Waiting for the games to be on a bundle is really helping me to save money. Because (A) I'm not behaving like a game groupie and buying those sometimes ridiculous early access prices (B) give me time to enjoying the games in my backlog. Is also good to give ourselves some self-caring from time to time and buy that awesome new game... but most of the times, just waiting them to be discounted/bundled is the best choice.
The way I do it is I don't buy any games any more that I'm not going to be playing right away. Cause you know they'll just disappear into your backlog, where you could have picked it up later for an even lower price. The only exception to this is Humble Choice, if there's more than a few that I want I pick it up, because they usually will never be discounted this deep again.
For sure with HB Choice. I have been a loyal member of the Choice for years now. I agree on that matter. You can't get any lower than that. I do wish I caught up a few titles in 2019, like CoD and Crash Bandicoot, and I can see they never dropped any lower than that.
PC Game Pass, Prime Gaming & EGS weekly GAs are how I have been gaming for quite a while now .. plus the occasional surprise here and there (SG win, or a game from a friend ..)
Prime Gaming is another one I could have mentioned. I love that they offer support to GoG and Epic, despite me being a Steam user for the most part. I always collect my games from there. Great point of observation!
Humble Choice and bundles are for sure two of the better ways, as well as mixing that with trading. Takes a bit more effort but I traded bundled games for popular indies a few times and other titles as well! :)
Thank you! I wanted to make something easy to digest and learn. I'm sure there's some other small parts I could have mentioned that I might have missed, but these were the biggest ones that I've honestly used and currently using. Such a wallet saver.
I kind of wish subscription services such as Game Pass were more widespread before I started assembling my own game library. At this point I feel I'm too far deep into having my own licenses, but I can't help but feel Game Pass is better value for money than what I have
I think in your case and mine, going to Game Pass is difficult, but for someone new, this is by far the BEST GAMING OPTION even to this date, despite it's price increase. It's a great service more people should promote.
Humble choice is great, I've got a few games I was interested in from there. I'm not into subscriptions. Instead I wait for discounts or I look for older games that are long past their release date. It is worth checking for older games as sometimes great ones go unnoticed. For example Metal Gear Rising: Revengeance became popular a few years after its release, mostly thanks to memes. Unfortunately, some of the older titles, especially Call of Duty games hold high prices despite being over 10 years old.
Oh for sure it's not a problem going back and playing old titles. In fact, you save so much more money if you don't get the newest and greatest game out there. Prices for AAA today are debatable if they are really worth that much with the amount of issues it comes day one.
@@Metalhead8489 That's true. I also through about Amazon's Prime feature but I feel it doesn't always give the greatest and best titles. Epic does sometimes. But good to point out for sure.
a lot of those options arent viable for me as I live in a region where they simply arent available and US prices are quite high for me(besides the fact that I'm a student) lol but if I ever move to someplace else I would say Bundles are an amazing way to get games somewhat cheap specially ones like Humble that gives some of the money to charities , it's just such a win-win :p
@@abdolladorrazahi Sorry to hear that the stuff I shared are a lot harder to get in your country. Aren't Bundle websites available in your country? That might be the best thing that has ever happened to me since my discovery of the websites.
@tale_play no sadly they arent , like cant pay for them and even if I could , I wouldn't as um the prices are too high around where I live funnily enough even steam isn't available like officially (the currency and stuff) soooooo yah , not much lucky in the geographical lottery lol😑
@@tale_play like directly buying them from steam directly(which I have to pay with buying tf2 keys from local websites and selling them on steam market).altho it's not as feasible as before since steam changed its regions and now the one my steam is , for some games its not that cheaper compared to US prices and oddly even sometimes the same price or more :/ so yah , its tough lol p.s. sry about the late(very late and slightly incoherent and long) reply
GeForce now will be discontinued by 2025, though there are many other cloud gaming services but they also need us to have our game in our Library. Any ways entertaining video ☺️
I've started from that point. There's nothing wrong with that approach either. But it always feels rewarding to know you own a game and can use all it's benefits, like achievements, community and workshop mods.
Best way to save money is to actually play the games you already have, and not to stick and fanboy to a platform only; as you stated, there are many alterantives around.
Fanboyism is what often times kills your wallet especially if you choose a platform that has expensive games. Nintendo I'm looking at you! Although I'm a fan of Steam and prefer all my games there, I strongly support people to play games on any platform possible if they don't care about this issue. My wife for instance doesn't care if one game is on one platform or another. If she wants to play it, she will play it where it's readily available.

Here from Discord. I didn’t think I’d watch this all the way through, but I did! Great content. Keep up the good work!

Totally agree! Sometimes you'll just forced into giving 2+ games from a bundle to get maybe TF2 keys or a game you want. That's fine with me.
What can I say. You basically nicely summarized how to not spend a lot and have fun. As always it was a pleasure to watch your thoughts Vash :)

Great topic for those who are new into gaming!
For sure! That was my intention. The gaming industry is sure to grow over the course of years.
Nice video! I'm a patient gamer, always waiting for sales to buy a game, with a few exceptions.
@@jullebarge What's usually your % for a game? Where do you draw the line and don't consider buying it?
@@tale_play it's not a % but more z price limit. I don't like to spend more than 30€
@@jullebarge I see. I am probably more stingy. I prefer €20-25 to be my highest price point for AAA games and for indies it can go even under.
