- The Kiwi bird is one of the world's strangest birds. It doesn't fly, lives in dark burrows and has a very long thin beak. The flightless bird is found on New Zealand's isolated islands but how did such a bird find itself in the middle of the ocean? Looking at their distant relatives from the cassowary to the moa, provides surprising insight into the kiwi's own history. With the species under severe threat, a group of biologists have a plan to rescue Kiwi eggs and raise them, before releasing them back to the wild once they're strong enough to fend for themselves.
Modern Dinosaurs is a spectacular series that explores the unique and diverse wildlife of one of the world's historically isolated countries, New Zealand. Isolated from the world for 100 millions years, New Zealand has had room to grow and is now home to exquisite plants and bizarre animal species. This documentary series explores the modern dinosaurs inhabiting the natural wonders of New Zealand.

Very interesting documentary 🎉
It was the third New Zealand endemic species of birds of prey -- Kērangi / Eyles's harrier (Circus teauteensis), also gigantic compared to other harriers.
