I might be in the minority here, but i really love how Mirio was able to buy the time that they needed even though he was essentially powerless. He is like Izuku from the first chapters. He has no power to stop or even slightly damage the villain but he is still able to buy enough time for Deku (All Might with Deku in the first chapter) to get there and save the day. He was able to be a hero and make a difference while being powerless. This is a theme with Mirio (like how he defeated Overhaul without his quirk, once again buying time for Deku to arrive) and likely one of the reasons why he was a top contender to inherit OFA.

@@Rex-wi7bz if he did, Mirio possibly would've died (since OFA reduces the lifespan of those born with quirks particularly, and it's implied that has gotten much worse over the times it's been passed down)

I really like when two opposing characters have a State down and one of them is in a higher position than the other, in my opinion it makes the stare down a lot more epic

I hate how people are complaining that he didnt have a quirk awakening, he is already at the top notch of his quirk. His ass showing came in extreme clutch there, mirio is forever the greatest.

Bro, Midoriya arriving at the end was very cool, I thought he was going to appear on top of one of the towers crouching in Spider-Man style but he already arrived putting a flying kick/blitz attack in Shigaraki, the double page and the pages of them facing each other before Midoriya shoots at Shigaraki were also very cool, finally the clash we were waiting for will start!

Humor is underutilized in fights in general, he’s done the butt move before, so I don’t mind it at all… in fact I like the creativity. He’s the ultimate distraction with his quirk anyway… this is Miro’s final form. 😂

@@radioraheem9820 Mirko could only slightly damage shigaraki only after Bakugo got his bs power up that affected shigaraki's mental state. Also apparently bakugo did significant damage somehow. His powerup makes no sense. just a reason for bakugo to even stand a chance against 100% deku with 7 quirks.
@@AnkleGremlin I'm not happy about it but even if Miruko was slightly hurting Shigaraki, Deku's strength is far above hers. I honestly think she just damaged him for the plot to save Bakugo but I'm curious to see how Horikoshi will address this
Mirio is still my favorite hero because he isn't against belittling himself to accomplish the goal that literally was a do or die situation for the remainder of the active combatants trying to hold AFShigi. He is a true hero

yo zhoniin. contrary to popular opinion, i actually like the idea of mirio showing his ass to buy time😭😭. it fits perfectly into the storyline of heroism with a smile on your face, the ethos from nighteye. i get why ppl have an issue with it but i still found it really perfect for what was necessary.

Imagine being Izuku, arriving on the battlefield, and then you just see Bakugou dead, Mirko losing yet another limb, and Mirio presenting his tush to Shigaraki who is covered in hands, I don't know about Izuku but I would definitely be like.

How do you read 366 chapters of a story and still fail to understand what it’s about to this degree? Mirio looking death in the face and showing his ass instead of cowering or getting despondent is literally the only thing his character has been about, and underlies the main theme of the story: that those who smile in the face of villainy are the strongest. “tHiS iS wHaT hIs ChArAcTeR hAs BeEn ReDuCeD tO” is why we can’t have nice things.

Even though Midoriya finally made it, I still don't think he's strong enough to fight Shigaraki or AFO. What I think will happen is that Shigaraki does defeat Midoriya and everyone else then he starts to absorb OFA from him. After this, S&S's quirk New Order reverses the process and instead Izuku starts taking quirks from him including New Order. During this time Midoriya sees Tenko Shimura being turned into AFO and knows that Death is the only way to free him. New Order gives Izuku the body he needs to use OFA at 100% and the ability to house a lot of quirks in his body finally giving him the edge he needs to win this fight.

Mirio was essentially brought back from being quirkless, after a cut-short character arc, just to show his butt to Shigaraki. If that's truly the last relevant thing he does in the series, that's beyond saddening.
People mad about it but he did what a hero does. The same thing izuku did in chapter 1. He was being a hero. He bought time for deku to get there.

I agree that I don't like how Mirio's character arc went, but his distraction against Shigaraki is definitely in character. People seem to forget that he's done the peach gag before on class 1-A, when Eri first arrives at UA. Not saying that it's good writing, but I think it made enough sense lol. He DID buy them those 2 seconds.
Mirio 's character arc has come full circle. He is able to be a great hero just like Nighteye said. Just because he can't defeat the big bad doesn't matter. He was able to distract and protect everyone as much as he could the whole fight. And I don't get why a little comedy in a series that has always had it would be bad writting. Mirio is still Mirio.

@@mrsrich3259 Comedy in a WAR arc with people DYING and literally no comedy in it since it started with the previous 2 arcs being very DARK and SERIOUS... of course people would find it jarring. Now, I personally don't mind Mirio shook his ass, but better writing would've had Mirio actually doing something to mess up Shigaraki because that accumulated damage will definitely help out Deku considering the fact Shigaraki got hit by a NUKE before and lived.
Or better yet, since Mirio's whole thing is helping people through trauma and making them smile, maybe have him planting the seed to helping Shigaraki through his since that's ultimately what Deku wants to do and even now Shigaraki is crying for help that he never got.

What importantance can be done in that time? The key was to distract so they can open the barrier that's it. Anything else can be done after.

AFO’s flashback with Nana Shimura has shown he’s indestructible. The series has established All for One and One For All are quirks that not anyone can have. Shigaraki has undergone his surgery to boost his power. Where’s the power creep here?
I will say that monoma is definitely the goat. Like keeping his eye lock on shigaraki through all those smoke is no joke.

Also, the Lemillion slander must stop. Worth recalling that we're not dealing with just Shigaraki, but Tenko. Think about it, in a situation where Tenko had a monologue before his family appearing, where hands are covering Extrenal! Shigaraki in the same way hands cover Tenko, isn't it possible that the one who laughed was Tenko? An actual child? & children like butt jokes. Even if one dont believe this, Horikoshi does.
I for one can't wait to see the reality that Mirio's butt just desescalated Tenko. I really hope that happens. It'd be funny. As funny as a kid laughing ata ripe peach bursting from the ground.

This chapter really shows how good a good break does to a mangaka, we saw how great the drawings were, how good everything was, like, let's allow the mangakas have their own time to rest, they're human beings after all
The chapter started with a brief explanation of why Shigaraki’s body was mutating. The stress brought on by his fight with the Heroes caused him to create copies of his family and become stronger. Shigaraki destroyed every opponent in seconds. The Heroes received a request to distract Shigaraki for two seconds, which Mirio accomplished by showing his behind. Deku arrived and attacked Shigaraki.

Mirio pulled a Starlord to buy time and did something so outrageous the villain stopped in his tracks.
As much as I want to see the Deku vs Shigiraki fight, we need to cut away to Ochaco vs Toga!! At least start the fight! And I want Aoyama to get a moment to redeem himself! Hopefully Horikoshi fleshes out the other students with some fights for a few chapters too!! We need to see our Boi spinner duke it out with someone!! And the All for one and Dabi stuff!! This. I love how It did work, not because Kaguya was interested, but because doing something so stupid in the middle of the ultimate fight would temporarily paralize anyone. Therefore, showing your butt to the strongest being on earth when you are desperate Is actually a good move.

One thing to also note is most of the OFA users we've seen fought against AFO had some form of help against him. The first presumably had the 2nd, the 2nd had the 3rd. Fast forward to Nana who had Gran Torino. All Might technically had Nighteye, but against AFO it was him alone. It's a big reason why I think the whole idea of Deku fighting AFO alone is misguided & might not actually happen.

It’s probably going to go down as the biggest moment in the manga because he’s the most popular in the manga. and best believe Bakugo’s new power up will actually put him in the same playing field as Deku.

About the Naruto comparison, Mirios moment is significantly worse because:
1) Naruto was able to capitalize on the "gag" moment, following up by contributing to the proper fight immediately, so Narutos gag was paid off by a Naruto moment w serious weight
2) The sexy jutsu was introduced in ch 1 of Naruto, so not only was it a well established call back to a previously established troupe, but it also served a narrative function of demonstrating that Narutos true strength is his unpredictable combat style, which is noted many times through the series, by using the technique that first earned him the title.
3) I remember when that chapter came out, people goofed on Naruto for that too, just not to the same extent due to Points 1 and 2
Mirio was set up as a goofy character from the start with the pop up technique and his first battle was him fighting 1A nude, I'm pretty sure he also did the butt thing before in trying to cheer up Eri so still a character call back

The final step of reviving Bakugo is up to Deku. Much like Heroes Rising, I believe there is a good possibility they share 1FA. The parallels to Nines and Shigaraki is interesting as well. One a failed experiment, the other the perfected final product.
Lol what do you mean "power creep"? Basically no one could come near All Might and AFO's power and that was DECADES AGO in-universe. If anything, the other heroes being able to even damage Shigaraki (who is now stronger than AFO) shows reverse power creep.
