You should NOT use a regular steel hammer with your punches. - You certainly shouldn't be telling people that. Steel on steel could potentially shatter your hardened punches, which is both costly and dangerous. That's why the impressart hammer features a brass face. As brass is softer than then punches and so won't damage them. The brass face, will eventually get messed up and need replacing, but this saves your punches. If people are watching you, it's vital that you always advocate safe practices.

      Yes and no
It’s a tedious thing that can sometimes make you feel like you’re doing nothing. Kind of like using a stencil, or just a regular stamp.
Really depends on you; it’s not fun but it’s not not fun. If you plan on selling it I would recommend it, it’s popular with the right promotion you’d do well. But for personal use, really depends on you.
I’m aware this comment is a year old so you’ve probably made your choice but hope this still helps anyways

Like the other commenter said, I know this is a year old but... I'd recommend doing beading before stamping because beading is more popular. Stamping can be tedious, as the other person pointed out and starting out is expensive. I also don't find stamping as fulfilling as beading and wire work.

I am concerned with the bracelet material, does it turn color? Do I need to buy real silver to last? Thank you

Hello person that knows about metal.
Nope! You don’t. You could get surgical stainless steal, sterling silver, titanium, nickel etc. in fact regular silver is one of the more likely to tarnish. Surgical stainless steal and sterling silver is what I would recommend. If you’re allergic to nothing (metal wise) and don’t wear any jewelry in the shower you can get literally metal.
For sensitive skin I would recommend: sterling silver (CHECK WHAT THE OTHER PERCENT IS) regular silver, gold, surgical stainless steal, titanium

Great video. What number set (font name) did you use to make the latitude/longitude bracelet? I liked your font.

Only stamp it once with medium force, you can’t guarantee something won’t slide when you hit it more than once

what material do you recommend for jewelry, aluminum seems popular on amazon?

    • @alicxgarden1126

      For sensitive skin (or selling)
Here’s a list of the best ones:
Surgical stainless steel (no tarnish, sometimes contains nickel)
Sterling silver (no tarnish, sometimes contains nickel, most people allergic to certain metals can only use sterling silver)
Titanium (my ears were pierced with titanium, only 0.6% of people allergic to it. Though in the US alone that’s 1.8 million people, there’s a lot of people.)
      Gold (some allergic to it)
Also most stuff on Amazon is plated or filled, never solid. I personally get stuff from jewelrysupply .com (I don’t work there or anything I just buy stuff there)

do you recommend 3mm or 4mm metal stamps for jewelry making?

That depends on the size of the finished product/blanks.

Since I don't know where you live, I suggest googling that.

I had an epic failure this weekend! I Stamped with some stamps given tome. I put the sharpie to fill in the Black into the stamped image and the sharpie dried instantly and I could not get it off at all! Help!?

Use some alcohol to clean it up. And in the future use acrylic paint to get in the stamped areas but wipe it off quickly!

After you get the sharpie off with alcohol, use this:

You might want to use tape to better align the numbers (or letters) so that your design is more even.
