The ONLY positive I can think of for a non-laminated display is repairability. If the glass breaks but the digitizer part is still good. You can easily replace just the glass for much cheaper.

Yeah. I got the iPad Air 3 last month for $499 with FREE AirPods! I don’t regret it. I bought it as a complement for my laptop since we are having virtual classes in my country at least until December . I’m in high school and it is more than enough for me. It is my first apple product and I absolutely love it.
I'm getting the 8th gen 128GB as my first Apple device. The 64GB Air 3 is a bit expensive in my part of the world where it costs $150 more than the 128GB iPad 8. True Tone, the laminated display and the wider colour gamut do not justify the considerable gap in price + storage FOR ME. So, as long as the 8 has the same A12 chip with a beautiful screen - air gap and all - and it comes with a faster charger I'm fine. Nice video, I'm a new subscriber.
I personally wouldn't sacrifice all that for extra storage. 64GB is still enough for me. So I'd rather pay an extra $50 or whatever, for the Air 3. That said. The iPad 8 is truly a great device too. Much better than the way behind iPad 7, who had the A10 chip.

Air 3 supports bluetooth 5 while the regular Ipad only has 4.2 These are important factors atleast for me. 1.2mp is not capable of transmitting 1080p image during video calls.
Finally a video comparison of this two. 128gb iPad 8th here in our country has the same price now with the base iPad Air 3 (64gb) both brand new. Laminated display plus slimmer bezel and body convinced me to purchase the Air.
I was going to buy an iPad 8 128GB for 469€ in Germany, because 32GB is to less. Then I saw an open box iPad Air 3 64GB on Amazon Warehouse for 439€ and did buy it. My girlfriend will use it for note taking and she has some trouble to look at a screen for a long period, so with True Tone it should be easier and the laminated screen is definitely a plus !

Either choice Apple will provide updates and support for nearly a decade. And both chips are advanced enough to deliver enough performance for that decade. It’s awesome.
I just want to put in the reason I will never buy a standard iPad, ever since I’ve used a laminated display, I CAN NOT go back. I also have a 256GB air 3 and it’s become my main computer and sold my MacBook recently
@@moises1228 If you start only with non-lamintated display, it's not actually that bad and perfectly useable (unless you use it for drawing with apple pencil which people said that it's really noticeable, but I didn't draw so can't really comment on that). thanks for this review. I'm pretty tight in budget, so i decided to have a used ipad air 3 for lightroom/photoshop use, reading ebooks and university stuffs. That true tone feature is something i really need.
I think one problem with having laminated displays as an upsell is that most people have no idea what that means, even though the user experience is markedly improved by it.
I am happy with my iPad Pro 10.5 with the A10X. I am using it for 1 year now and it’s still as fast as a new Generation iPad for the things I’m using it. I don’t need Video Cut or some high performance things. I sold my Samsung Tab S4 for this and I never missed anything of the Samsung Tab.
So I just watched this video and went right away to the Apple store and got the iPad Air 3 NEW + Airpods 2 with the education promotion. This is a better value I think, right? Especially that I might just sell the airpods for 150 or 145 and save on the price of the iPad.
So I just sold the airpods for 200 CAD. That means that with tax included, I paid 50 CAD more to get the iPad Air (500 vs 450 CAD). which is around 38 USD. So $38 for a slightly bigger and laminated display, 64 GB storage vs 32 and a better front camera is not a bad deal. Although I really wanted the new faster charger.. But I am happy with my choice nonetheless.
I appreciate the speaker test. I'm always watching movies and listening on the ipad even while taking a shower. A louder speaker comes in handy and a bigger screen. So I may get the Air 3.
Picked up a 128gb 8th Gen on offer for £360 in the UK, the bezel issue doesn’t make any difference for me as this is a secondary device. The air gap/non laminated display is not an issue as I only use Pencil for note taking. 8th gen is a great device, plenty of discounts out there if you look, which makes it really exceptional value.
I want to buy an iPad Air 3, but there are a lot of people who own an iPad Air 3 who say that the iPad Air 3 has a problem with touching the screen. Is this real?
Bro if u search too harshly I saw it written somewhere on sources that the life of air Due to its better screen and better build, is 2.5 years more than a normal ipad , the ipad air also has a better cooling system , a bigger battery and all into a thin aesthetic build , So go for ipad air , don't give a second thought to it Thank Me Later 🙄😉😁
Just got the 8 in a early black friday promo by apple store, right now the price gap between the ipad 8 and the air 3 is close to 200usd in my country!!! It'll bee my first apple in years because the last one was an used powerbook. Believe it was a good choice, the closest price option was the Samsung Tab 6.
Hello! Can anyone please suggest which one is better? I have never use any apple products before. Between air 3 with 64GB and 8th gen with 128GB which one would you suggest? I am a student btw. Thank youuu
same concern, i hope to get an answer with this! idk if i should wait for the 9th gen too. i kinda want the old design of ipad’s so Ipad Air 4 not my option and too much on my budget.
@@feyvrn hiii! I actually have bought mine last year and decided on ipad air 3. However, after a while, i kinda regret it since its only 64GB and the differences between both model are very few. Oh and there is not much difference between the prices of the two in my country. So if the memory space is one of your concern, i definitely suggest you to go for ipad 8th! Or maybe just wait for the 9th 😜
Outdated just because of the home button? The ipad air 4 also has a home button just a different placement. Doesnt even make sense getting rid of the home button if face ID isnt in it.
Well this is a big upgrade I’m using a iPad Air 2 right now and it gets REALLY HOT which feels like I have a oven in my hand and it crashes sometimes I’m getting the 8th gen for my birthday because I’ve had this iPad for 5 years now since it came out in 2015 and I got it in January 2016
I dont know wich of this two buy but I think I would go for the iPad 8th gen only because it’s a 2020 device that will support iPadOS 14 and the following iPadOS that will appear as the years go by (I think the 8th will support better those ios compared with the Air 3 that’s a 2019 device). Also is cheaper and I can buy it on a store, it’s not refurbished as the Air 3. But still, I’m not 100% sure of wich one to buy.
I have an iPad Air 2 that I bought in 2016 and I would like to upgrade. I don’t what to choose between iPad 8th Gen 128 GB or iPad Air 3 64 GB. My iPad right now is 64 GB and I sometimes run out of stockage... is there a big difference between a laminated screen and a basic screen like the 8th Gen? Will a see a difference?
Really, really great video man. Thank you for not plugging your own channel too hard, and for getting right into the nitty gritty of what we need to expect in the differences of these two devices. I just pulled this up before I walked into the store to go look at ipads, and you answered all of my questions satisfactorily (Southpark reference for those who catch it). Nicely done! I rarely sub to tech channels but you earned it.
Now that they release an Ipad Air 4, how much would it cost to buy the ipad air 3? I’m waiting for my country to have an ipad 8th gen but I’ve changed my mind after watching this vid.
Can anyone tell me, is there really a big difference btwn laminated and non laminated display , or it is unnoticeable?? I haven't used either of them, so i dont knw anything.
At Best Buy the 64GB Air 3 is the same price as the 128GB iPad 8th gen. If I don’t need a ton of storage, is the Air the better deal? Spec wise, it seems so. Thanks for any thoughts
i was actually expecting a performance review from you since you already compared the ipad 7th gen vs the ipad 8th gen. Please make a video comparing the ipad air 3 vs ipad 8th gen performance wise like gaming, note taking and video editing
Thank you so much for this comparation, I got the iPad 8th gen 128GB, because I will usually use it for work, basic stuff and travel (not for now due to the pandemic) but I was thinking on getting the iPad Air 3rd gen or the newer one nothingless, I really love my purchase decision because I still have the option to do amateur photo, video editing and more, and still use that money on buying iPad accessories, apps and save money for the next iPhone 12. And let's see if next year I will get the iPad Air series.
Thanks for the video and removing my confusions. I don’t want to compromise features in IPad Air 3 for 64gb extra memory in IPad 8 so going with IPad Air 64 gb which is a good enough memory.
@@prithadas9774 Yea I got one. The non laminated screen is only noticeable if you compare it with the other iPads. The screen quality is amazing. The experience has been amazing as well. I took it mostly for making music(since new ways of making music inspires you to write more) and I was surprised by the quality of apps and games(mainly apple arcade that comes free for 3 months) apple has. I used to hate apple lol but you cant go wrong with the iPad 8 :)
Another difference would be the battery life, I don’t know big of a difference it would make but the 10.2 would have better battery life for sure. It has the same processor as the Air but the battery is bigger in the 10.2.
Hi Noah - i want iPad just for note taking and surfing purpose or sometime watching videos online, is 64 GB enough for note taking purpose & storing pdf, Which is my primary purpose. Which one should I buy? Laminated 64 or Non Laminated 128. B'caz I m getting new Air 3 not used one. That's why...
Everybody seems to have forgotten about the 3rd gen ipad 3 with 10.5" ...except Noah. Thanks for the review. Compared to the 10.2" ipad or the 10.9" air or the 11" pro the 10.5" looks like an awesome deal.
Is the laminated display so important? I'm going to buy a new iPad and I don't know which one to choose. I have to use it to take note and study and I don't know if it's worth spending 150 euros more for a lamineted display. What do you suggest? The difference is notaceble?
Since the iPad 7th and 8th gen have the same front and back quality. Just want to ask to those who have the 7th gen, is it enough for zoom meetings? Like does the front camera enough for you to at least give a clearer quality than an average laptop camera?
@Ken88 For my case, i am going to use the iPad for online classes. I mean, it's fine for me if it isn't HD quality. The reason why i asked if it has better camera than an average laptop is because my laptop has potato quality camera. So, is it safe to say that the new iPad 8th gen is enough for a student that would undergo online video classes? Again, i'm just down for a budget iPad with a camera that isn't that much of a potato as my laptop
Definitely go for the 128g its really bad when you run out of storage. I said the same thing to a friend and he got the 64g and now he is complaining constantly about not having enough storage
@TECHTORMA I just went for the 256 gig and never look back. It also really depends on what you're going to use it for I use it for making music and I have a lot of files

Hello i am really confused between those 2 ipad cause i will get the ipad only for digital art and i would definatly get the ipad air 3 because for me its better , but i have heard that the ipad air 3 have touching problems is that true?
Hi Noah, thanks for your excellent videos -- very helpful. I tried an ipad 7 some time ago, and the pencil was so loud on the screen that I didn't feel I could take notes in our super-quiet university library. Could you tell me how the pencil noise on the iPad 8's unlaminated screen compares to any noise on the Air 3's laminated screen? Thanks!
Hi! Speaking from personal experience, the iPad Air 3’s screen is A LOT quieter, even when tapping, but I am using a matte screen protector, so I’m not sure if that helps with the Apple Pencil tapping loudness or not. For reference, think of knocking on a hollow surface vs a dense surface.
@@nemochi Thanks for this, Nemochi. I waited several months before doing anything. The iPad Air 4 came on a good sale, I brought it home and tried it out with a good clone pencil (I don’t draw or do any kind of artwork), and liked it so much I kept it. I put a paperfeel protector on the screen, and I concur with you 100% - it is much quieter and the response is so much better. Thanks again for commenting!
hey in India, currently the difference between iPad Air 3 64GB wifi and iPad 8th gen 128gb wifi only difference is ₹4000 which is According to current rate is $55. Should I consider buying the iPad air 3? I mean they both have same accesories and iPad os 14 and extra 64gb I can comprise.
I'm a college student, and I take digital notes with my tab S6 lite, which I went with over the base level iPad because of that nasty airgap on the iPad. It's a shame, because iPad OS is so much nicer then android on a tablet. Solid vid.
@@hehehehe6179 The performance on the tab s6 lite is not great, but it gets the job done. The design is sleek and modern, and the build quality is amazing for the price. The stylus performance is great, better then the base iPad (base iPad has an Airgap) but not as good as the iPad air 3. Battery is amazing. I would say if you want to do any gaming or use chrome a ton, get an iPad. But if you take digital notes and want a nice modern design and are ok with just passable performance, get the Tab S6 Lite. Hope that helped. Good Luck!
The iPad Air 2019 is My First iPad and i am 44 years old🙈 A Long time i Look comparsions of Any iPad, iPad vs Samsung, iPad vs iPad and on and on. And the Price is 100$ More then the 8 But 100-140$ less the new iPad Air. For me Personal the iPad Air 3 ist the perfekt iPad.

@@mjtbaalzady5891 it used to have it but the software fixed It. If it ever happens just force restart the device. Or clean the screen
@@YoungCarWiz thats mean it is ok there is no problem thank you bro ❤️❤️❤️
@@mjtbaalzady5891 your welcome 😁
Bro I’ve been struggling with this question ever since they dropped the 8th Gen. do I get a 128 iPad 8th Gen or a 64 iPad Air 3rd Gen LEGEND
Air
Bro if u search too harshly
I saw it written somewhere on sources that the life of air
Due to its better screen and better build, is 2.5 years more than a normal ipad , the ipad air also has a better cooling system , a bigger battery and all into a thin aesthetic build ,
So go for ipad air , don't give a second thought to it
Thank Me Later 🙄😉😁
Air
Mathu Campbell air. It’s a wonderful device
Air
an also Air has DCI-P3 display while 8th does not have it.
Plus the Air 3 supports Dolby Vision videos standard thanks to the better screen specs
That’s not a deciding factor.
Yess
Just got the 8 in a early black friday promo by apple store, right now the price gap between the ipad 8 and the air 3 is close to 200usd in my country!!! It'll bee my first apple in years because the last one was an used powerbook. Believe it was a good choice, the closest price option was the Samsung Tab 6.
كانت أجمل صدفه اني دخلت قناتك (مبدع) It was the most beautiful coincidence that I entered your channel (creator)
FINALLY... I was searching for this from yesterday
@@hehehehe6179 hellooo!
Can’t you get a iPad Air 3 from apples refurbished section?
My iPad Pro 9.7” 1st works great! Other than the size, I doubt most people would be able to tell a difference.
I don't know if it's me but this video in itself is aesthetically pleasing
Nopes . Air 3 will run iOS 14 exactly the same as iPad but the experience on air 3 will be far better due to the screen .
I'm planning to buy an Ipad for my drawing. But which one is better for drawing? Ipad 8th gen with 128gb or Ipad air with 64gb
Ipad 10th generation will have this Ipad air design?? ill totally buy it!
Can anyone tell me, is there really a big difference btwn laminated and non laminated display , or it is unnoticeable?? I haven't used either of them, so i dont knw anything.
Laminated is better
But is the iPad Air 3 still on sale tho?
At Best Buy the 64GB Air 3 is the same price as the 128GB iPad 8th gen. If I don’t need a ton of storage, is the Air the better deal? Spec wise, it seems so. Thanks for any thoughts
The iPad Air 3 is the better tablet. It's very similar but has features the 9th gen iPad won't have.
Which one should I bought
IPad 8 gen 128gb
IPad air 4 64gb
IPad pro 2020 11 inch 128gb
Please tell
IPad Air 2 vs ipad 8th gen plz.
Please compare air3 and air4
I was searching for this video 1h ago and I wasn’t finding anything but yo thanks for be the first one to upload this one!!
i was actually expecting a performance review from you since you already compared the ipad 7th gen vs the ipad 8th gen. Please make a video comparing the ipad air 3 vs ipad 8th gen performance wise like gaming, note taking and video editing
Dude they have the same processor
@@Queeshandle Yes I know that but its better to see how each one performs in each model to make an informed decision when buying 😁
Yep same problem 🙏

Do a comparison of iPad Air 3 vs iPad Air 4
This was exactly the video I was looking for! Thanks so much!
Thank you so much for this comparation,
I got the iPad 8th gen 128GB, because I will usually use it for work, basic stuff and travel (not for now due to the pandemic) but I was thinking on getting the iPad Air 3rd gen or the newer one nothingless, I really love my purchase decision because I still have the option to do amateur photo, video editing and more, and still use that money on buying iPad accessories, apps and save money for the next iPhone 12.
And let's see if next year I will get the iPad Air series.
I think I'll still go with the iPad Air 4, I just can't with the 1st gen apple pencil charging style.
Rex091 it isn’t very bad. You get used to it. I prefer a home button on an iPad because it is better in my opinion. I don’t want a larger iPhone X 😅
in this video you've answering all my questions. thanks for that. my decision: ipad air!
I still have the original iPad Air on the wall
It replaced my light switches 😂😂
Can it run the home app well?
Ivandro Lameira whahah 😂😂
Anthony Plays more or less
It’s still on IOS 12.4
But works just fine
I still use my original iPad Air. Ow I really want to upgrade to the 4th gen
I still use iPad mini 2 is same as the Air 😂
Can you do ipad 9th gen vs ipad air 3 in the future?
Thanks for the video and removing my confusions. I don’t want to compromise features in IPad Air 3 for 64gb extra memory in IPad 8 so going with IPad Air 64 gb which is a good enough memory.
I was confused. I am affirmative I will buy the 8th gen 128 now :) Thank you Noah 🦸
hey did you buy it? how's your experience? is the non laminated screen noticeable?
@@prithadas9774 Yea I got one. The non laminated screen is only noticeable if you compare it with the other iPads. The screen quality is amazing. The experience has been amazing as well. I took it mostly for making music(since new ways of making music inspires you to write more) and I was surprised by the quality of apps and games(mainly apple arcade that comes free for 3 months) apple has. I used to hate apple lol but you cant go wrong with the iPad 8 :)
@@oneyellowpeacock this helped me decide! Thank you
You are extremely helpful ....Any new iPads are great. Any of the new ones offered today are great. I love your style of presenting Sir.
Excellent comparison 🔥👍
Love from India 🇮🇳
Another difference would be the battery life, I don’t know big of a difference it would make but the 10.2 would have better battery life for sure. It has the same processor as the Air but the battery is bigger in the 10.2.
Ken88 but in real world usage the 10.2 will last longer since it has a bigger battery.
Ken88 but it has the same chip as the iPad Air, so they would both use the same amount of power.
Would love a performance centric comparison between iPad Pro 2018 and iPad Air 4 since they both look so similar
FINALLYYYYYY I NEEDED THISSS
Storage or style?
iPad 8: I have none 😂😂😂😂😂😂
This seems like a random comparison but can you compare the iPad Pro 10.5 against the 8th gen
dude, he won't compare an iPad from 2017

I'm planning to buy a tablet for school stuff and digital art. I'm torn between ipad air 3 or xiaomi mi pad 5.
Actually the original iPad air had a 9.7 display. It wasn't until the iPad 7 that was released 2019 was the first iPad that had a 10.2 display.
What’s about with Apple Pencil response? Thanks.
i have been waiting for this comparison
This should be most liked tech VDO on UA-cam 😃 iwas very eager for this
Always wondered if screen protector is necessary
Hi! I’m buying an air 3! I kinda go confused? Which is better 8th gen or air 3?
Everybody seems to have forgotten about the 3rd gen ipad 3 with 10.5" ...except Noah. Thanks for the review. Compared to the 10.2" ipad or the 10.9" air or the 11" pro the 10.5" looks like an awesome deal.
Is the laminated display so important? I'm going to buy a new iPad and I don't know which one to choose. I have to use it to take note and study and I don't know if it's worth spending 150 euros more for a lamineted display.
What do you suggest? The difference is notaceble?
ipad 8th gen
If you video edit on the 8th gen with 32 gb, can you save the vids on a external ssd?
I really want the Air 3 but here in Mexico it's not available anymore AND at the same price of the 8 gen 128 gb. Feels bad man :/
Since the iPad 7th and 8th gen have the same front and back quality.
@Ken88 btw thank u for replying.
This video helps me a lot I was confused which to buy 128gb ipad or 64gb ipad air. Thanks 🤟👍
Definitely go for the 128g its really bad when you run out of storage. I said the same thing to a friend and he got the 64g and now he is complaining constantly about not having enough storage
@TECHTORMA I prefer to keep it on the iPad personally because if you haven't got any internet you haven't got any files.
@TECHTORMA I just went for the 256 gig and never look back. It also really depends on what you're going to use it for I use it for making music and I have a lot of files
Which one did you choose?
@@JasleenKaur-io1us I ended up going for the 12.9 2nd generation 250gb.

Can you do the comparison with ipad ver 8, vs Galaxy S6 lite?
I am stuck between chrome book and iPad what should I….???????
@@maryl.7226 Whoops, just noticed this was 11 months ago. Thanks for replying though!
hey in India, currently the difference between iPad Air 3 64GB wifi and iPad 8th gen 128gb wifi only difference is ₹4000 which is According to current rate is $55. Should I consider buying the iPad air 3? I mean they both have same accesories and iPad os 14 and extra 64gb I can comprise.
Finally someone who compared
Thank u brother
I'm a college student, and I take digital notes with my tab S6 lite, which I went with over the base level iPad because of that nasty airgap on the iPad. It's a shame, because iPad OS is so much nicer then android on a tablet. Solid vid.
Hi! Justt wanna ask, does your S6 work well? Im still contemplating between S6, air 3 and 8th gen 😩
Good Luck!
And not to do any self promoting, but I did do a video on the tab s6 lite's notetaking abilities on my channel.
The iPad Air 2019 is My First iPad and i am 44 years old🙈
A Long time i Look comparsions of Any iPad, iPad vs Samsung, iPad vs iPad and on and on.
But i think as a noob, When you Buy a new IPad the iPad Air 2019 is the way to go.
Its in the middle of the new iPad 8 and the new iPad Air 4.
And the Price is 100$ More then the 8 But 100-140$ less the new iPad Air.
For me Personal the iPad Air 3 ist the perfekt iPad.
Finally the video I wanted.
Can you make a comparison between the Air 3(A12 Bionic) and the 2017 ipad pro 10.5 inch(A10 fusion) does the difference of the processor is going to effect the performance? And what about future ipad OS update? im in a dilemma right now. I'm going to college this october and i needed something that can last me my whole 8 semester.
I saw another video comparing and the pro 10.5 is faster then the new Air
