My Horrible Experience at this Las Vegas Hotel - OYO Hotel and Casino

- This is by fat the WORST Hotel in Las Vegas! I tried so hard to look at the bright side but gave in. The OYO hotel has the worst facilities for any major hotel at or near the Vegas Strip! Not only did they lie with their table minimums but their elevators did not work and the AC unit in my room was basically a fan. Room wasn't that dirty so props to that I guess. I didn't talk too much mess about them but security guards were quite incompetent when someone stole my wallet. I had to follow up with them a few times to get simple answers. Awful experience! Avoid this place, wings were good though hahaha

Oh man! At first I thought it sucked that your AC and the elevators didn’t work and they kinda lie about their table minimums, but then someone just ganked your wallet?! I don’t know how that place stays in business. Every review of OYO from even the most optimistic and kind UA-camrs always ends badly.

Man, I hate that you got your wallet stolen. I did the same thing several years ago at El Cortez. I left El Cortez and made it to Fremont Street around The D, when I discovered I left it. I went to the security desk and miraculously they had it. Everything was there! I wish you the best. Take Care

Then again, many people complain in the reviews and they don’t fix the hotel any faster! 😂
elevators are a high maintenance expense. in poor countries that can't easily support the tech, they don't even bother, and just build nice really wide stairs.

I have to agree. That is definitely the worst property in Vegas. That place needs to be demolished.

I'll post a good story. I left $150+ in a machine at Main Street Station. Realized my mistake four hours later, came back, and someone had printed it out and turned it into security. There are still good people, even in Vegas.
Yes, there are honest people out there. Glad you got your money back, I’ll guess that security wasn’t happy, they were probably hoping no one would try to claim it so they could keep it for themselves. Years ago at a local casino where I live, I turned in $100 left on a machine, I was told that since no one claimed it within 30 days, it became property of the casino, gave me nothing for doing the right thing.
When you knew the ac wasnt working why didnt you complain and get a room with an ac...that was unacceptable Jorge.

The tear down and demolition of the Tropicana next door should include the OYO blight as well. OYO is so shitty it makes Circus Circus seem like a luxury hotel. I have gone to OYO to play 5 dollar craps but as you mentioned it does go up to ten dollars after 4pm. Similar to other casino properties that have 15 dollar craps and then goes up to 25 in the evening. Instead I like to toss dice at Ellis Island and Downtown Grand at $5 min.

Aww I'm so sorry that loser took your belongings like that Jorge. I hope it shows up in the mail eventually, you never know. Were you able to file a police report? it's theft after all, and maybe that would've warned future victims/ thieves. Gonna have to agree with another comment here, since you go to these kinds of places a lot it'd be less headache for you to keep your stuff in a small cross-body bag. I feel you though, that place prob just threw you off.

A casino I will avoid like the plague! So $107. for the room PLUS a CLASSIC VEGAS RIP-OFF RESORT FEE OF $50!!! I don' think so. Sorry you lost your wallet and mow have to go through the pain in the butt of having to cancel and replace all your cards and docs. Thanks for the video Jorge.

I lost my cell phone in Vegas. Thank goodness I had the funds to get me a new phone. After that experience, I learned to carry two phones on my trips.

I stayed there when it was a hooters. The carpet looks exactly the same as it was then, at least a dozen years ago. The wooden headboards are the same, they used to be white wood. Looks like they’ve had a coat of paint. It smelled horrible back then, can’t imagine it’s gotten any better.

Aww man that sucks, get a valcen personal pocket bag, I'm just like you. I'll usually sit down and I have to pull out my cellphone. Cause I can't stand it in my pocket when I'm sitting. So I'll set it on the console. By the buttons, I've forgotten mine a few times and gotten lucky, so I totally get what you're doing with your wallet. Take care man. Love your videos keep it going

I stopped there to kill some time while I was waiting to pick someone up from the airport….my first impression when I walked in was….how is this place still open? It was super ghetto…I sat at a machine and not even my 3rd spin some sketchy looking guy sat by me asking if I wanted to buy an Apple Watch….it was a knock off smh….I barely played $5 of the 20 I put in and decided….I’m better off waiting at the gas station a little closer to the airport….i hope you didn’t actually spend the night there….I’d be afraid to lay on those bed sheets…but thank you for doing this review and warning others….❤

I walked there for food and drinks. A $20 fell out of my pocket and security returned it to me.
I stayed here when it was Hooters and it wasn't great but it wasn't that bad either. I got a decent nights sleep. The Hotel Apache is far worse than this place.
I was always curious about this place because of the cost. But, the elevators not working is a huge F*CK NO! for me and others with disabilities.

Very good video. Besides the CA not working is of course it's VERY dirty and/or there is no FREON. That would be one reason to ask for resort fee waived. Hope you found the guy who took your wallet and gave him a left and right! Because something like that, would be my last straw.

The OYO hotel was a Hooter's Hotel 15 years ago and I am sure that changing the name won't do this place any justice.
Stayed there when it was Hooters. Had to change rooms because of the smell. 2nd room was fine.

I stayed there for 1 night in 2006, which was the first night of my first ever trip... I checked out the next morning and moved to the Rio for the rest of my trip 🤣

Throughout my years of visiting Vegas, I've never stepped my foot inside this place, and I'll never will! 😅 Sucks about wallet, though. I think the only reason why people stay at this place is they can't afford or don't want to pay to stay at nicer hotels on the Strip.

What amazes me is that people know the horrible reputation of this place yet they continue to stay here because it is cheap. Oyo is NOT actually on the Strip. It is on Tropicana. I wouldn't stay at Oyo if it was free. It is an absolute dump. Right next door is the ghetto Howard Johnson's and Motel 6.

I stopped staying on the strip with those prices because I signed up for the players card at The Golden Gate Casino , I get e mail deals for 50 percent off rooms from the golden gate casino I got 4 days - 4 nights for $236.00 . I get to use the pool / jacuzzi at the D Casino and stadium swim at Circa Casino . That’s Sucks Losing And Getting Your Wallet Stolen . I Hope You Win Big Next Time 🎰💰💰💰

Thanks for the review. Sorry about your wallet being taken. But I definitely wouldn’t not stay there. I went to OYO a few months ago to visit a friend who was a guest there, and he said it was terrible. With my own eyes the room was basic and dated, dirty floor, heavy worn dresser, no remote to TV, dirty hallway & elevator.
OYO even changed him a smoke fee ($500) because there sensor detected smoke, here’s the funny part he doesn’t smoke. Last time I checked he was disputing it with his bank.
Also there are regular police incidents that happened at OYO parking garage, my friend also said there were a handful of cars broken during his stay (his wasn’t one of them).
Only positive is the slot is looser and the $5 blackjack is legit. Staff were friendly for the most part.
I stayed a MGM Grand across the street that visit, far better.
I have eaten at Hooters on my last visit to Vegas in 2022.
The "room was super cheap" at $172 for a room that sucked, no AC, no elevators???? So many of the vloggers are numb to the outrage of crazy prices and crap service that they just shrug it off. Thanks for pointing out how bad this was, but don't lose sight of how bad it was!
Thank goodness, all bank cardsc now have lock feature on their apps. Mind is on lock 24/7 unitl i use it.

Hoping you've recovered from that lousy incident. But am wondering if this hotel has a saving grace: can one safely - and for free - park at Oyo and spend 2-3 hrs on the Strip?
OYO's $1 Blackjack table is cruel joke. They only have 1 $1 BJ table that is packed 24/7.The place reeked of smoke and disinfectant.
