Mark Tremonti’s 100-watt signature amp-five years in the making-features three totally independent channels spanning silky, substantial clean tones, responsive, controlled overdrive, and white-hot lead sounds that exhibit incredible definition at the highest gain levels. Watch @ZachWish take this three-channel monster through its paces.
The result of many years of R&D and road-testing, the MT 100 is a profes- sional amp for serious musicians. Built on a robust chassis, the MT 100 fea- tures custom transformers and three independent channels with identical controls but truly unique voices.
Each of the MT 100’s three channels is built from its own unique circuit with dedicated preamp tubes to ensure the voicing of each channel is exactly as intended. The Clean channel (like the MT 15) stays pristine and chimey - try it with split or single coils to hear it sing. The Gain channel (also like the MT 15) gets lush heavy tones with massive bass response that is never muddy. And, the added Overdrive channel (modeled after one of Tremonti’s favorite personal amps) brings an incredibly flexible gain structure and musical midrange response to this already versatile amp platform. Select your chan- nel on the amp face or via the included footswitch - both feature matching channel lights so you’ll never lose your place. All three channels share the same preamp tube type (12AX7’s) for ease of servicing.
At a powerful 100 watts, the value of the MT 100 well exceeds its price tag. It is a straightforward, powerful amp full of aggression and articulation, and the onboard effects loop means your pedals are welcome to join the party.
Please note: Mind your master...volume that is. On the Overdrive and especially on the Lead channel, keep the Master down to start. On the Lead Channel, keep the Master below 10 o’clock to avoid dangerous volumes!

Zach is an outstanding demo guy. Actually plays songs instead of just noodling. Really demonstrates the gear the way it should be. This seems like a killer amp though I have no need for a 100 watt amp.
I’d take ch 2 in a 50 watter or even 25 anyday. I probably wouldn’t ever need a 100 w again either haha.

on both demos ive seen with various different headphones, the gain just sounds weirdly brittle and has a buzz up top. doesnt sound bad, but also not amazing. also great playing from Zach here.

Anyway… very good sounding amp, really! All 3 channels are great and focus on their purpose.
I love clear front panel amplifiers, I find them easily usable without lots of switches, push pulls and leds.
But I have to say that I’d see an half power toggle… for my personale experience, on little stages 50watts are usable more than 100watts.
Mental note to put on some Dimmu Borgir tomorrow 👌🏻 thanks 😄

Great demo. No shade to any other presenters out there, but most often the dude doing the demo is just vastly out of their depth when trying to play the style of music the product is marketed towards - in this case, high gain rock/metal. This demo really shows all of the amp's capabilities, and well.

Because he's such a fan of Mesa Boogie amps for 99% of his career you'll need to AB this with their Badlander. Battle of the SLO/Rectifier style amps.
Stellar review and playing as always! I think Paul Reed Smith just took the #1 spot in the 100 watt tube head division. This amp sounds absolutely incredible. The clean channel is pristine, the overdrive channel covers all your hot rodded Marshall type sounds perfectly, and the lead channel is so tight, thick and perfectly saturated. Plus for $1,849.00 this amp is an absolute bargain. Just watched some new videos of the ENGL Special Edition Founders Edition and although that amp rips as well I honestly prefer the sounds of the PRS MT100. It's also $2,000 less than the ENGL which is just absurd. Let's go Paul Reed Smith! I'm majorly impressed.

Loving the review clips - very tempted to supplant my MT-15 with a MT-100. Was the effects loop tried out? Wondering if they’ve fixed the MT-15’s noisy effects loop issue.

The newer 5881 tube equipped mt15 already addressed the noisy loop. The older 6l6 equipped mt15 is very noisy.
@@Ron4president09 Wish I could say that were true across the board, but I have that version and it’s got the noisy effects loop issue. From what I’ve read, I’m not the only one. I did swap V3 AX7 for an AU7 which helped a bit. Have had a noise gate for awhile so that’s not an option. Short of having a modder address it, seems I have to live with it. Can’t say I notice it while playing, but def during pauses.
@@crimsonwring2723 bummer… sorry to hear that, mine is dead quiet. I dont even run a 4 cable noise gate because its so quiet. I guess prs’ QC isnt as bulletproof as others suggest. I am surely going to wait to buy mt100 until they release the v2 or at least address the inherent bugs that new amp models are always plagued with.

I appreciate a good new product review, and god knows PG does some of the best ones, but there are at least 20 more out on the same day. I'm not crazy about flooding the UA-camr's all at once, it's overload.

First few demos I heard I wasn’t really digging it. Some of them made it sound a bit solid state with a this, fizzy ultra high and a round tubby bottom with hyper-compressed gain with no bite. I still have a feeling it’s probably biased very cold and might benefit from opening up the master a bit more. This was much, much better.
