I am a happy owner of a light tackle and I picked up the venture for my wife last week. We paddled down the San Marcos river last weekend and she loved it. This boat will fit our needs well as we enjoy kayak camping and fishing. It seems to have the right combo of space, agility, and stability for most of our river trips here in Texas. Looking forward to getting it back out ASAP!
I like to fish large flat water. Like big lakes and ponds. But I also want a throw and go kayak. Easy enough to throw in the back of my truck for a quick trip to the lake. Is the ck1 the best one for me?
First time I watched this video, I wish you had this zip-up hoodie available for purchase but I don't see it on your website. Going to be doing another run of them this winter?
@@crescent-kayaks Thanks for the response. Called ACK this morning , said it would be couple of months till they had them in stock. Any info you have where I can get one sooner in TX. I’d appreciate it.
Looks like a great boat. Would you know if the indent on the stern would fit a trolling motor? I was thinking a Bixpy motor with their adapter which would clamp on and tilt up and down like a regular trolling motor setup.
@@crescent-kayaks James DerBecker, I asked Tom Bilyeu if he would interview you. I hope he comes through. Your interview after the fire was awesome and needs a larger platform and better acoustics. Your message will resonate with many people and needs to be heard. I don’t own a kayak but after a recent trip to Arkansas (and using a borrowed one) hope to purchase one soon. My choice will be a Crescent Kayak. Wishing your team continued success. Please let me know if Tom comes through. I can be reached at lilfella67@aol.com
do you have any plans to make models with high and low seat positions? the CK1 and Lite Tackle seem awesome but the seat seems so low compared to other options
Dear Crescent, I'm a proud owner of a lite tackle. I love how you guys combine paddling performance in a fishing kayak. My one suggestion is I would give up some of the cavernous storage of the LiteTackle to sit a little lower in the yak for even better paddling performance. If you made a yak that favored the paddler a little more than the LiteTackle I'd be all over it and I bet others would too!
Prayer answered. I've been really wanting a Crescent. Loved the idea of the light ultralite, but was concerned I was too big for it. The lite tackle is simply too heavy. I often have to carry alone to reach Colorado lakes. I believe you created a perfect middle ground. I'm the ultimate kayak enthusiast so I really appreciate James passion for his work. And that green is flipping awesome! I want something powerboats see.
James; Thank you for going forward with this design. This is exactly what I wanted in a Crescent. I have the LT and it performs better than any kayak I've ever paddled. However that full keel does drag out in our Shenandoah Valley local rivers more so than all my other crafts. I just picked up a Camo CK1 today at Journey Outdoors in Lexington Virginia. What an AWESOME store to represent your product line!! As for your "Camo Color" it is VERY Tastefully Done... .. Does not look GI Joe in the least bit. I was surprised that my wife liked it better than the other color choices. Anyway, I can't wait to get it on the water!! It reminds me of my Jackson Coosa a lot as for the design. However I realize that this one will track better due to the signature keel integration..
The CK1 looks 🔥. Luv the Open Floorplan for hauling all your stuff. I'll check some local shops to see if they carry that one in stock. Thanks for reviewing it.
How easy would it be to put that bow cover over the hatch plate on the LT? I think that pouch would be very functional and removing the bungees may reduce a hook snag point...
You guys are headed in the right direction. Some of us are willing to sacrifice initial stability for a better performing boat. I have appt at local dealer next week. When will these be available?
Please tell me you are working with a tackle version of the Crew! Love the front storage option on this and the optional bucket. Would love to see that option for the Crew.
Anyone here know if I could take the ck1 in bay waters? I’m new to kayak fishing and have only gone on trips in creeks. Just wondering if I could take it in bigger waters?
Hey man would love to know what beach break or region you paddled captured via drone is- Ga coast or N fla ?? Either way.. incredible ingenuity in that boat design. Nicely done fellas. You should be proud. That hull z, aesthetic/ simplicity , width , price point, stability and apparently sea worthiness taking on 2 footers without stuffing is gonna be the new standard. Yeesh.
If you guys made an optional cooler that fits in the tankwell space that would be amazing. Looking to get a ck1 as soon as more get shipped to waterdog outfitters in Michigan. Waiting for them to get that blue 😁🙏
Shipping a bunch before the release but going very fast. ACK will have them but I’m sure they will sell same day. Quarry Springs Outfitters are shilling as well abs dealer locator on site!
@@crescent-kayaks Got one from Headwaters distribution N. California. A Seattle contact affiliated with Headwaters is going to bring it up. Super stoked!
Really think you guys missed it by taking away the front hatch and hull access like on the lite tackle. Really wish you guys would do the lite tackle with the same length and size as this model, keeping the big front hatch and hull access and the cubbies for tackle. Some horizontal rod storage would be nice and and a better way of raising and lowering the seat. This would be the perfect fishing kayak for small rivers and creeks. Your kayaks are awesome though. You are probably the closest to having the perfect skinny water fishing kayak of anyone and at a great price. Keep up the good work.
Really nice video, you can see the passion for the product. I LOVE that Crescent blasted into the 11t market with this perfect boat! But dude, what's the hair about?
That sounds like every dealer in the country on about any top brand kayak in that $700 to $1200 price range. The demand is higher than ever for mid priced top quality kayaks and Crescent is one of the top brands in this price range. The other problem is it's a new kayak for 2021 so getting one is going to be tough early on. I think Crescent knocked it out of the ball park with this offering.
Beautiful kayaks! I encourage you to stay away from doing blended colors. Stay with solids. A lot of companies it seems that all that you can get from them are blended colors and sometimes the blend patterns don't transition too smoothly. Stay with solid colors! I like that lightest baby blue color. If I didn't have so many I'd buy one. How come no large hatch for internal storage? You could design it to sit flush in the forward tank well with a raised lip. Is Crescent Kayaks a new company? Subscribed ...
Light Tackle 👉👉👉 2
Is there a CK1 “2” soon to be released?
Picked up a CK1 a couple of weeks ago. Taking it out in its maiden voyage tomorrow. Then, taking it in an overnight camping trip next weekend.
I just bought one from SUP and Skiff in Orlando. He’s picking it from you all this week!
Did Drew ever do that fishing video? I can't seem to find it.
Just picked a ck1 up the other day and it’s incredible.

Yes sir! Bigger water lends itself to the CK1 over Primo for little more performance
