    I'm 66 years old. In my day we just rode. Our bikes leaked oil and everything else, but we just enjoyed the ride. I went from Wisconsin to California on a Honda 750cc. I was sore as hell, but it was the best ride ever. Harley, Honda Kawasaki or scooter. Just enjoy the the freedom, the wind and the ride!!! Yes, I have a Harley....

    I have a 2016 Softail Slim S in the olive gold I bought brand new. I will never sell that bike. The look, performance and power of the bike is astounding. Plus being 5'6" it fits me. Still love the bike as much if not more than the day I bought it. I did change out the handle bars for a set of 16 inch apes. Additionally, the stock seat sucks. Changed that out and been very happy.

      Agree... the Slim S is unreal and perfect sizing for me as I am 5'7". Fits like a glove!

    As for your bars, it's all a matter of personal preference but I love those bars. I would never put apes on any bike but that's just me. For this bike and the look they were trying to accomplish IMO Harley nailed it with the Hollywood bars, wrongly referred to by many as 'motocross' bars. Hollywood bars are wider and much more comfortable than a motocross bar and a throwback to the old Harleys of the thirties and forties. I've changed bars on every bike I've owned, I'm 68 and I've had 'several'. I installed a set of these on a super glide custom. The bike is a bit lowered and not only do the bars in black give it a great look and stance, love the way it handles.😉

      Well said, I completely agree, absolutely love the Hollywood bars. Thanks for the comment! 👍

    I have a 2016 slim. You have an improved rear suspension over mine. Took a bit of adjustment, but yeah, I agree, very nice ride! 👍

    I’ve sat on this a week ago and instantly loved it and that was just from sitting on it.

    My name is Francisco I have a 2016 slim. The kickstand I leave the flow board and I'd be able to see the whole kickstand no problems lifting it up and putting it down.

    I’ll take your old SPORTSTER manual for my 883. Ha! Love the vids. Keep em coming.

    Dude, the Slim wasn't even on my radar, but I'm kind of digging it after seeing your last three vids. Hopefully the weather will clear up soon and I'll get on one.

      Only have about 170 miles on it so far but really lovin it. The weather here has been awful. Going to try and get those pipes out tomorrow or Thursday for you.

      Tony Cox thanks, brother! Really appreciate it. It'll make for a nice comparison vid with the Big Radius.

    You'll shift less often because you now have much more torque, but also the 883 has the lowest gearing of the Harley line. So when you 1275'd your 883, you made it faster off the line than any stock 1200 by far. Glad yer pleased with your slim! I was nearly going to get one, but I still ride like a moron after all these years and like the ground clearance and handling of the Dyna's and FXR's.

    I don't understand people unsubscribing do to you getting another model. I like the content creator, that's the reason for the sub. Keep up the great videos. Glad you're a UK fan and not a fan of the "other" school!

    I'm looking to upgrade my wife from her XL883L to a slim. Probably can't swing a new one right now. { I just bought a new pick up truck last month....ouch!} But very interested in a used one. She loves the 2014 in the Candy Orange color. We plan on riding some this summer to see if she likes them or not. That is if it ever quits snowing here in northeast Ohio. Enjoy your vids. Ride Safe!

    That's always been a pet peeve of mine about the lack of fuel gauges on Sportsters. They should have them... It's not like it would cost a lot to put one on.... Come on hd.

    Tony, great video fella thanks. How tall are you bud and what miles are you getting per tank chum? Not per gallon, I’m in The UK so our measurements are different

  • @MrHasie
    @MrHasie 6 років тому

    I don't trust gas guages, I still track via miles even in the car (had a car that gas guage broke). Its pretty much habit now. Personally, getting into the habit of checking mpg at each fill-up gives me an idea of range depending on riding conditions and especially if there's an issue or someone is siphoning gas 😑

    Hate the JA at 1:33 mowing his lawn and blowing it in to the road. That's should be illegal in every state.

    HD went to great lengths to hide wiring and plumbing and you want a USB port on top of the tank? SMH
    I added a port to my Fat Bob Dyna and put it right where they have the new ones. Pop the phone mount and cable off, close the port cover and everything is nice and neat.

    Maybe they hid the usb to ensure it wont get wet direct contact in rain?

      Maybe, just an odd placement.

      I'm 6'1" and it is good for me. I tend to rest my feet on the front half of the floor boards but overall a joy to ride.

      Patrick Joseph I’m 6’1 and I love this bike I have 200 miles on it but it is a tad cramped I put the mustache engine guard and it really helped me stretching my legs out. Amazing Bike!!

    Was your dealer weird about you doing your own work to the bike? The folks where I got mine told me that I need to come to them for everything or risk losing my warranty. I've been going to a shop I trust instead and annotating all the work but I'm just curious.

    • @TonysGarage
      @TonysGarage  6 років тому

      They do recommend that you do your 1000 mile and 5000 mile service there so it is documented in case something does go wrong, but as far accessories never said a word. Now with that being said I trust my own work much more than the dealers.

    • @garyc9030
      @garyc9030 6 років тому

      That’s nonsense..... keep your receipts to show proof of your maintenance records etc. that’s all you need to protect your warranty. Now if you use non-HD parts and they can prove the non-HD part caused a problem them that may void your warranty.
