I like him as Gambit but Idk it depends on how young they're going to say that this new team is because I want it to make sense within the Canon now I'm not against him being in the universe and them just saying he's a variant if it doesn't work out but technically I mean it could work because his movie was canceled so he's not really part of a specific continuity even though he was intended to be for the fox universe he's really not, whatever they do just has to make sense within Canon but again I'm not against two versions of the characters existing in the same universe it's not like it hasn't been done in the comics because it actually has in both DC and marvel but my personal opinion is I think that he should be a variant because I know with Hugh Jackman they're going to keep him and they're also going to have the MCU wolverine who's a younger version of Logan me personally I think they should start normalizing in the movies variants that are trapped on other earths I think the concept would be really cool but that's just me
All I want is kitty pride. She is one of my favorites and has probably the most character growth from any of the xmen from her first appearance in the comics to today's comics.

So far DanielRPK confirmed we will see Angel, Iceman, Jubilee, Gambit and Kitty. I hope the lineup is a mix of the original, giant size and the 90’s series. Cyclops, Jean, Storm, Beast, Nightcrawler, Colossus, Rogue and Thunderbird should be part of the main core. I would save Wolverine for the sequel.
plus the benefit with gambit. do to tatum they already have multiple scrips to go off of and retool. dudes been trying to get a gambit movie or show onto the screen for almost a decade now. with gambit were in the same boat as deadpool one. all the pieces are in place and have been for quite a while the studio just needs to give it the green light.
My personal roster I would go with is a combination of x-men 97 and wolverine and the x-men. Cyclops Storm Beast Emma frost Gambit Rogue Night crawler Kitty pryde Wolverine introduced in the sequel What about Jean ? She is replaced by Emma and we will have Jean in a coma or something.
