(1) Basch, M. F. - Understanding psychotherapy (2) Lindner, Robert - The Fifty-Minute Hour (3) van der Kolk, Bessel - The Body Keeps the Score (4) Laing, R. D. - The Divided Self Like 'Love's Executioner', (1) and (2) both have a one-chapter-per-patient structure. I could add several other books by Irvin Yalom to the list as well. 'The Schopenhauer Cure' and 'When Nietzsche Wept' are probably my favourites of his, along with 'Love's Executioner'.
I remember watching this video a while back when I was trying to find books about psychology, and ended up reading The Gift of Therapy. Since then I've read like 5 of Yalom's books haha. Thank you
Thanks so much! As a person aspiring to have a more counselling-oriented approach to being a helper, these should help a lot! If you had to pick just two though, which would you recommend?
Thanks so much. I am about to finish my newest book "Therapy vs. Spirituality: Finding What Truly Heals". Would you be interested in creating a review? Much love, Stephan
