@@MarkBryanRC i can imagine they would be! Although I’m not sure about the bodyshell I reckon it’s probably held together with gaffa tape and good thoughts because I drove that thing to oblivion! 🤣🤣 it might be in my mothers loft I reckon, I’ll have a nosy next time I go down to visit.
Nice walk through of the build! I have not built one of these yet so it was fun to watch it come together! It seems like a nice, beefy setup. It should take plenty of abuse!
Hi Addam and thanks for the cool comment and sorry for the late reply, I'm struggling to keep up again! Anyways, glad you enjoyed the build and too right, I do like the way this is coming together. I have a TA02 from way back in 1986, still running good, so they really are strong! All the best my friend! 😎👌👍
Thanks for sharing your build video Mark, I learnt a quite a few new tricks from you that will help us in future. The colour of the differentials is a nice change from the usual black, she's going to look great when finished mate👍🦘🇦🇺
...and many thanks to you for watching and taking the time to comment, cobber! Good to know you found some useful bits in the video. I agree about the colour, it sure makes a nice change. All the best, mate! 🙏😎👍
Hi Damian, well i hope you do get one some day as I'm sure you'd enjoy the RC rally experience. And yes, a mate to race against is even better. All the best, mate! 😎👌👍
Thanks for the company as I work on an old buggy I plan on getting out soon. Man this is looking like a sturdy build for sure. Those Parts are looking meaty:)
@@MarkBryanRC in your opinion which chassis is the more useable for rally standard tt02 or the type s..want to try a tt02 rally so I can compare TA02/tt02/xv01 together but never done a tt02 so don't know which version is best
@@janglesrcadventures3874 Hi there! I definitely prefer the Type-S because it has a similar suspension setup as the XV01. Metal pivot pins and longer wishbones and adjustable top arms. Fully adjustable steering, too and metal dogbones. Too much to list, it's just so much more than the basic TT02 kit! Check out this rally test of it: ua-cam.com/video/NW2vRh0LlT0/v-deo.html
Wow Mark, you really are the connoisseur of build videos! 🙏 Very professional mate, and very relaxing after a long hard day at work! Love seeing kits that I haven't had any experience with get put together in detail like this. This looks like a really well designed rally chassis, great to follow along for the ride. You seem to have a lot more luck with those pesky E clips than I do! This cars going to look stunning once completed. Fair play bud. 😊 👍 👍 👍 👍
Thanks 😎 James that really is very kind of you! Great to hear that it's not stressful to listen to, I hate the sound of my own voice! I know this chassis well and it sure is a cracking design 👌. Worried about the bodywork but hopefully I can do it justice! Cheers mate! 😎 👍
Hi John, I hope this message finds you well my friend! Glad you enjoyed these few steps, I had fun building it too! All the best to you and yours al always! 🙏🤗👍
Hi Steve, great to read you mate! Thanks very much for the comment and I'm pleased you liked the tips. Hope all is well with you and yours, mate - cheers!
Took the Blitzer beetle out on the gravel car park yesterday with the super stock tz motor on 7.2 and OMG the car park was full of dust and the acceleration was crazy fast and after a full battery i bought her in and the motor was cool i could keep my finger on it unlike the super stock rz in my holiday buggy that gets very toasty. So yeah super stock tz in a rally car would be nuts Mark!
Hi again Shelly! Oh yes, the Blitzer is one cool Tamiya for sure. Love mine. Cheers for the info on the TZ motor, I need to save my pennies and invest in one, as you say, it sounds like it'd be awesome in this Lancia! Thanks, and all the best from Mark! 👌👍
You're too kind, Craig! It's a lovely kit to put together, that's for sure 👌! Yeah the shocks do feel nice and smooth with the extra travel, hopefully they'll be good on the dirt! Cheers, buddy! 😎🙏👍
Nice one, Mark! Still a few bits in this that reminds me of DF-01, so quite familiar! Looking forward to see it all fitted on the chassis, and that beautiful Lancia body!
Thanks my friend Mads! Yes, this chassis does share a lot of components with the DF-01, in fact I used some TA-02 parts to repair my Lancer! The body is worrying me a little, but I will enjoy doing it all the same! Cheers, mate! 😎👌👍
Hey very nice Mark. You know I don't hold with all that using a paintbrush for the grease. Just poke it on with your fingers and stop fannying about 😂 Anyway top tips with the shocks and all that. I was surprised how well Dom's one did over the sand so this should be great for rallying. I look forward to the rest of the build. Such a nice looking car. Best wishes mate 😁👍
Hiya matey! Haha, oh yes, sometimes it's good to get sticky fingers! 🤣 The shocks are working well, passed the drop test OK!!! Dom's 037 does run well on his sandy terrain, hope mine is even half as good (but I still have the stock tyres on so we'll see. All the best to you too, Pete. Cheers! 🤗👌👍
Hi! Thanks for the comment, and I was exactly the same about the paint and decals - panic stations!!! I'll just have to take the bull by the horns! Hopefully more of this car coming soon. All the best!
Mark, I said it before and I'll say it again, Love the TA-02 chassis... I never had a swb (I always thought it was just swapping the arms around) kit but how much different can they be? Brother your modeling skill are still sharp for an old man, LMAO!!!! Love the use of the SS screws too, great choice if you hit a muddy course. One suggestion, get an alloy motor mount, your gears will thank you (a heads up, the Tamiya alloy mount isn't cheap), the plastic mounts always seem to snap a tab off. ATB my friend, Chat soon I hope..
Same here, dude, love this one! First SWB for me as well. It's identical apart from the shorter tub. The SS hex screws are just better to work with as well as being rust proof! I know about the motor mount, mate, broke 2 in the past, but can't get my hands on an alloy one. Will keep an eye out! ATB my brother, catch ya soon!
@@MarkBryanRC Right on brother... Those motor mounts ain't cheap either, my china made one was around 35 bucks back when I bought it. Those fiber motor plates are a must also for the chassis (found that out with my S-10 build). Speaking of chassis, Kevin gave me his chassis from his Lancia 037 kit, I'm using it on the S-10 truck. I think the WB is determined by the rear lower arms, I think. ATB my friend.. Now I have something to look up...
Blimey I can’t remember the last time I built a ta02! Must be decades ago. Great video!
