The sincerity with which Christianity is treated in Faith is really nice. As someone who ditched the Catholic church due to the terrible actions of local priests, seeing priests as heroes in media really helps to heal a specific part of my soul.
@maya993 God Bless. I'll pray for you. Nobody should ever have had to go through what you did. Jesus still loves you, and I'm sure He would love for you to come home to Him.
@@maya993 I feel this exact sentiment so strongly. There's a part of me that mourns the loss that I'll never be able to connect with religion properly as all of my religious friends can, but it's media like FAITH that lets me interact and grapple with the ideas in a way that doesn't trigger my flight or fight response. So glad Airdorf is such a cool dude in that aspect.
I know Airdorf wants to make his own story for his scariest horror game but I think the style and gameplay of Faith would be perfect for a game of Blood Meridian, especially the Rotoscope scenes and some of the imagery of The Judge would blend perfectly
It sounds a tad bit corny, but Faith got me thinking about religion again. I played the game when I was still agnostic, not knowing if I truly believed in God or not. Faith getting me interested in religion again made me do some personal exploration. And now I am a believer again. To think, a game with Atari graphics influenced me to the point where I converted. How funny is that?
It’s not silly at all! A lot of people have a very childish view of spirituality, and it DOES turn away a lot of people. This game goes into detail of the deep elements of Christianity and the real horrors involved with Lucifer, demons, and sin itself with it taints our free will. Demons are HORRIFYING, and it’s really awesome to see Christians highlighting the very dark realities that exist in the physical world.
Man, this game has one of the best endings of all time. It only hits home after you realize how close John was close to success, but had to suffer thru infinitely much more because he initially traded his faith for fear. One single word just brought it all home. AMEN. Shivers.

i may not be a religious fan of Wendigoon and Airdorf but it's IMPOSSIBLE to not appreciate and learn about the connections to religion and redemption and faith, it's amazing!!!!!! thank u for this interview :D
i thought EXACTLY the same!! im agnostic and really not interested in spirituality for myself, but i deeply respect it for what it does for other people. and seeing all the passion and thought going into these references and parallels and all the deep meaning, not even 'just' spiritual but so deeply _human_ and personal, it is really moving and always will be infinitely better than any hollow imitation of those themes could possibly be.

As a catholic, this stuff is absolutely down my alley. This interview is so great thank you both for doing this!! I love how much of the symbolism and story parts Airdorf thought through and how much it delves into faith and the themes of our lives
As a fellow catholic, I love stories where Catholicism is portrayed as a force of good. I don’t get to see it enough so it makes me happy when we get it. Too often in media Catholicism is the butt of the “joke” and it’s so tiresome 😭😭

I can confidently say that as an atheist, the game does not come across as preachy and is in fact, fucking rad. Awesome interview and looking forward to Chapter 4!
for me, it's on the level of Prince of Egypt in terms of stories that are deeply about Christianity that i think have universal appeal - well, gore and spooks aside since obviously some people aren't about all that. i'm not religious nor spiritual either, but i think everyone wants to see John Ward succeed - doesn't matter who you are, you can clearly see that the cult's actions are heinous and horrifying! it's very cool, and i love it *particularly* because it's not using the faith on a tacky surface level. respectful and genuine, deep and interesting, and terrifying!!
Here is an interesting question for you Do you feel the religious themes of renewing faith were still kind of emotional and effective? It kind of gave me the same feeling as the end of the Grey which is a much more atheistic story about self reliance lol But since you are open about being an atheist I am interested in how you feel about the drama itself Feel free to answer my friend Coming from someone who believes in God but doesn't quite know why or how ha
@@johnstone2029 I personally still found it emotional and effective because I was invested in Father Ward as a character, so my personal beliefs (or lack thereof) is irrelevant in regards to his growth and arc.
I’m a deconstructed ex Baptist, I was seriously hurt by the church, but hearing you two talk and seeing this awesome work of art airdorf has made has made me so happy. So good to be reminded of the good parts of church and good believers ❤
It's a shame that the brethren we have are sometimes the stumbling blocks that cause other christians to fall and stumble... I hope that you're well despite what has happened
I'm seriously sorry to hear that. Please keep in mind that "christians" may not love but Christ definitely does. I was hurt by religion too, but He found me where I was at. My heart goes out to you.
As a hardcore Faith fan who has rewatched this game multiple times, I’m realizing how little I knew about Airdorf and about the themes in this game. This interview is amazing!
I was half expecting one of them to reference "it's really cute that you wanna defeat me with the power of friendship or whatever, but then again, I am THE Devil from THE Bible" during the whole being-of-light-appearing-to-John segment.
As a catholic i appreciate how he handled everything. It's always nice to have Christian unity were we can at aside doctrinal differences and focus on the important things like the message of christ and the power of God and forgiveness. God bless you Wendi and Airdorf! Ps: we do have married priests, but they are very rare
Doesn't that have something to do with integrating disgruntled Lutheran ministers into Catholicism, or are there married priests who were Catholic for their whole ministry?

I LOVE that Airdorf compared the possible sequel with John and Garcia running around and hunting demons to Supernatural, because that is literally the first thing that came to mind when I saw that scene.
Honestly, the idea that both Faith and Dusk are in the same universe would explain why the FBI hasn’t gotten involved after 490 babies went missing. They’re overloaded with all the other shit going on in that messed-up world.
The whole 490 missing babies would be much easier to explain if the clinic WAS actually an abortion clinic. As dark as it sounds: What's a better sacrifice than someone no one is going to miss? Sedate the woman, induce birth with drugs, then keep the premature baby.
Well he makes it clear that it wasn't his main intention you know. He wanted to make it big by doing that but he clearly put a ton of passion into it lol

For real, when creators ignore that aspect of the creative process, it isn't giving you the full picture of what influenced it's creation. I appreciate him saying that, because it gives me such a clearer lense to see these new indie games through. Most of the games i like, the devs would never dream of going this into detail abojt how the game was made, but that part is so interesting to me. Makes WAY more sense why a lot of other... less well made games😅 fall into a lot of the same old tropes, while Faith stays feeling fresh. I think he did a GREAT job of balancing streamablity and playabitly without sacrificing the games quality.
the idea of father garcia scaring up john into doing his work while dressed as clown is hilarious ngl, id lose it... bonus points if using the shotgun as well for extra effectiveness
Yea over here in Southeast Asia, black magic and hauntings and paranormal things are very common especially in rural areas lmao like people talk about seeing tuyuls or genderuwos or pocongs or kuyangs like talking about the weather. Sending hexes and curses to someone is very widely practiced, that people know what to look for when weird things happen, such as: go around your house or your shop and dig around, and you'll probably find a packet of soil (usually soil from someone's grave) or a clump of hair wrapped inside a paper with spells written on it. I was very close to my Grandma, possibly closer to her than my mother. She was very religious and was a pastor for 50+ years who had a doctorate in theology. She learned Hebrew, Aramaic, and Greek and she mentored and helped a lot of people, learning the Bible in all its forms and trying to spread kindness. She passed in 2021 from a brain tumor. I felt so guilty because I had never felt connected to my faith or even understood the appeal despite trying my entire life, it just never gave me a sense of comfort, it felt like I was always putting on a mask. I was a self-proclaimed agnostic. FAITH made me cry. While I am still agnostic, it’s helped me understand a lot more and relate to John’s struggles in the journey, and I feel like my grandma would love the work you guys put out, so thank you.

As a fellow Baptist, I love your videos, Wendigoon. And, as a confessional Baptist, I especially love that airredorf shied away from the 2cv in the games. Y’all are awesome.
1:21:00 that talk about how the 80s were legitimately a dangerous era just reminds me of the story my family casually LAUGHS ABOUT regarding my birth in 86: my uncle was in high school (16 but not driving yet) and came home to a note on the table letting him know where everyone had gone (mom still lived at home, her parents took her to the hospital when she went into labor). he ran back outside to ask the friend who had just dropped him off to drive him to the hospital, which was only about 12 miles away, but the friend refused even when my uncle offered him the pizza money my grandparents had left for him as gas money because it involved crossing a bridge that could be a hassle at that time of day. he and two of the other guys in his friend group just... started walking, hoping for the best. foot traffic was illegal on the bridge, and when they got close an older guy in a beat up volkswagen bus pulled over and offered to give them a ride over the bridge and further as long as it was the same direction he was headed, they just... got in, hoping if the guy didn't have a gun and that if he was otherwise shady they could overpower him and get away since they outnumbered him. thankfully he was just a harmless hippie who took the same leap of faith by offering the ride to three teenage metalheads who could have absolutely robbed him, and they were uneventfully dropped off a block from the hospital to finish the walk, which my grandparents were impressed and horrified about (grandpa immediately went digging for change in his car and made my uncle's friends call their parents from the payphone outside so they could explain to their parents why they were at a hospital two towns away but perfectly fine and figure out how to get home since he didn't want to miss my birth to drive my uncle's idiot friends home, as they would need to make more than one trip to get that many people back to the house).
I was born in 85....I cherish that we got to draw breath and create memories pre-millenium/turn of the century into this new age of relentlessly pathetic, despicable, decaying quintessence of human life. Those days of what seems to us now as dice-rolling, adventurous freedom held vastly more heart, soul, common sense, and decency than our modern oppressively regulated and enforced,, perpetually-infantile safety state rife with shrinking cowards full of insecurity and internal strife, handed everything yet more empty than ever.
@@TupDigital uhhh you ok bro? not sure where you get "vastly more heart, soul, common sense, and decency" from "my uncle was ABSURDLY lucky he didn't get murdered while the rest of the family were distracted by my birth, but at least everyone old enough to remember that day laughs about it now". my grandfather had good reason to make every one of my uncle's friends IMMEDIATELY go call their parents from the nearest phone. the 80s were the peak decade for serial killer activity in the US. the head of a missing girl from a neighboring town had turned up on the side of the road next to where the godparents of my mom & uncle lived just a few years earlier. it's easy to be nostalgic for a time when we were children who didn't realize how terrifying the world actually was, but ffs wendigoon did a Serial Killer Iceberg on his main channel.
2:31:36 when i read "San la Muerte" in the notes I was like "It can't be THAT San la Muerte... right?" but finding out that it really was the same San la Muerte that some relatives worship was a great surprise (and that Airdorf even visited Argentina too) I hope to see more Argentinian culture reference in the next chapter (something about El Gauchito Gil maybe?) really love Faith and Wendi :)
I think it is funny how Airdorf told that boy that Yahweh wouldn't scare him the way San La Muerte did when Yahweh of the Bible is way more scary and cruel then San La Muerte. Though admittedly my favorite Latin American Death Deity is Santa Muerte from Mexico. She is kind of like their version of our Kali Ma In Hindiusm.
@@goora1866 But isn't the god of the old testament Yahweh's father so both of them are in cohoots and are part of the same godhead? Unless of course you are a Gnostic.
The whole thing about John's note was wow, because I thought he was being unintentionally gaslit by the psychiatrist cause to the psychiatrist the whole story would seem like john has major delusions, despite all of it being real. Though slightly disappointed Wendi never asked about the "fight it John" line, cause it has a similar color to the being of light, and I don't think satan would want John to fight back.
That's because the voice saying "FIGHT IT, JOHN" isn't Satan, it's God (or a guardian angel). If you remember Airdorf and Wendigoon mention several verses of 'Satan appearing with the guise of an angel', the figure of light that John pleaded to on the initial exorcism was Satan, who was in the guise of a holy being. Also, Satan is named "The Father of All Lies", and he WAS one of God's most beautiful archangels before he fell, taking a third of all the angels down with him. So to summarize: Satan took the form of the being of light during the initial exorcism, and the voice is actually God (or his guardian angel) telling John to fight the demon during the Alu fight.
It's really nice to know that, whether John went to live a mentee life with Garcia or live a more peaceful life with his sister, that both would be the Good Ending for his character and arc. :')
as a person who already not going to church or believe in church for long time due to religion trauma, playing FAITH the series is kinda slightly heal my soul a little bit. it makes me believe there's a priest who really put their dedication to learn, and use the value of christianity to really protect others and deliver the true sense of "peace", " kindness", "the Loves of God/the Whisper of God". and it really captures perfectly of human struggling to make their faith stand strong. FATHER GARCIA IS BALLIN, AND FATHER JOHN IS AMAZING OMG.
Hearing you talking about miracles, it makes me think about how hard its been to believe in them. I have been trying to get a teaching job for a year. Applying left and right I finally had an interview that I felt went well. As it has been such a challenge I honestly cant even comprehend actually getting the job even though it did. I feel like that will be a miracle. Its been a rough few years, but hearing you talk about it helps, I hope god is out there and he cares about my life.
God Bless. It's not super easy for Christians either, I have times when I don't "feel it". But that's OK, merely having uncertainties and bad feelings isn't a sin. I've decided just to trust Him and face the unknown (to me, anyway) future one day at a time. 'Sufficient unto the day is the evil thereof". Luke 12:6-7 is a favourite if mine as well - God cares about and pays attention to even something as small as a single sparrow, so He surely will not ignore us, His beloved.
The crazy thing is that you might not get the job and that fact in itself can turn into a miracle. It’s dumbfounding what God will do to bring you closer to Him, and anything that does that is truly the miracle.
Airdorf's pleasant sense of humor is refreshing, and nostalgic for my time in the South (That Boy Aint Right, its 6am!). I didn't go to many Sunday School Services, but maybe I would have if he was the teacher.
I think Faith, Joel Haver and a bunch of people looking back at stuff like old Ralph Bakshi animated films have really brought rotoscoping back as a particular form of animation with its own feel. It’s really cool to see.
I honestly can't wait for Wendigoon's finished video of this series in his main channel. IH voicing Gary?!! That'll be a fun watch. The game is such an amazing experience that I always recommend my friends to play this especially during Halloween. Also, congrats to Airdorf for getting a lot of recognition from making this masterpiece. I didn't even know that each game is based off the lyrics of a song. Looking forward to Faith Chapter 4!
Incredibly insightful interview. I'm not a practicing Christian, but I was more of one when I was younger, and their conversations on the religious themes around the game were really interesting and almost nostalgic-- I was kind of surprised that I was able to follow along with Airdorf citing passages and all that. FAITH is a wonderful, wonderful game.
The fact that Faith manages to not be preachy and still be very, very religious, that blows my mind. So many works are either preachy, or don't take the religious ideals to heart, or are denouncing organized religion (which is great, but not that unique and hence not anything that would stand out to me), or simply don't care about their message - or even some that care but have ideals that are just shitty layered on top of the religious stuff (i.e. Narnia. Makes you understand what believing in God is like to a certain extent, but certain elements are very questionable). It blows my mind that Faith is just. So Christian. In like the best possible way, and while dodging all the pitfalls works with similar elements usually fall into. It's one of the most impressive things I have ever seen tbh, and the reason why I will never forget it, despite having never played it myself.
What is nania?is it a game? Also while i adore any religion themed games or even movies (whether pro or anti) you CANNOT discuss these topics alogside politics without being a little preachy...to me there is nothing wrong with that.
@@shimaaalayie9965 @shimaaalayie9965 Narnia, the book series by C.S. Lewis 😆 I also did not mean discussion about politics and religion together being preachy. If religion is an important part of a person's ideals, I see nothing wrong with including it when they talk about politics (although it may not be a good argument to convince non-religious people or people of other religions)
@@pauline_f328so this proves i am not good at english, what i meant was: religion cannot be spoken upon in media without it being a little preachy. Thanks for this interview! Though I ain't religious, I love that the both of you discussed the game and its relevancy to your experiences with being practicing Christians. Really sheds a light on the nuances of the game and gives a perspective I couldn't have been able to understand myself.
I'm Jewish and I absolutely adore this game. I love how respectful it is towards religion, but still manages to be one of the most terrifying things I've ever played. It's also neat seeing this demon that's present in both Judaism and Christianity.
If there are any two people that I've been longing to hear talk to each other, it's Wendigoon and Airdorf. FAITH was one of my most favorite horror game series and I'm glad I could finally hear him talk about it with one of my most favorite youtubers! :)
Talking about Garcia using a weapon, in our weird west tabletop session we had three big things that could stop the unholy. Consecrated Silver bullets, Consecrated Salt, and one called “Kerosene Sulfate.” Our alchemist coated little glass vials with silver and filled them with the chemical. Silver let the bullet in, then the sulfate set them on fire on the inside.
I bought this purely because it is such a breath of fresh air to have a game out there that actually gives Christianity proper shine. Not some corrupt or villainous religion like so many enjoy portraying them as, but one of humility and unwavering devotion even in the face of great evil. Excellent work.
Super Miriam was easily my favorite part of the trilogy- I was so exasperated after fighting the first two forms that when I got hit during the finale I sat back in my chair in frustration only to jolt forward again upon realizing I wasn't dead. John's prayer during that final boss gave me goosebumps, it gave me that second wind I needed to push on
John quoting, “faith without works is death also,” was such a well written moment. You can interpret it as John grimly acknowledging his failure to stop Gary. A dark acceptance that he tried so hard but ultimately was not strong enough. Didn’t truly believe in himself. Or, you can see it as John mocking Gary knowing that even if he dies he finally has his faith in himself again and he only got that far because he had finally redeemed himself.
Wouldn’t it be funny if for chapter 4 you were a nun that runs around with a ruler and a crucifix, and you just beat the snot out of demons with a ruler
i'm 10 minutes into the interview and hearing airdorf talk has unlocked memories of me as a kid falling asleep listening to interviews/talkshows on my dingy $1 battery fm radio from a garage sale back in like 2010 lmao, oddly nostalgic, thank you
FAITH will always have a special place in my heart because it was my barrier to entry with Horror games in general. I'll always appreciate Airdorf for giving me the courage (by scaring the crap outta me) to try more games. If anyone is aiming to try the Good Christian Boy challenge - I wish you luck!
Its interesting that Airdorf mentions that he gets praise from both ends of the belief spectrum, because as an agnostic who refuses to be defined or restricted by a single belief system, what I find most compelling about the game (and Airdorf himself) is that it/he presents the themes of belief stripped of any dogma, ritual or pretense. John is an excommunicated priest. Garcia (arguably) kidnapped a boy and carries a shotgun. But they are our heroes. The game is not shoving morality down our throats, it is simply presenting a case for good vs evil, both within ourselves and without. Quite frankly, the characters could be of any religion or denomination and the impact of its message would remain thr same. Faith is not a religious game. It is a call to simply devote yourself to being a source of good in the world, and doing what is right when it is asked of you.
Not a great take. The creator is catholic. Exorcisms are catholic capabilities. The game is a catholic game. Open to everyone, yes. But it strengthens catholic faith.
Faith is definitely my favorite horror game of all time and it's so nice to see that Airdorf is such an incredibly creative and amazing person! The interview was great, love both of you guys
As a Christian, the CHILLS I got when ya'll said the 2nd death means SPIRITUAL DEATH. Also I think the symbolism of a PERSON becoming a portal to hell is so cool
I like the idea of the cross country game with John and Garcia bc that would kinda be like Oregon Trail like he described it as to his family. Very good interview, he seems like a great dude.
I’m gonna have to touch base with Airdorf someday he seems super chill 👌 the amount of super intricate and interesting details he includes in these games make you really appreciate the craftsmanship and creativity he brings.
I LOVED my youth pastors, and they’re a huge part of my being saved today, but it’s got to be HARD to surpass THE best Sunday school teacher, Wendigoon!
Airdorf telling us that future faith stuff will be similar to resident evil or silent hill, as a survival horror fan, has made me extremely excited. Maybe Garcia’s “methods” of fighting demons will have a bigger role?
here in Argentina to this day, I still find shrines to san la muerte in some streets where people do not usually pass like close to some train tracks or lonely sections in parks, I even know a family that they wont let their kids invite friends inside because all of the decorations to san la muerte they have there
I think Faith is a fantastic piece of art, be it as a critical piece, or otherwise, however Airdorf being so upfront and so intelligent with his wording and his intentions with the game is so damn refreshing, the game never comes off as preachy or "love god or else" messages that a lot of judeochristian media has, and the fact that Father Garcia, a Spanish speaking man wearing a cross made of wood that has forsaken the clerical order in order to fight the actual threats that harm actual people is so very like the typical Mexican small town old father, tired, grumpy, but understading of man and his plight. Fantastic stuff Wendigoon, thank you for the interview.
I really appreciate that Airdorf used religion as more than just an easy aesthetic for his scares. So many indie horrors that use religious themes just have demons and Satan or maybe some Divine Comedy or Revelations references and nothing deeper.
As a Catholic, i can say that there isn't much meat on the bone with regard to reflecting Catholicism within the game. However, I think the focus of Faith was brilliantly used to bring everyone onto the same level of the journey. We can all relate to having faith in something, and losing that faith. Especially faith in ourselves.
The game is very catholic because apparently we're the only denomination that doesn't immediately go atheist as soon as a priest isn't a perfect automaton. And because, you know, the exorcism.
4:46 That's actually a pretty funny and interesting way to establish a name lol. The first thing my oldest son ever said, when he was about 8 months old, was a parroted line we would tell him when we sat him down on the barstool at our breakfast nook: "Don't fall, you'll get hurt." His actual words were, "don't fall; get hoyt." My wife and I just stopped in our tracks and looked at each other, then started cracking up. It completely caught us off guard because you wouldn't expect your baby's first dialogue to basically be a whole ass sentence lol. When I told my parents about it they said, "it's better than YOUR first word; your grandfather would always joke around and mess with you so you repeated the word 'SHOWGIRLS' with enthusiasm." My family went to Vegas every other year for vacation and it was apparently significant enough to where THAT was my first bit of character dialogue 😆.
My brother was like completely silent for his first like 3 years and his very first word was the sentence "mama, I want that cookie" in reference to how he was addressing his mother in hopes if acquiring an aforementioned cookie. Pretty fun story, all things considered
This timing for me was wild. I just started listening to the Chilluminati podcast a couple weeks ago while I work and just listened to the Airdorf episode last Thursday, picked up Faith after that, and played it over stream with my friends over the weekend when this interview comes out so I can listen to it at work on Monday.
55:53 had me laughing so hard. Just the way that he says it while laughing was funny to me. Love your content wendigoon, you're the best! And remember Gary loves you!
I’m personally agnostic. I grew up Catholic. Sunday school and confirmation and the whole 9 yards. Minus the being touched. Now I’m very agnostic. Personally I 99% think there is a higher power but I 1% believe there are any humans who can come close to understanding what that higher being might want from us. This game made me really think about this position on religion. It didn’t change my mind but it made me examine my ideas. That’s a lot more than any sermon I got from any priest and it didn’t come off as preachy at all. Very well done Airdorf.
I like the idea of a game where you play as different religions and denominations fighting demons. Imagine a sidescrolling beat-em-up where you can play as a Baptist pastor building up a firey sermon combo, or a Shinto priest who has to stick a certain number of cleansing talismans on the enemies depending on their power, and each character's moveset is just based around how their religion is practiced and specifically how they deal with demons or whatever their equivalent is.
Yeah it would be like left 4 dead with a team of many religious people who are a pastor, Jewish rabbi, muslim, shinto priest, buddhist monk and other religious clergys with rpg sets and abilities into combating the demons and other entities in the supernatural world with the highest powers of prayers and weapons at their disposals.

I just personally enjoy the fact that FAITH takes Christianity seriously. Father Garcia is cool.

The true lesson of this game is that doomguy was right: the best weapon against demons is a double barrelled shotgun

I believe thats supposed to be lisa

@@shimaaalayie9965 Ohh sorry for the miscomprehension. I see what you mean now
Thanks for this interview! Though I ain't religious, I love that the both of you discussed the game and its relevancy to your experiences with being practicing Christians. Really sheds a light on the nuances of the game and gives a perspective I couldn't have been able to understand myself.
Wendi uploading +3 hour video interviewing great indie dev puts a smile on my face
Did he say something bad about me
I'm Jewish and I absolutely adore this game. I love how respectful it is towards religion, but still manages to be one of the most terrifying things I've ever played. It's also neat seeing this demon that's present in both Judaism and Christianity.
Fellow based Jewish wendigoon viewer
Of course I wait all day and this finally gets posted right as I’m about to leave for church.
John's prayer during that final boss gave me goosebumps, it gave me that second wind I needed to push on
there’s something so beautiful about two people having a genuine mutual respect and understanding of one another.
Watched the whole stream of you playing this, super hype for the deep dive!!!!
I can’t wait for faith to hopefully get a boost like blood meridian, it absolutely deserves it!
Wouldn’t it be funny if for chapter 4 you were a nun that runs around with a ruler and a crucifix, and you just beat the snot out of demons with a ruler
Faith turned me into a believer
Congratulations brother🗣‼️
Every time I saw Michael my brain would recite the “skitters toward you on all fours” post
Kickass. I loved the Faith trilogy, looking forward to digging into this interview.
i'm 10 minutes into the interview and hearing airdorf talk has unlocked memories of me as a kid falling asleep listening to interviews/talkshows on my dingy $1 battery fm radio from a garage sale back in like 2010 lmao, oddly nostalgic, thank you
FAITH will always have a special place in my heart because it was my barrier to entry with Horror games in general. I'll always appreciate Airdorf for giving me the courage (by scaring the crap outta me) to try more games.
If anyone is aiming to try the Good Christian Boy challenge - I wish you luck!
Love how his wife is like "games are dumb" and is now in a video game
A call to devote yourself to being a source of good in the world, and doing what is right when it is asked of you, is religion.
Faith is definitely my favorite horror game of all time and it's so nice to see that Airdorf is such an incredibly creative and amazing person! The interview was great, love both of you guys
1:49:14 you can pinpoint the moment when wendigoon completed his transformation into Owen Wilson
As a Christian, the CHILLS I got when ya'll said the 2nd death means SPIRITUAL DEATH. Also I think the symbolism of a PERSON becoming a portal to hell is so cool
I was a little bit skeptical about christianity but when I finished faith i knew i want to become christian, thanks airdorf, you changed my life
I like the idea of the cross country game with John and Garcia bc that would kinda be like Oregon Trail like he described it as to his family. Very good interview, he seems like a great dude.
It’s now apparent that airside played with his daughter today and that makes my day better even though it was already good
I’m gonna have to touch base with Airdorf someday he seems super chill 👌 the amount of super intricate and interesting details he includes in these games make you really appreciate the craftsmanship and creativity he brings.
One of the scariest games I've ever played, well done Airdorf you're amazing as always!!!
My favorite youth pastor posted again!!

Maybe Garcia’s “methods” of fighting demons will have a bigger role?
my favorite part of the interview is when he said "its dorfing time" and airdorfed all over the audience
here in Argentina to this day, I still find shrines to san la muerte in some streets where people do not usually pass like close to some train tracks or lonely sections in parks, I even know a family that they wont let their kids invite friends inside because all of the decorations to san la muerte they have there
I think Faith is a fantastic piece of art, be it as a critical piece, or otherwise, however Airdorf being so upfront and so intelligent with his wording and his intentions with the game is so damn refreshing, the game never comes off as preachy or "love god or else" messages that a lot of judeochristian media has, and the fact that Father Garcia, a Spanish speaking man wearing a cross made of wood that has forsaken the clerical order in order to fight the actual threats that harm actual people is so very like the typical Mexican small town old father, tired, grumpy, but understading of man and his plight.
Fantastic stuff Wendigoon, thank you for the interview.
Was literally in the middle of watching his faith play through when I got the notification
I don’t think airdorf will ever read this but I just wanna say thank you for sharing with us this piece of art.
Even as an atheist this game is so badass. Love the messaging of it as well.
i love these nerdy Sunday school teachers talk about this absolutely terrifying game one of them made
Sometimes as a Christian I feel alone in the game media but hearing you guys made my day.
I love how you and Airdorf just geeked out over various topics throughout this interview, it was so fun to listen to!
well the drunk guy sure needed.....the spirits.....exorcised from his body.

That's actually a pretty funny and interesting way to establish a name lol. The first thing my oldest son ever said, when he was about 8 months old, was a parroted line we would tell him when we sat him down on the barstool at our breakfast nook:
"Don't fall, you'll get hurt."
His actual words were, "don't fall; get hoyt." My wife and I just stopped in our tracks and looked at each other, then started cracking up.
This is so wholesome
My brother was like completely silent for his first like 3 years and his very first word was the sentence "mama, I want that cookie" in reference to how he was addressing his mother in hopes if acquiring an aforementioned cookie.
Pretty fun story, all things considered
So not only a sentence, a whole ass accent too
Now I need to go rewatch the entire play through again.
Airdorf explaining how Transformers is a Christian allegory with Decepticons being Demons and Autobots being angels.
Yeah it would be like left 4 dead with a team of many religious people who are a pastor, Jewish rabbi, muslim, shinto priest, buddhist monk and other religious clergys with rpg sets and abilities into combating the demons and other entities in the supernatural world with the highest powers of prayers and weapons at their disposals.
this is so cool
