of the fuel issues. I’ve already had to replace the factory high-pressure fuel pump at 48,000 miles. It just rolled over 50,000 miles last week. That was the first week of May. I wish you were local here in Houston Texas area.

      There is about 10 to 15% lost to drivetrain and about 15 to 20% lost to elevation. The dyno corrects for elevation but not drivetrain. This car makes 220 to 230 whp stock on our dyno.

      Walnut blasting the valves to get them nice and clean is another good thing to do for a high mileage ST. But, after changing fluids and plugs and if compression checks out, you are likely good to go.

    • @EdgeAutosport
      @EdgeAutosport  3 роки тому +3

      Jason, there is definitely value in it but if you rely on it too heavily, like the other commenter suggests, it becomes a slippery slope. If you're using it just for some cooling and cleaning effect, it's a pretty safe bet. I think a lot of people take a cheaper route when it comes to methanol injection and it can get them in trouble. Get a nice kit that works well. AEM and Snow are a couple brands we sell, and people seem to have success with those.

      When you uninstall the AP it flashes cobb's saved factory tune back onto your car. This is perfectly fine, because ford uses the same calibration on every car. So, all stock ecu maps are the same for the Focus ST so there is no need to do the download of your car's map. The map that Cobb provides is identical. When you select uninstall it will put your ecu back to stock, so you can just skip the ecu download.

    Is there a fuse or something you can unplug so the injectors don't pump fuel?

    • @EdgeAutosport
      @EdgeAutosport  2 роки тому +1

      There is, yes. You can pull a fuse, or the relay. You will want to relieve the pressure before working on fuel components

    My buddy just picked up an Accessport for the ST he just got, he also has an intercooler he hasnt installed and a few other bolt ons that arent on the car yet, besides just an air filter. While helping him get the Accessport and MAP's loaded, I realized that the Stage 0 map is for 87 octane. Thats probably why your OAR was out of wack, more towards 0 instead of -1, since Im assuming you have 91 or 93 in the car. I put the 93 octane Stage 1 Cobb OTS tune on my buddy's AP just because of that, but he does have an air filter so I guess thats "stage 1"

      Higher octane will cause OAR to go to -1 faster. But its likely setup to be more conservative so that people can safely run lower octane without issues.

    Why is the max hp @ 17:29 so low compared to the official claims of 252hp? Is this because of the COBB stage 0 map? The torque is up by about 18 ft-lb from 270 official claims from Ford, so is that why? It seems pretty wild to lose about 30hp....I'm assuming it varies from car to car? I guess some manufacturers overestimate their numbers? Even @ 19:01 it's still only showing 238hp, 14hp below the stock figures Ford claims. Just curious.....doubt you'll see this since it's from ~2 years ago, but figured I'd drop a comment anyway lol.

      Wheel horsepower vs crank horsepower. Cars are advertised with crank horsepower vs a dyno that will show you a good marker of what your car is actually making.

      Dyno numbers vary greatly depending on the day, barometric pressure, altitude, Mercury in retrograde, fuel quality, tire condition, etc
