On my 2020 2500hd diesel, when I went to the various dealerships to get this fixed, they stated that even with the recommended TSB, all 4 stated GM will not replace the brake control module anymore due to that not being the problem. I pleaded my case time and time again. That blamed it on wiring of the trailer, the trailer brakes, the humidity, etc. In addition, either I got, "it's working as designed", "There is nothing we can do", or my favorite, "thanks for the $195 diagnostic fee, but we can't figure it out so go on your way" - we had to drive 3 more hours without trailer brakes on that one. I finally just went ahead and replaced it myself at like 27k miles. Then again, I have had 48 codes show up on this truck since new. 48 of them, been tracking them on a spreadsheet and I only have 59,570 miles on it at this time. So many problems and so many diagnostic fees I had to pay without zero solutions to most of my problems. I have now ordered a new Ford F350 with the 7.3 and walking away from this lemon of a truck. I am done with Chevrolet as well. They don't stand behind their products, their techs can't even do a proper grease job on the front end since most of them could never find the 9 grease fittings. Most of the time they either disconnected the batteries and just cleared the code to keep me moving down to where it's out of warranty. That is their goal I have determined, if they can clear the code and keep you moving down the mileage route, they will win at the end. I love the styling and the ride, but when the electronics and the sensors continue to fail, miss report, etc - it's just time to give up on them. My favorite suggestion is from OnStar when I was broken down without dash lights and the radio went blank - just pull over, turn it off, open the drivers door, count to 20 and then close your door - most of the time they said, that will solve the dash, radio, etc problem. This is just amazing to me...

Really appreciate posting this! Seems I may have the same issue here with my 2024 2500 HD crew cab towing a 400W factory solar-enabled 2024 trailer as well. It's intermittent soon after start up and early in the drive. But then I get a "Trailer Brakes Connected" message a few mins later and can prove it by checking the trailer gain. To share back a little more intel, this is the 3rd software/firmware issue I've had with this truck. The other is with the constant DC 12v circuit on the 7-pin. Thanks to UA-cam truck reviews that had this issue testing near the Flint, MI facility that has this issue, then another video explaining the fix, I confirmed Chevy has a "not constant" current on that pin of their connector for some reason (not sure). Backup camera's with the factory 12V circuit may "flicker on/off" constantly as a result. The gist is that required a Furrion adapter 7-pin female to 7-pin male that links that pin to another pin with constant 12V DC voltage. And voila, my Furrion S backup camera worked constantly. Lastly, when the truck was very new under 1K miles, the truck bricked. That was a simple fix seen on another UA-cam video of disconnecting the heavily loaded battery terminal that provides power to all the computer modules constantly. I worked in integrated electronics with firmware on dedicated MCU/MPUs for 15 years, so know the telltale signs of firmware/software corner case issues. The truck is an awesome towing beast mechanically, but GM is still figuring out the software/firmware on these in the real world. All the new trucks are data centers on wheels.

I had this same issue this past weekend with my 2024 Duramax hauling a utility trailer with brakes. It can no way have anything to do with trailer batteries. I had a 4 hour trip with the trailer and it did it every 3-4 minutes!! Drove me nuts the whole time!! I had to crank the music to try and ignore it as there was no way to stop it!!

There is a technical service bulletin for this issue. If I recall correctly, the fix from GM is to switch out the brake control module. From what I gather, the tsb seems to solve this issue for most people.

I also have a 2024 3500, I tow two new trailers one is a dump trailer and the other is an enclosed work trailer. Mine u can be setting still and it will go from connected to check trailer brake. I have checked plugs and can find nothing . The brakes will work but the gain will not respond. If it’s intermittent problem dealership is always saying they can’t get it to replicate. I have just learned to live with it. That’s not the right answer but I can’t keep taking time off to go set at the dealership and get no where. If there is a fix from GM please post again I would like to get mine fixed right.

I have the same problem with my travel trailer (no solar, unlike the video). The dealership has reset my brake module a couple times, but can't seem to reproduce it either. It happens most often when shifting in or out of park.

I had a 21 2500 HD gmc and from day 1 the brake controller would go between ck trailer wiring and trailer noticed. Checked trailer wiring by putting Amp meter on brake wire and engaging brake stayed around 12 amps, wiggled wires etc etc,no problems found . took to dealer and of course they said it's in the trailer. Went back took the trailer apart, put on new 7 pin connector, ran extra ground . On my way down to Florida from Michigan the trailer ck wiring must have popped on 200 times and stayed on for less than 1 second each time telling me the P.O.S. truck is the problem. Bought RV lot, sold junk truck and am now happy

Hey there! Just wanted to ask if anyone else has experienced any issues with the wireless phone charger in the 2024 2500hd? It seems to charge intermittently when the phone has a case on.

Hey there! I wanted to ask about the type of case you have for your phone. I've got the OtterBox defender, which is a bit thicker. Another person mentioned they have the OtterBox commuter, which is thinner. I'm starting to think that maybe my phone case is a bit too thick.
