After watching this video I picked one of these up for $189 shipped to my door. I'm loving it. I use it for a mix of music and home theater and it exceeds my expectations in both areas. I like your idea of changing out the driver. That's something I may do in the future to get a little more performance out of it.
I just bought this minutes ago at a total price of $179.09 shipped with tax including all my cashback and coupons. Excited to continue this video and hear his perspective knowing that I got this for half off the actual street price.
Nemo - just wanted to say a big thank you for this video. You seem to be the only UA-cam reviewer that has done a proper video on this sub. I’m about 80/20 HT to music but I love music and have a very modest dedicated 2.1-channel system with JBL Studio 530s as my speakers (got them on sale for $270…quite the deal). It’s hard for me to justify spending $500+ on a sub based on my use case but I’d still like a decent sub for music - I think the 550P will fit the bill perfectly. I ordered one yesterday for $190 and I’m excited to test it out. BTW…I’ve got two Rels (a HT1205 and a HT1003) in my HT system, largely based on your reviews. They perform EXACTLY as you described and I couldn’t be happier with them; speed and accuracy/detail is amazing. Anyway, thanks again…keep up the great work.
hey Jake, glad you found the vid helpful. The JBL 550p is great and at $190 it's as good as a sub can be, it won't be as clean as your 1205 but at 1/4th the price we don't expect it to :)
Something worth noting for the 550p is that it has some pretty serious QC issues. I bought two of these for $350 around 2017 and both plate amps have had problems. Every time mine wakes up from standby, I literally have to walk over and kick it for it to actually start playing. Now, I couldn't care less at this point because $350 for a few solid years of use is an alright deal and I'm ready to upgrade anyway. Just something to keep in mind, considering Ive seen quite a few others with similar issues.
I got one for $189 for my bedroom system. I did a little polyfill and it sounds great. Great buy. Won't keep up with my SB4000, but I didn't expect it to.
I can’t fathom how they make money off this when it’s at $199. You are literally getting 80% of a SB12 (both in response and quality) for half the price when both are on sale. I can see why it used to be in the Synthesis series. It’s a quality sub. Throw sheer output out the window and think about all things that we talk about when considering good bass. Outside of the Speedwoofer 10s and PL200, this is among the better under $400 subwoofers flat out.
JBL is high on the driver technology from way back. I was building some speakers when I was 14 (1980) that used a 15" with a 4-inch ribbon wire(flat to remove the air gap that round wire would make) wound voice coil. It was 101db at 1 watt, and it was several years old then. I was tri-amplifying with an electronic crossover, which I had a horsepower for at the time I thought was cool.
@@NemoPropaganda honestly, I find the XTZ subs to be way to slow/boomy for music (I have a 10.17 edge and have owned their older stuff). For home teather they are fine though as they have impressive output for their size (a lot of port noise though...). But maybe thats just my experience so feel free to reach out to them, they seem to be happy to share their products with youtubers! I really enjoy their edge A2-300 budget stereo amplifier! Great review by the way! 🙂
@@NemoPropaganda Hi Nemo. Im going to give the guys at XTZ a call on Monday and try to make them send you the 8, 10 and 12inch subs for review, cus your the best subreviewer on YT,, 👍⭐👍. Cheers and all the best,, 🍻😎👍!
So you mentioned the Emotiva SE12. I have a few more expensive ones I’m looking at but I can’t get two for under $500 for pretty much anything decent. At $189 for this and $269 for the SE12, which would you buy a pair of? Question is for anyone.
Bought a pair of these to run as stereo subs, augmenting a pair of AV123 encore x-ls speakers.. I'm running the mains full range and crossing in the subs @80Hz + 180 degrees out of phase. The subs sound awesome! I've got to mention I have each of them hooked up to an OSD iDSP Sub EQ tuned flat from 30-80Hz. They drop sharply after 30hz. I boosted the bottom end a bit and even with that the limiter kicks in hard @ 30hz. I think the capacitor soldered onto the driver terminals might be a subsonic filter that is the cause of the sharp roll off. Anyhow, I got them both on sale for $290 after coupon code, and at this price they were a steal. It has the fundamentals of a great musical sub...Low Q alignment, low group delay, well built driver, braced sealed cabinet. I can't build this thing for the price paid. Time will tell how long the amps last, but I do not abuse them and I always manually power them on/off when not in use.
I don’t think I caught the DIY part of this video for some reason - but now I’m intrigued. It’s a nice cabinet with enough power to drive a nicer speaker. It’s a big box for a sealed 10” in my opinion which allows some decent extension with a more potent driver. I do wish JBL/Harmon took home subs more seriously, because if they could do this with a cheaper sub, I’d love to see what they could have done with some proper money behind it.
For the price this sub is hard to beat. I bought mine for the $190 sale price and it's outright better than my comparably priced Dayton SUB-1200 in nearly every single metric. The only place where the Dayton wins is extension and ability to fill the room evenly. Even with less than half the power, the 12" woofer definitely does its thing in movie soundtracks where shaking the whole room is part of the experience. The Dayton stays in the living room and does a fine job for home theater and gaming. The JBL is in my computer room on a dedicated music setup. In the smaller room it really hammers. Both subwoofers definitely have good build quality but the JBL is plainly better built. Every single component is several steps higher in quality than the Dayton. Especially the internal amplifier. The Dayton is well designed and well tuned so as to get the best from its modest build. The JBL is much more powerful and impactful and doesn't have the same in-built limitations. Similar price, but two very different classes of subwoofer. Both are easily worth more than their current sale price.
Just stumbled on this exact sale. So.. Just looking for opinions. I had sold all my EV DJ gear and have all QSC now. I bought the 12.2's but found they really don't have the bass I was hoping I'd have for small backyard and house parties. Is this OK enough to provide a bit of punch for those very small house parties or should I look elsewhere? Now of course for my bigger venues I use a much larger set up so this is only asking strictly for the house parties. Thx
Hey! Hopefully you'll see this but I actually have the JBL 550p and saw that you said that you put a JL W3 in it and it sounded great. Well I happen to have a JL W3v3 with 4 Ohms lying around. Do you think it's okay for me to switch out the subs? I have typical home theater setup with an AVR.. but I always thought that it was 8ohms and in order for me to use my JL I needed it to be 8ohms.. or at least have 2 subs to wire it to 8ohms or if 1 sub then it has to have a DVC?? Please let me know if my single voice coil 4 ohm JL W3v3 would work in the JBL box and amp?
You know what.. nvm.. I opened up the JBL sub and saw that the plate amp actually says 4 ohm speaker on it so it would be a perfect match. Question now is it worth my drilling new holes etc?? I mean.. my JL has just been sitting there collecting dust in my garage. Also would I have to run my Audyssey calibration again even if I'm not moving anything?
@@tomle2553 correct, the vast majority of home subwoofers use 4ohm drivers. As far as is it worth drilling holes, only you can decide. I don't personally use audessey so I can't really comment on that. If you like the sound of what you have sometimes it's better to leave it alone. But if you like to tinker with stuff and you already have the driver then tinker away, but if you're not into tinkering then it might just turn into a headache.
@@NemoPropagandainteresting.. I will definitely give this some thoughts! Thanks! Can you let me know what steps you took to make it fit? Other than drilling new holes.. did you use anything else to seal it? Also which screws did you use? The ones that came with the JBL?
@@tomle2553 I can't remember, I do have a garage full of tools, wood screws, and gasket material, but I don't remember if I had to use any of that or not.
Still can't decide on my next subwoofer purchase...do I go with dual JBL 550p for less than $400 or a single SB2000 (non pro)? I really like the tight and quick bass of sealed subs.
@@NemoPropaganda with an added $30 discount...I ended up ordering dual JBL 550p for only $349. I could pass that up. Worst case, they will go back. Free 30 day return policy. Looking forward to tight and clean bass over my current budget ported subs that sound too boomy for me.
No, pro audio needs different connections and generally a boost around 50hz or higher, you'll want something like this: www.sweetwater.com/store/detail/B1500XP--behringer-b1500xp-3000w-15-inch-powered-subwoofer and if that's too big they make smaller ones.
In MDF the wood fibres are finer ground before added to the adhesive that makes it a stiff board. Fibre board is a rougher less processed material. Likely less rigid.
MDF is denser, stronger, better. MDF is the defacto subwoofer box material. Drilling through MDF strains my screw gun and the screw gets a little warm. Drilling through fiber board can easily be done by hand :).
The speakers and amp I’m listening to this through cost me about 100 bucks. My “good” speakers are elac db5.2. A 200 dollar subwoofer review is reasonable. It’s nice to know what’s available to pair with my elacs as I don’t see myself spending the money on a rhythmik any time soon.
Wait for the sale and grab this bargain. A lot of people enjoy a cheaper system and something about spending more just doesn't feel right. That's how I am with food, I just can't bring myself to spend over $100 on a meal, no matter how good it taste I just can't seem to enjoy it.
Nothing wrong with a budget system! Especially if it brings the listener joy 😊 my budget system is an older Yamaha 5.1 system that was given to me. ive upgraded the front speakers to the Sony SSCS5's($89), my CD player is a Pioneer blu-ray with a Wolfson DAC in it, bought used for $60. And a Behringer 15 band equalizer used $70. I just bought this jbl Friday at $205. I love my setup.
Nemo, if you had $300 in your pocket, would you get this JBL for $200 or an Emotiva SE8? I am speaker from an SQ point of view. SP is not a priority for me.
@nemo propaganda thank you for this review and idea on upgrading the driver to a car sub driver. I got the JBL S550p on sale this weekend for $199 shipped. I did some research and ended up buying the 10" NVX VSW V2 dual 2 ohms (will run in series to 4 ohms), it has a 500w rms and 1000w peak, 20-200 hz frequency response, XMAX 11 mm, 87 db sensitivity (spl) not bad for an $87 driver shipped! Again, thank you for the idea! To add, I bought an SVS SB12-NSD sub a few years ago, really enjoying that sub. But this new "tweaked" JBL 550p has better specs on paper and a lot cheaper. Literally a banger for less than $300.
I got a pair of them on sale a while back. Just to add a little bottom end for TV and movies in the living room. I could nitpick them sure. For the price and what I was after with them. I really can't complain. A pair 300 watt RMS tens for $400 how can you.
You mention it wont play the intro to put it on by jeezy..... would the Rel tx7 play this intro as it also goes down to 27hz, so im thinking it wont? Cheers
@@NemoPropaganda how about the t9x? That is actually 27hz at -6db. Do you think this sub would play that intro? Im just curious because Rels dont seem to go that deep on the specs, bit they say its enough for music, but what if you listen to electronic music a lot.. ..there must be passages in music lower than 27hz? Thanks!
@@rog86 Yeah the 9X can do it, even the pair of 5x can do it but not with as much authority, REL subs seem to extend a bit lower than the spec indicates but if you're really worried about extension the easy answer is a Rythmik F12 or one of the big boy REL's like the S line. I listen to a lot of EDM too :).
@@NemoPropaganda cool cheers, im in the uk so rythmics really not available as easy. How long to go till you get your Arendals? Thats my other option..... 😄
Prices really went up since Aug, 7 2021. I'd like to try the 2 SW dilleo and the 550P's just might do the trick, but prices are all over the place from $416 to $450. Did everyone else raise prices comparatively?, and bite to bullet...or hard pass? IYO.
I have not directly compared the two but I think most people would be happier with the SVS PB-2000 Pro due to the superior customer service, bill of rights, cell phone app, etc...
@@Derrik7 oh yeah, ported sub has way more low end for movies than sealed sub. The SB3000 will play tighter but it won't have the low end rumble that 1 PB2000 has. 1 good vented sub is equal to 2 sealed subs in the lower frequencies.
Yes bro I have talked to many guys in India who can't find good options and I've been hunting for a long time now to find a good subwoofer for you guys! Even the last few reviews I asked the companies if they ship to India. We all need good bass :D

Hi, if i have 400/500 budget, what subwoofer would you recommend? JBL SUB 550P, SVS SB-1000 Pro Sealed, Airmotiv SE12 12" Flex Subwoofer, SVS PB-1000 300 Watt DSP Controlled 10" Ported Subwoofer? Thank you.
@@NemoPropaganda thank you for the response. İt would be mainly for movies. The one i have currently its too boomy and loud even in low volume that overwhelmes the dialog etc.
There is a big difference between a 12” vs 10” subdrivers physical size and area of the 12” has a lower cutoff frequency then a 10” driver regardless if the JBL pushes a 100w more RMS. I used to build Gold Sound Systems in the past. I had a while ago two Kicker 12” subwoofers that could actually push 12.5 cubic feet per speaker if you placed them in the right enclosure with thick MDF and ample bating. My point is that A well built 12” subwoofer will always out perform A well built 10” subwoofer anytime. You can’t have a bantam weight fight a middle weight in the ring with both being good respectively in there own division.
I'd read about some high failure rates about this subwoofer. I ignored them. JBL is a well-known company. But the one I received failed early. I contacted the company and they were not surprised. For the price they were selling it, I might have expected it to be B stock; and it just might have been. I returned it and bought something else.
I listen to the Buchardt S400 just as much but the S400 have so much bass of their own I can't use them for subwoofer reviews lol. But yeah I love the Aria 🥰 and with the Ares 2 Dac I'm using now the sound is really amazing, the DAC added some emotion that was a bit missing from the analytical presentation of the Aria.
@@NemoPropaganda Hey brother! Hope you are well! This will be mostly for music. I listen to music to relax/de-stress. When I was into car audio, I really preferred the sound of sealed enclosures because to me, ported enclosures were too loud and very difficult to tune to my ears' liking, almost always a one note wonder, with a huge roll off before and after tuned frequency point the particular box was tuned for. Sealed enclosures were, of corse, no where near as loud, but MUCH more musical. I'm looking for that here as well. The little sealed 8" Emotiva sub is my front runner currently. Thank you for taking the time and as always, your videos are EXCELLENT!!! You got the 'IT' factor.
My man, you already answered my question when responding to my comment on regarding the Velodyne video. I think the Emotiva SE8 is the way to go for me. Thank you again!!!!
I have two r12sw, on sale they were $150 each, I still use them even though I have better subs because I run on solar and the power they use is tiny for the bass you get. Boomy? Everything in my room is boomy my room itself is boomy acts like a speaker, rp8000 are boomy my studio 590 are boomy, I don't even use subs for music anyway, only when I want more and extra boomy for movies.
@@jimbob3030 Don't take it personally, basically every sub under $500ish has a pretty nasty hump in their frequency response, even the 550P. Watch "Budget 12-inch Subwoofer Shootout" by Erin's Audio Corner for more info. I really hate to say it. But I've got to shell out a ton more cash to get something like a rythmik 18 or maybe one of those new monoliths as they extend in a very linear way down to their F3. Of course, if you're happy, please don't be bothered by what I'm saying. Thanks and have a good holiday!
@@fieldcar I'm not totally happy with the cheap subs myself, just satisfied enough, they are a compromise. I also have a rel ht1205, way better sub, but I don't use it because it drains my house batteries. I could run four or five r12sw for the same power the REL draws. Using solar is the same reason I'm running jbl 590 and rp8000, they're a compromise to save power. I'd love some power hungry three ways, emotiva t2+ maybe, but just can't do it on limited solar power in oregon. I'm still trying to find a good class d surround receiver to reduce power even further, right now my hk avr from decades ago kills me on power consumption. 75w just to have it on and not making a sound.
Looks like $289 + $40 shipping :(, RSL is the better choice for sure. At The $189 though I don't think anything can beat this, it just has so much more headroom than anything in that price range.
I got 2 of them at $198 with a 4k Sony 7.2 receiver, JBL 2x580s, 4x530s and a 520c. It has to be the best bang for the buck. I got them all on sale for 2k total
FWIW everything added up DAC/Amp/Pre/Speakers/etc I have probably a ~$2500 system total not counting cables and stands and stuff. And it's about right for build and ability. Anything better I'd aim higher like an RSL Speedwoofer. Even JBL's own matching Studio 530 bookshelfs I'd consider a better sub but it would do well regardless.
There's some aberration in the Indian market for sure which i'm yet to figure out. Prices are crazy for certain HiFi brands who manufacture in China whereas for others, it isn't. Case in point - Marantz, Denon, Wharfedale, Mission, Q Acoustics, Quad and REL subwoofers (Ti range - i got my dual REL T9is for 999$ a pop) are cheaper in India than the US and at par with the UK. On the other hand, other UK brands who also manufacture in China such as KEF, Audiolab etc are priced higher. Go figure. The customs duty is the same for all these brands of course considering its the same country of origin.
@@eb2350 I think you'll be pretty happy bro, they can pound pretty hard for the money. The next upgrade from here would be something like the RSL 10s which would cost you $900 for a pair.
@@NemoPropaganda skar subwoofers are known to take more power specially on a sealed environment, so the 200w rms might be able to handle the 300w since its not like music that keeps pounding if used for home theater, it peaks at 300w, if not maybe warranty will kick in lol
@@NemoPropaganda the Dayton ultimax Dayton Audio UM10-22 10" Ultimax DVC Subwoofer 2 ohms Per Coil for $188 would be awesome with an FS of 26.9 and freq response starting at 25hz, im using a dayton um 18in on a gsg design box and its a monster
As always, good review! Im currently running an XTZ 12.17 EDGE in a 2ch music system in a dedicated room, and happy about its performances. It would be interesting getting your insights on this product. Keep up the great work👍
both are goo, the JBL is built better and just more robust overall while the Jamo has more of a modern look. As far as the sound goes the Jamo is more linear while the JBL has just a little bit of a bump in the midbass region. I think at $200 anybody would be happy with either of these. My advice is pick the one you think looks the best in your home.
@@maand0 I'd take the JBL. Cheap ported subs usually have a high tuning frequency which can make them sound a bit odd to my ears and stick out like a sore thumb.

Here are a few setups I've done: -upgraded the factory sub using an AudioFrog 8" driver and external Morel Amplifier. Huge upgrade from OEM but not enough low end for me. -Memphis Mojo 12" in a ported box driven by a Diamond Audio 1500.1 amplifier. absolutely loved it but it was taking up too much space. -12" Audio Mobile driver in a sealed box powered by a Morel MPS 550.1 amp. Bass is good, I have more trunk space but it's not the quickest bass, the previous setup was actually tighter and extended lower. The hunt continues lol

@@IrenESorius ahahahaha, thanks Irene, I think just 1 will be okay though :D
So you mentioned the Emotiva SE12. I have a few more expensive ones I’m looking at but I can’t get two for under $500 for pretty much anything decent.
At $189 for this and $269 for the SE12, which would you buy a pair of? Question is for anyone.
SE12 is gonna go a little lower so I'd go for that.
$150 right now. Discount applies at checkout 😮
I got mine! Can't unpack my system at the moment but I know this JBL is going to sound great for my music.
I absolutely love what you compare everything to. Absolutely the perfect benchmarks that we can all, mostly understand. But(t)....
Thank's Tyler, that's the goal :)
Hmmm seeing this model in first time. Is it better that JBL SLR 310s?
Sorry I don't know :(
I am currently using a pair of JBL Studio 530s on my desk paired with two JBL SUB 550Ps. Because why not.
Thx
The 550p is probably the loudest sub you can get for $200 ish so I'd say yeah it should be enough considering the price.
@@tomle2553 I can't remember, I do have a garage full of tools, wood screws, and gasket material, but I don't remember if I had to use any of that or not.
would better sound dampening inside be worth the investment?
its cheap & easy enough its worth trying for sure!
Still can't decide on my next subwoofer purchase...do I go with dual JBL 550p for less than $400 or a single SB2000 (non pro)? I really like the tight and quick bass of sealed subs.
I'd rather have 1 nicer sub versus 2 cheaper ones personally but other people may disagree.
@@NemoPropaganda with an added $30 discount...I ended up ordering dual JBL 550p for only $349. I could pass that up. Worst case, they will go back. Free 30 day return policy. Looking forward to tight and clean bass over my current budget ported subs that sound too boomy for me.
@@pet1700 what was the discount from? I think I can use Rakuten to get a few bucks back but I’m looking for any extra savings I can find.
Would the output be sufficient for a mobile DJ? Typically 50-100 people events
No, pro audio needs different connections and generally a boost around 50hz or higher, you'll want something like this: www.sweetwater.com/store/detail/B1500XP--behringer-b1500xp-3000w-15-inch-powered-subwoofer and if that's too big they make smaller ones.
What's the difference between this fiberboard and MDF(medium density fiberboard)?
This is an amazing time for audio, because we can get really good sound for reasonable money.
Is the difference between this and the SVS PB-1000 pro significant enough for $200 more?
yes
Nemo, if you had $300 in your pocket, would you get this JBL for $200 or an Emotiva SE8? I am speaker from an SQ point of view. SP is not a priority for me.
Emotiva SE8 for sure bro.
Try it the way it comes before modding it, just my .02. The NSD is a 12” so that should be interesting. Lmk how it turns out…
I got a pair of them on sale a while back.
Cheers
Not sure, I have not heard the T7X.
Thanks!
@@rog86 Yeah the 9X can do it, even the pair of 5x can do it but not with as much authority, REL subs seem to extend a bit lower than the spec indicates but if you're really worried about extension the easy answer is a Rythmik F12 or one of the big boy REL's like the S line. i don't see why not, a little fuller sound is always nice :) My whole channel is about subwoofers for 2ch music so maybe I'm biased...
Does this sub suffer from fm frequency static like Klipsch subs do?
I don't understand the question but I live in a dense community and did not hear any static if that helps.
What is the best subwoofer for movies? SVS PB-2000 Pro or Monolith 12in?
I have not directly compared the two but I think most people would be happier with the SVS PB-2000 Pro due to the superior customer service, bill of rights, cell phone app, etc...
@@NemoPropaganda oh ok. Thanks for the response. I looked at both the Sb 3000 and Pb 2000 pro. Do you think the pb 2000 pro is better for movies?
@@Derrik7 oh yeah, ported sub has way more low end for movies than sealed sub. The SB3000 will play tighter but it won't have the low end rumble that 1 PB2000 has. 1 good vented sub is equal to 2 sealed subs in the lower frequencies.

I'm not sure what part of the video you're responding to but yes I'm aware that a larger driver in a larger enclosure will play lower and louder.
Super helpful Review !!
How does this compare to the JBL Professional LSR310S?
I have not heard that one.
I'd read about some high failure rates about this subwoofer. I ignored them. JBL is a well-known company. But the one I received failed early. I contacted the company and they were not surprised. For the price they were selling it, I might have expected it to be B stock; and it just might have been. I returned it and bought something else.
it's a cheap sub, it has a warranty though.
Still sporting the Focals 🤘🤘🤘👏👏👏
Still loving them? 😎
I listen to the Buchardt S400 just as much but the S400 have so much bass of their own I can't use them for subwoofer reviews lol. Hey R, depends, is this for theater or music?

This compared to a klipsch r-12sw? Considering getting a dual sub setup of either one, both fairly budget friendly
I have not heard the klipsch but i would guess this has more and cleaner output.
Super late reply here, but the R12SW is boomy compared to my 550P's. I use the klipsch in a soundbar setup instead of my main system.

@@NemoPropaganda i see.. Thanks for the detailed explanation. German machines really do have good speakers, for a normal person they are enough but for we bass heads you gotta play with it down low
@@eyeshezzy exactly!
That Indian Flag 🤩😍🤩
At 6 min you just kick ehhhemmmm velodyne in the genitals again you’re ruthless
I did? I didn't even mention wharfdale though 😶
I can't wait to put this thing in a small room 🤣
looks like they're almost $400 now, better to go for the RSL speedwoofer at that price.
@@NemoPropaganda that or I could just make a setup with skar audio
@@dallenishere7783 mmm I don't like Skar subs, I tried their ZVX8 and it was really hard to drive and had a ton of motor noise. Granted I was comparing it to the more expensive Memphis Mojo 8" which is my favorite 8 inch sub for car audio.
@@NemoPropaganda I only want one for my room not when driving
Nemo "SUB" Propaganda - Nice to see the occasional value for the $$$ out there in the wild. I'm guessing it doesn't stay at $198 for very long periods though. Harman must have caught wind they were getting some free exposure.
Yeah, happens a few times a year though and it's worth being patient for if you're low on shillings :D
HOW DO YOU KNOW IT IS 27KZ -3dB?
ALL SPECS COME FROM THE MANUFACTURER AND ON BUDGET GEAR ITS SAFE TO ASSUME IT'S SLIGHTLY EXAGGERATED. BY EAR IN MY ROOM IT FALLS OFF A CLIFF AFTER 30HZ, NOT BAD FOR THE MONEY THOUGH.
THEY DONT SAY SAY ANYTHING ABOUT _3DB! @@NemoPropaganda
Already off sale......😦
It was on sale like 3 months ago. I’ve had it for a bit.
I just ordered one from jbl website for 199 shipped
@@funkfist1337 thank you for sharing, I will make a community post about this!!
@@funkfist1337 good looking out! I just ordered one. Thanks!
Just noticed you've reviewed a jbl sub
yeah, I was curious about it.
All this is is a giant rave about the what a CRAZY good deal this is.
I'm sorry my free service wasn't goon enough for you.
I bought and since returned two of these, super weak subs.
Show me a better one for the $340 price tag or $200 sale price.
@@NemoPropaganda Bic sub is better, polks cheapy sounds better with more output, klipsch 12 from costco sounds better etc.
@@sturdyvw I'm not sure I would agree with that, I've heard that cheap polk you're talking about (PSW10) and it's one of the sloppiest sounding subs I've ever heard and only has 100w and distorts when pushed while this JBL has 300w and plays clean even at louder volumes.
Soooo...it's a good 3rd world budget subwoofer 😂😂😂😂
@@NemoPropaganda then they should consider the Dayton Sub-1200 for $180. Wirecutter did a group listening test and picked it as best budget sub. Or the $99 12" monoprice sub that Erin's audio corner tested against several other budget subs. If u keep an eye on slickdeals, several "good" budget 12" subs from klipsch, Infinity, etc regularly go on sale for around $150-$200. There's no way I'd recommend this JBL for $350 normal price when $50 can get you a waaaaaay better sub.
@@NemoPropaganda For $360 I'd suggest someone get 2 Dayton Sub-1200's and place them across the room from one another. They'll get much smoother bass versus this 1 JBL sub. There's going to be serious peaks and dips with one sub. They'll also get a small bump in overall output from 2 subs even if not colocated.
@@jimbanvilleThat's not what I would do but it's always cool to have options. Personally I've always been the kind of person who prefers to own 1 better product opposed to 2 less capable products.
@@NemoPropaganda I agree with the concept of 1 better product over 2 lesser products when 1 product would suffice, but I'd say 2 subs is essential for bass evenness. You can ride a 1 wheeled unicycle, but I'd say most would prefer a balanced 2 wheeled bicycle. Have you done a comparison of the jbl vs the sub-1200?
