You were 100% right about this thing, mine just came in today, and it’s a BEAST! Full of Tremontiliciousness! I bought this bc of your review so thanks man! Keep up the great content brother!
Guitarists: I want an all tube amp! No transistors or microchips allowed! And I also want an onboard digital IR loader. I really like the look of this brutally straightforward amp. The bells and the whistles can be added with outboard gear; an amp should be simplified enough to be completely reliable over decades of use.
PRS MT series amps are so special. The MT-15 is incredible for it's size. Paired with a 1x12 slant Mesa it's literally the perfect middle ground chug box that can hang with a drummer
First time I’ve ever come across your channel and have to say this was an amazing review. Super clear and concise while also giving tons of RELEVANT examples for most of us Tremonti fanatics by playing clips of some of his greatest riffs across all channels. Seriously, top notch. You’ve gained a sub! I’ve been on a pre-preorder list at sweetwater as soon as Tremonti officially revealed the amp and am so glad I did. Can’t wait to get this thing in my hands in just a week or two!
Im a proud owner of a MT 15 and I cant wait to get my MT 100 Amp and use it with my 2x12 Orange OB Cabinet with 2 Eminence DV-77 Speakers. It's going to sound great!!
My lord… that amp is a chunky chonk for sure! Easily could be selling it for an absurd price but they still managed to keep it somewhat budget friendly…not my budget… but someone’s for sure lol! Definitely sounds amazing and honestly if they came out with a MT line of cabs with his speakers as well… what a rig that would make. As always thank you Hunter, as yours, kyles, fluffs, and Olas opinions are highly respected by myself lol
The MT100 is super nice, imagine if they came out with a MT412 The MT15 and MT112 on the gain channel on HALF POWER would fill an entire store if you turned the gain up past 7 o'clock (from my experience last month, at least) If that translated to the MT100 and if the MT412 became a reality, you could probably play an entire stadium without the cab being mic'd
Dude your intro with you overdubbing with those cleaner tones was EPSICK 🔥. This amp looks and sounds like it might be my go-to amp with the future!!!!🤘 It's got simple controls no MIDI, You can hook up two cabinets that are 16 ohm, hopefully they come out with a tremonti 4-12 angled and straight cabs. I like that the three channels are voiced a little bit different and the clean channel is quite a bit different. The samp looks like the go-to amp for old school junkies like me! 💯 PRICE LOOKS GOOD TOO. I think I'm in love with this one ✌️
I didn't even know this was a thing that was happening but as the MT15 is one of the best amps I've ever fiddled with in Guitar Center, I imagine a 100 version would be 7 1/2X better!
My first reaction when you started playing your song there at the beginning was "Holy shit, this has to be one of his best in-the-mix tones so far!". Sounded real killer my man! (As it always fucking does, you assh*le😆😆) Mark has been one of my all-time favorite guitar player even since stumbling upon the first Alter Bridge album. Never so much in Creed, don't really know why. His riffs and writing are just on another level!
Dude, I have always said the musicians in creed were way better than most give them credit for. I have a couple of suggestions. First, this one is easier to explain. I think you should do a metal version of the Tom Delong guitar. Like your second signature if given the opportunity. Next, Try to convince them to do something similar to a Dave Mustain V. Their headstock for the Amorock series would look good on it. I like Dave's V, however I want one with just one pickup in the bridge. Anyways, your videos are top notch for info. Take care and good luck.
@@sinakaedwards2009 maybe AB first album because he wrote most of it for Creed! AB was a lot heavier, used many different tuning, two guitar players, different time signatures, more talented vocals! Nothing like Creed, even though Creed was way more commercial and had simpler songs for the masses! To say it’s Creed with another signer and they NEVER played one Creed song with Myles is just not a well thought out or factual statement!
It's a really dark full sound, it's not the biting aggressive 5150 turbometal sound. I think this is very much a rock/punk/alt rock amp disguised as a metal amp. It's made for full background rhythm that DOESN'T cut. Yeah, I'm sure you could bring it forward, but it doesn't naturally do it like a lot of other metal amps. Really really cool amp that does something different and has a ton of authority across the frequency range. It's nearly exactly my head sound, I'm surprised someone else like Tremonti has the exact same taste. What a cool dude.
As someone who’s been shouting Mark “The Tremonster” Tremonti’s name from the rooftops since I first heard him in ‘97 when I heard Creed, I knew he was an AMAZING AND EXTREMELY TALENTED PLAYER!! 99% of people thought I was an IDIOT and literally would laugh out loud at me whenever we’d discuss who the best players were at any given point in time and I’d always put Mark’s name 2nd on my list behind Kirk Hammett and or James Hetfield (because Metallica was my favorite band of all time and still very well may be aside from a couple others that happen to include the man himself). Over a quarter of a century later it’s amazing to see how far he’s come and how many people now appreciate his music and his abilities both as a player and as a songwriter!!!
i hope this amp sound good and have a plenty amount of saturation even in low volume, im saying bedroom level. lol new subs by the way tnx for awesome review 😊
How responsive are the tone controls on the rhythm and lead channels? I saw one review that noted their lack of response. Is it a set everything at noon and you got good tone kind of amp?
Anything printed in the documentation or on the back of the amp as far as build origin? Are these U.S. made or overseas like the MT15 and Sonzera? They're priced over $1800, so I'm trying to figure out if the price is due to the lack of modern features, or if they're built overseas or not.

@@resistorstudios Its 100W and has no studio friendly features. This is also not rocket science. It is basic sound engineering though that you want to mic an amp at a level the mic does best at, which is not cranked to 11 with 100W going to your 4x12. I can just plug my Marshall or my H&K into the Tascam with Cab sim or IR in the DI, or mic either at their 40W settings or at lower attenuation. You're going to fight this beast.
@michaelmenkes7233 its a high gain amp with a master volume. Being studio friendly is inherent in the fact that its a modern high gain amp. You dont need to crank it to 11 to get a good sound from an amp where 99% of its tone is coming from the preamp... i never have any issues recording my amps at lower volumes. I have an uberschall....5150... jcm 2000.... elmwood modena, triple x. All sound great at low volumes through a REAL cab and is way easier than messing around with Di or IRs or any of that nonsense.
@@beautague9163 I have Lundgrens on my Banshee Mach 6. It Djents! Problem is they ONLY Djent IMO. I have another Schecter with apocalypse pickups... way more versatile and overall better tone. Lundgrens sound flubby imo
@@Sgt6217imma have to disagree man, I got the same guitar as you except with 7 strings and it does well in all applications that make sense to use them. The thing that sold me on them was the clarity, I came from mainly wanting active pickups but got a good deal on the Mach 7 and man I can’t think of anything I’d swap em with. We all got different tastes though; I was just saying it definitely does way more than djent, all depends on what gear you use and how you dial it in.
Does anyone else have very bad noise issues with this amp? I’m not trying to be a hater at all! I saved up to get this amp and I have been having that issue since I have owned it.
would be nice if it had midi, to switch with the 4 cable method, like with a Helix instead of having to have the footswitch on your board as well and having to press two buttons how hard would it have been to have the footswitch be a midi thing? it sounds great, but ease of use is also important
To me this amp sounds so dark and dirty... Like a sheet over the speakers kind of thing. It isn't my favorite.. The new Uberschall has days worth of gain too but sounds 100x better. I don't get it. Maybe it was the low tuning? Might be the 6L6 tubes? I don't know. I think the Bogner would be the better buy but it's also 2x as much.
@@agufish I have the import. Sent it in for repair twice now and I bought it new in March of this year. Never seems to run right. It’s actually at prs right now getting warranty work lol
@@agufish first time it just died. I was jamming and no power, no lights, no sound, no tube glow, no hum. Every fuse I checked in that fucker was good, everything I know how to check with a multimeter was good, tubes were good (even though I don’t think they’d entirely kill the amp), power cable tested fine, I tried every outlet in my apartment. Just fucking dead. PRS said it was some kind of deep internal fuse short or some shit, fixed it, sent it back. Worked for a few months then the sound would drop out randomly but really bad when it did it. I got fed up with it and ended up jumping the fx loop with a patch cable and the sound cuts stopped but it was noisy as absolute fuck running it like that. Take the patch cable out and sound would cut in and out. Sent it back and they’ve had it a couple weeks now. Very annoying.
@@riffstud93The first issue is indeed very weird and a major failure, you got lucky nothing burned. The second issue is actually very simple, the FX loop uses switched jacks, meaning that if a cable isn't plugged, the jack itself is closing the circuit with its contacts, if these contacts are dusty/rusty, then you'll have an intermittent signal drop, just as you described. Clean the jacks with the proper spray, or simply plug a cable into them lots of times to dislodge the crap on the contacts. Lots of other amp brands suffer from this, Marshall amps are notorious!!
it will never seize to amaze me how an absolute iconic brand like PRS would basically chain a whole segment of their gear, to some random american butt rock dude from the naughs. I mean I get it, he is a thing for some people and I get why he gets signature gear. But PRS basically both did a single cut ONLY for that dude AND an amp. Thats like Marshall building a first ever guitar for Machinegun Kelly or some shit.
The video itself was awesome as always but if I'm being honest I didn't love the amp. I will have to listen to some more demos to form a better opinion.
Dude I've come to realize every amp I play I dial in the same tone. Unless pups/cab make it not possible to get exact but it's like I prefer just a specific blend of gain, lows, mids, treble etc..that I can find on any amp or guitar lol
when you add all that shit to an amps circuit it fucks with everything in it. Probably why tremonti didn’t include those things since he is incredibly particular with the sound of each channel. (Why this took 5 years to drop)
Bruh, y'all complaining with features that you can easily add with pedals and other devices, that are actually better than built-in crap, and I'm here thinking why in the heck this amp doesn't have depth/resonance control, at least for the lead channel 😂😂
Yes. It was worth the wait for this chonkiest of chonk machines 🤘

Dude I've come to realize every amp I play I dial in the same tone. Unless pups/cab make it not possible to get exact but it's like I prefer just a specific blend of gain, lows, mids, treble etc..that I can find on any amp or guitar lol
No boost
No noise gate
No footswitchable fx loop
No cab emulation
It’s almost 2024 and we expect more from our amps.
Then it would be $1000 more expensive
when you add all that shit to an amps circuit it fucks with everything in it.
