You could make them the night before and store them in a cake tin without the icing sugar. The next morning simply dust them with the icing sugar & ready.

@@carolwinder7769 Hi, Carol. I used All Purpose. I made two attempts. I under-kneaded the first time and found, as you did, they were quite heavy. I went longer next time (~10-15min) and achieved a better result.
We apparently have different definitions of easy...to me this looks like two hours of work and half an hour of dishes for something that will basically make me fat 😂
You need more than egg, flour, and sugar as well as a lot if time. That said, it looks worth the trouble to prepare and i know id love them! Thanks for sharing.

I would think plain flour as she uses yeast (we call it plain flour in the UK meaning flour without raising agents)

Because it's bread not cake. But a little salt would be good. Not much tho cause yeast don't like salt.
