The lock was okay for a while. Eventually, I got the lock repaired by a locksmith.

The Locksmith repaired the Lock cylinder. The cylinder mechanism was getting stuck periodically.

Never use multi-purpose WD40 on locks! Use Teflon-based WD-40 Specialist PTFE Lubricant instead!
it will take many years for the dirt to accumulate to cause problems - the vehicle will be long gone by then
