As a hobby jogger myself that has limited funds to spend on running shoes, I appreciate your reviews. Especially on the expensive shoes because a part of me feels fomo over being the only 1 not able to experience how amazing the SB2, alphafly etc are. Seing how satisfied you were with the Adidas sl2 and how fast you ran on the saucony endorphin elite makes me realise what works for them may not work for me so not having the same shoes as everyone else doesn't mean I'm missing out on anything. Thanks for the honest review. Its so easy jump in the band wagon to maybe get more people to like you etc but you stood on business.
Doctors of running recently did a podcast about the fact that everyones body is different and how some of the reviewers LOVE a shoe and other Docs of running reviewer will absolutely hate it and think they are crazy. Just highlights the importance of trying a shoe first or at least have a grace periord to return em.
Part of the Superblast Cabal 😅 here. I’m overweight (previously obese) newbie runner who runs super slow and is now weighing 180 lbs (previously from 200+ lbs). My fast and slow paces are super slow relative to the regular “garden variety” UA-cam runinfluencers and I’m enjoying the SB1. My SB2 is still on its way, hopefully I will not hate it as much as you. All chill man, running shoes are as subjective as the perfumes or ice cream flavors.
I’m still obese but getting healthier. I tent to find that because of my weight certain shoes just don’t work well for me. Once the SB2 is available near me, I’m going to give it a try.
Appreciate all the feedback from Yowana and fellow hobby joggers regarding the SB2, but I f**kin love this shoe! 150 mi logged on my paris and want another pair to beat up! Also, those are "purple drank" Superblast 2s🤣
These shoes are awesome! For anyone intimidated by the $200 price tag, if you are a medical professional they offer a 25% discount once you verify your credentials. Makes these about the same price as Nike Pegasus or HOKA clifton daily trainers! All I had to do was send them a picture of my work ID badge. Hope this helps a fellow hobby jogger!
I'm so glad you're willing to speak honestly about these shoes. Especially the ones that have a huge hype. I bought a pair of the SB2's and I really don't enjoy them. They feel heavy, clunky, and awkward. That's why there are so many options out there, not every shoe is made for everybody. I've run about 80km in mine and they are going up for second hand sale.
Sets a PR and is back on the horse, an this man knows his rap/hip hop! Told my good college buddy (ex new balance) now puma guy about you, hopefully it leads to more Puma kicks your way!
right on.......running is not about numbers, not about pace or distance .....running is about joy in our hearts, peace of our minds, connection to nature and gratitude for our lifes .....the really good shoes make a supporting contribution to all that, when we run that is all there is to it different people need different shoes i just came home from my morning outing, kind of a sad day, after the run i retired my first ever Hoka, my beloved Hoka Huaka. I will clean it and put it in my glass vitrine to keep it and smile in the afternoon a new chapter will start, i got to my closet took out some familiar looking shoes, bang Hoka Huaka, new, different color, same smile when i put them on ........looking forward to my afternoon run.....smile baby smile
As a 106 kg heavy runner, Superblast 1 allows me to run longer distances - like 18 km last sunday, i even did not think it was possible. And my legs didnt hurt, felt great. When i run for example 6km in Endorphine Speed 4, my legs hurt next day, so it is tempting to me use Superblast for every run.
I just got a pair a couple of weeks ago. My first impression running in the Superblast 2 was confusion. They felt ginormous yet light somehow. They felt hard, clunky and cushioned giving a simultaneously shock-transmitting (energy return, I guess) and shock-absorbing feel. They are loud! I call them my juggernauts. I got into a good faster pace in them during my last long run. I was very pleased by how fresh I felt at that pace until I pulled my hamstring - which I am now recovering from.
Thank you for keeping it real. I tried the Superblast 2 in a shoe run trial and it felt sluggish and dead. Yes, it is light on paper but the oversize built makes swinging my legs a chore, costing more energy. When I wanted to run faster, I need to put in a lot more force on the foam, where's all the hype on the FF Blast+ bounce? Did not feel any. Lastly, the shoe is design quite flat/ only slightly rockered, making the heel-toe transition slower, hence I saw most user just slapping their SB2 to the ground rather than rolling it. Till today, I browsed a lot of reviewer's video, wondering maybe my review was wrong or I miss out something, but your honest opinion proved otherwise! 👍
As a 3:50 marathoner, the superblast 2s allowed me to feel faster on my longruns. So in place of carbons (which I'm not ready for yet) and super soft shoes these felt awesome.
Im a heavier and slower runner at 215lbs and bought a pair of superblast 2’s because of the hype. I have to say I feel the same way. I notice my daily runs are a little bit faster but the experience is just blah. I feel like I’m fighting with the shoe to get comfortable in the runs and end up just going back to my hoka skyflows which I have about 120 miles on now and love. I was considering getting the Hoka Mach x 2 but my local store didn’t have it but had the superblast 2 in and now I wish I kind of waited.
Man!! After 50 miles the shoe feels different the midsole stops being as firm as perceived below 50 miles, give it more miles and give it the real chance after the miles I tell you is a good faith advice
Weather in the UK is perfect for running though! Forever mild and rain doesn't hurt that much either like it does in some other parts of the world e.g. Malaysia, etc
Another Hobby Jogger here to confirm that after 160+ miles on the SB2, they are still just okay. I am slightly heavier, at 170lbs, so I do get some foam compression, but overall it is a stiff, boring ride. I do enjoy it for slightly more uptempo long runs, but at $200, I wouldn't buy it again. I think everyone secretly agrees with you. but are too ashamed of their wasted $$$.
I think the reality is, what works for one won’t always work for another. This shoe works great for many but like any other shoe, it won’t work for everyone.
'My legs feel better than my head' is what I wish I thought everytime I don't go for a run thinking I'm too tired. That might just be a game changer for me! Thanks YOWANA 👍🏼
I was drawn into all the media hype! I went from a Novablast 3 to an SB4 and was so excited to try after 400 miles on the NB3 which I loved! Just can’t connect with the SB2! Been doing training cycles in them and did PB half marathon but it honestly felt like having diving fins on my feet! As I paid so much for them I will persist but always looking for the next alternative and don’t rate them, and I’m an absolute ASICS fanboy!
I PR'd my marathon last Sunday in the SB2. I can't stand carbon shoes, and the Superblast was perfect. Been running for about 8 years, been through a lot of shoes in that time, and it's my favourite shoe all time.
Superblast 1 was disappointing because they did not fit me well and I did not run long enough to "break them in". So I sold them. Superblast 2, I am convinced they aren't the most versatile shoes either. If you run in them you have to have at least a pair of performance trainers or easy run shoes too. Puma Magmax, they are everything superblast is supposed to be except the weight.
I had 2 Superblasts and ran a maximum of 150 miles and my opinion as a runner is the following, it's everything they say, even though the shoes have great response, at the beginning the sole is hard and after a few miles it gets soft! However, it didn't work for me, I got lots of blisters on my big toe after 8 miles, always the same thing, I ended up returning them, it's part of the game because shoes are very personal and each person feels something different!!
Your description of Superblast seems accurate to me. The problems you identify don't bother me as much, plus they do lessen after the shoe is broken in; it does take an unusually long time to break in. I'm not itching to get SB2, but it's also not on my "do not buy" list. I am also a heavier and slower runner than you:: 6'2", 185, 8:30 marathon pace, 7:00 5K pace. Currently at 624 miles on SB1.
Both myself and my running partner ran in SB2s this morning. She has the SB2 slap and I do not - so in my wholly anecdotal and small sample size study do think this is a shoe where your ride is heavily influenced by your running mechanics. Which I think just reiterates the point that all shoes don’t work for everyone.
The Hyperion max is way better in my opinion, for wanting to push the pace a bit. My Superblast got about 50 miles on ( painful miles) that shoe just don’t feel exciting to me
The Superblast 2's got you bringing out that comedic A-game! The prayer had me rolling lol 😂 I think you are on to something with the race foam not working for you. I am a mid-forefoot striker with a high cadence (190-220 spm), and have enjoyed the experience of both Superblasts and the Edge Paris. The Superblast is definitely firm and protective as you noted, but with my running mechanics it also translates into a smoothly rockered, consistent, and efficient ride. Sorry to hear the SB2 didn't work for you! Appreciate the honesty though, and you putting in the work regardless 🙏
I haven’t tried many different shoes outside of the ASICS line but I can say I love my novablasts but the super blasts are just a little more fun and light!
I've never had an actual running shoe until I bought SB V1. I put them on and they felt amazing. (I am also not a runner). I have since because one and have been running a lot. At about 70 miles I noticed the shoes really changed. There's so much bounce in the forefoot/midfoot. I've ran in boston 12s and inv run 3s and nothing is close to the SB. Invincible run 3s are good tho and I really like them. Absolutely hate boston 12s! I hope you give this a chance and get them up to 70 ish miles before you "trash" em. But if you still don't like them then, I totally get it. Thanks for your honest feedback!
Early reaction...I think it's the cold weather that changes everything. I know for me because I am older, the pains take longer to go away until after I am warmed up. And thankyou for the SUV analogy, love it!
All you felt and telling us about the SB2 I had with the Nova Blast 4 ! It was awkward runs until I reached almost 100 miles ! Until that the score I gave to my pair was 7.5/10. it was lightweight, but I felt more fun and faster running on others daily trainers such as the Velocity Nitro 3, Wave Rider 27 orb the lighter weight Gel-Cumulus 26. I tough I was the OC that was the only one that was not initially impressed by the NB4. Anyways ,I ended buying the SB2 and only did one run, one long fast run with them. It was one of my best first run experiences ever had. From the amazing lockdown of the excellent upper and laces to the bounce ,stability, fun and very good transition from heel to toe ( this was 4 out of 10 initially with the NB4). And I felt the middlesole softer compared to the NB4 ( before 100 miles) . Great video !
I loved SB1 and hoped SB2 would be the same. I started getting hip pain after about 50km which put a huge wrench in my marathon training. Off to physio this week to work on strengthening. Anyways, I am beginning to wonder about the long-term effects of using shoes like this. I used to have knee and ankle pain from other shoes (Brooks Ghost and Asics Gel Kayano). I thought SB's were my grail shoe, now I'm not so sure.
The is what the Saucony shift could have been..it only needed a few tweeks to the breathability and the weight to be what the superblast wants to be..great honest review..😊
Who cares what people say. I can’t tell you over the years how many incredibly high rated shoes just didn’t do it for me. This is why a lot of us buy and run in everything because you can only get slight impressions of the actual shoe. I do love my SB2’s though. Just got my second pair yesterday with only 80 miles on the first (both pink babay). I love it for long runs with a steady pace. I definitely have a hard time picking up the pace with interval repeats. I like the firmness because I bottom out after mile 5 in a lot of shoes and that firmness feels pretty protective. This shoe locks me in at an 8 minute mile and has such a wide, stable, landing. I really like it. I’m a 3:30 marathon runner. It makes sense to me that you don’t like this shoe.
Absolutely agree with you on SB2! Had to return them. I went on 3 runs and felt the same - always felt my foot was not landing the right way, they’re loud, I never felt like I was running “light” on my feet. I wanted to love them with all of the endless hype and reviews I saw on UA-cam raining praise on them.
Hahaha, I really enjoyed your rant! :) I would have said the excact same about the Nimbus 26. Extremely loud slapping, hard outsole, super weird, etc. Only difference: Nimbus 26 is soft and energy sapping right under the foot. I like my Superblast OG btw, but this just shows that shoes who feel good for some, may not feel good for others. The colour of this SB2 is banging btw! :)
I got into running this year and went through Peg 39s, Cloudsurfers, Puma DN2, Rebel v3 before managing to get a pair of SB2s. I'm 5'9 - 160 lbs - US 8D men's with healthy arches. I'm really surprised the shoe isn't working for you as your reviews have been pretty spot on for me. DN2s were a great fast daily (returned them due to left foot only black toe/blisters... dam shame as it was a great speed shoe) and the Rebel v3 was one of the best daily shoes for the price (60% off MSRP). I've tried most of the other reviewed shoes on in store and I am just patiently waiting for a sale. I'm not a fast runner. My recovery pace is 6 min/km, working pace at 5 - 5:20 min/km, 5K PB is 4:30 min/km. The SB2 is only slappy for me at 5:40+ min/km. It's a pretty good cue for pacing my long runs. The shoe disappears under my feet when I run any faster. I've been training for my first marathon since July (Higdon Novice 2) and the SB2 has carried me through 240 miles. My first run with the SB2 was also my first 13 mile run (2:15 time). I think someone may have returned it with light wear so it's possible it was already broken in for me. The previous week I ran a 12 mile in the Rebel v3 (2:25 time). I definitely felt the energy return in my core and hips. My calves felt amazing in contrast to my Rebel 12 mile. I had to work on my running form as I used to really throw out the heel on my strides. I've improved my cadence a lot and I land on the front of my heel ball / arches nowadays. For the SB2, I don't land anywhere on the back heel curve - pretty much on the line where the colours start to transition on my Paris model. As I roll through, I get a strong midfoot pushoff into the forefoot liftoff. I think the magic for me is in that midfoot pushoff. It reminds me of a sprinter pushoff platform albeit less aggressive. The heel stack does not squish & bounce like with Rebels/NB4/Cloudsurfers, it's firm and stays high. Maybe a weighted vest + aggressive forward lean might help you get the same experience with the shoe? In contrast to my DN2s, I constantly felt it pushing my heel up/forward and I could never really enjoy it as an easy daily like the Rebel. I'll probably try the Mach X2 for my next long run block if I can't get a nicer SB2 color.
V1 also for me was felt firm and unpleasant. You feel a high slab of foam, but wonder why they put so many when it's mostly dead. Glad that you're review answered my question: is V2 improved. It seems not.
First, shout out to your neighbor that is having some health problems. I always respect people who go out and do what they can, regardless of their limitations. Second, I've been wearing the Superblast 1 as a nursing shoe for about a month and it's quite comfortable for standing on hard floors for 12 hours. However, it's still firm and, when I walk, I feel that disjointed double-hit on the ground. Perhaps, if they made the geometry more like the Nimbus or Glideride, it would mitigate some of the harshness of the FF Turbo+, similar to the Hyperion Max v1. Finally, Elvis is still the king. ;)
Just ran my first marathon in this after not getting as many miles in them prior as I wanted too. Ended up with crazy mid outside foot pain that forced me to walk/run the last 10 km . I do have a wide food and land on the outside and roll in. Was so pumped to run in this shoe too
Funny, yet informative video as well. How would you compare these to the Topo Specter 2? I have not run in SuperBlast 2, but I did run in the Specter 2 and they’re or feel super firm, but at least I don’t feel like I’m running in a platform shoe. I did try Novablast 4 and hated them. I felt like you’re describing these
Hey man! Great review. Love that you always keep it real. I am thinking about getting the Glycerin Max for my long run shoe based on your review videos on those. How would you compare the Glycerin Max to the SB 2?
I have both. Glycerin max is a slow cruiser/recovery shoe. SB2 is more versatile and can go fast if needed or also go slow in it. Not a lot of ground feel and both are comfortable. For me the SB2 feels great, like I'm on autopilot not thinking about my feet when I'm going around 7-730 minute miles which is a good pace for me. SB2 is what I reach for more often
also have both, greatly prefer sb2 for everything other than walking - foam on glycerin is nice though, just upper sucks and geometry is off (hot spots, blisters for me)
Spot on regarding the on foot feel, I have been having the same thoughts. I am not really looking forward to running in Superblast (1) but I know it gives me fast splits, it is stable and protective. I have also got MagMax based on your reviews and while I feel it might not be stable enough for me for longer runs it is so much fun! In Superblasts you feel like running on the shoe and not shoe becoming an extension of the legs.
I have about 90 miles on my SB2's and I really enjoy them. It is my first pair of SB's and I have just really enjoyed them. I mainly use them for runs over 6 miles or so and they just really work for me. I like stiff shoes and dislike very soft shoes. Maybe thats part of it. Different strokes for different folks!
I think you're putting too much pressure on yourself based on the opinions of others. These shoes all feel slightly different based on stride, weight, preference, etc... I've tried most of the popular shoes out there and love soft and squishy, but I also crave a slightly firmer ride to mix it up, which this provides. If you don't like it for you, it's all good, man! The Superblast is more similar to adidas Boston and Pro3 than it is to New Balance.
Respect your opinion, different strokes for different folks. I, personally, love the SB2 and wish I ended up wearing them in Chicago instead of the Endorphin Pro 4. Congrats on your mega PR!
I got a pair last week and I’m liking them so far. Mostly, I’ve noticed that my cadence is up in these shoes (which is something I’ve been trying to work on). They are super loud though 😂 But it’s convenient because I don’t need to say “excuse me” when I’m coming up behind someone on a sidewalk since they hear me clomping down the pavement from a mile away.
Finally released a black/grey colorway in these and about to take them for an initial long run. I weigh 140 lbs. and don’t like overly soft shoes for long runs. I like these responsive foams and I’m in the camp that Litestrike Pro is one of the best super foams out there. I vibed with the SB1 and looking forward to this run in the SB 2!
I really hate the loud slappy noise they make. I feel everytime I run in superblast 2 it's like slapping bricks to the ground. I really like the foam but the shoes feel heavier due to slappiness. I'm not sure why, perhaps because of the rubber outsole? I have an old pair of Asics Fuji Lite 2s with Asicsgrip, very grippy, but they're way quiter than Superblast 2s. I'm s smaller runner, only 110 lbs.
I think these are pretty firm shoes. I even have that thought and I’m about 175 and run quite aggressively. I can’t imagine them feeling very good at that weight. They are definitely loud.
They shoes feel much better on gravel trail, no slappy issue, so much more comfortable. I think there's weird interaction between the shoes and the asphalt surface. I've only have the shoes for a week, just logged 90km and I think the slappiness does decrease. So these indeed require some break in period.
I wonder if they would work for me. I'm just under 200lbs (down from 237). I'm short, fat, old and slow (5'7 198lbs and a 29" inseam with a stride length about a meter) I put a lot of pressure down on shoes, but in a completely different way than you do. I'm putting in that work though, dropping pounds and getting that fitness back, at nearly 46 years old it's tough. I might have to try this one, as I'm sure I would compress it enough to feel the benefit. Hats off to you lightweight, tall, fast guys. However, this might be a good option for someone like me on the struggle bus.
I have the same exact experience with it. It’s a little slappy and dead. Almost like it wasn’t made for running. Even the toe box seems high or something. Like my toes are looking for something to hold on to. Not for me.
Classic, "Im going to try not be negative" 15 seconds later, "this is not comfortable" "I wouldn't recommend it for most people" 😂. You should save them for when you start hitting the weights again, stacking on the pounds; Im 6'1, 220 and I find them quite soft and bouncy, the only pace I find hard is really slow, which would almost be a walk for you. I also find the Puma Nitro Fast R2 soft and bouncy and that was another one you found really firm and hard to get the foam to turn on.
I'm barely getting back into running for various reasons but the main one wanting to be in shape. I'm a shorter guy at 5'9" but heavy for my height at roughly 185 lbs. I recently got the NB FF Balos and couldn't be happier with them but after a bit of research apparently there are durability issues and I'd gladly just pick up another pair however where I live they are hard to find. This led me to pickup an Asics SB 2 after having watched so many glowing reviews, I actually couldn't find any online and happened to find a pair at a local running store that had just gotten them in and FOMO kicked in cause trying them on in-store they were not bad but there was no wow factor but I got them anyway. Just a few miles in but they were actually uncomfortable towards the back of my foot, almost painful even. Well I'm in the EU and we have shitty return policies here so I'm just gonna have to suck it up and hope they "break-in" as others have said to be the case. Also hoping I've been running wrong in them, worse case scenario they become my walking shoes
If you want something close to the Balos, checkout the new balance 1080v13 or v14. I put 300 miles on a pair of the v13 so it's very durable and one of the best comfortable cushioned shoes - you can find on sale since it's last year's version. The v14 is the updated version and also great. I actually preferred it to the balos
I am not going to cape up for a shoe, at all. Do I like the super blast 2 ? Yes, but I am 205 pounds. I also like the ghost max 2, triumph 20.., and the cloud eclipse. Great stuff Yowana.
For those of you who are into jazz, I get the feeling that the SB2 is like the Coltrane's Giant Steps of running -- you have to say you can play it to be taken seriously in certain circles. It seems to me that while it may be the best shoe possible for certain runners, probably 90%+ of the people running in it and glazing it on the running forums would be better served by something like the NB4.
This all said, I'm here to eat my words 😂 Went into a local running store just to look and try on shoes, no intention to buy. Saw it on the wall and had them bring it out. Put it on and it was like it just... grabbed me or something. 10 seconds jogging back and forth in the store and I was sold! I don't need this shoe. I'm on restriction right now because of a medical condition, and have shoes that will cover any sort of run I'm likely to do once I can start running again. But something about the shoe just felt so right. Lesson learned: don't come to too strong of an opinion on a shoe based on anyone else's opinion. You can never have anything like a well-informed opinion on a shoe until you've had it on foot, and even then you can't really know until you've run in it for some time. I knew this, I think we've all had the experience of changing our feelings about a shoe for better or worse after running in it, but it's a lesson I guess I needed to have reinforced.
I kinda thankful for your video putting off my thirst on superblast, now I just hope for the Adizero Evo SL to come out good as expected *side note: I hope the SB cabal doesn't get you cancelled 😅
just thought about the remark you made about Elton John.......i don`t know anything about rap music, but in my opinion, Elton John might have had a very sucessful career, i take artists like Townes van Zandt, John Prine or Lucinda Williams any time, if we put the singing quality into the equation Emmylou Harris and Linda Ronstadt are on top of my list, can`t say the same for Taylor Swift came back from my afternoon run.....an unused 9 year old Hoka Huaka with all the flaws the shoe has is just a dream for my feet and my soul. Sometimes the imperfect nearly forgotten and sadly discontinued shoes are the real gems ......ooooooh putting a plate with food on a vinyl-record-player.....not on mine
After the miles I have in the shoe there is a nice bounce in the mid to fore foot land and a soft feeling in heel, it’s more of a pick your preference and just auto pilot
Im with yowana on this. Everytime I’ve run in the SB and the SB2 it’s felt awkward and clunky. I’m putting it down to the geometry combined with the firmness of the midsole which doesn’t gel with my gait. It’s an 8mm drop which really feels like an 8mm drop or more. Often 8mm drop can feel lower if the foam is softer
Feel the same about this shoe.170 miles in and it doesn't jive with me. Sloppy fitting upper, slappy ride, clunky heel, drop feels higher than 8mm for some reason, ane still somehow feels like i bottom out the right forefoot. I think I've decided i need more lightstrike pro in my life...
I think the most enjoyable thing is seeing how difficult it is for you to not like these 😂 Like why are people struggling with the fact that not all shoes are for everyone and that's ok? I went ahead and bought a pair anyway and I love them but I'm not gonna get up in arms that you hate them. I also got them for $150 directly from Asics so that makes it a muuuch better deal
I find the SB2’s have a really sharp/slappy transition from heel to midfoot. As a midfoot striker they work great for me but I can’t imagine it being any fun for heel strikers. I really dislike walking in them because of that slappy rear foot transition.
I tried these shoes myself , I bought them 3 times and ended up returning them to the store cuz they are not that comfortable for me.I had a bad heel pronation and so I ended up with saucony hurricane 24
Got that colour, on the ultra too common size of 9.5us.. boy am glad i got them, and its not just the bragging rights for successfully beating someone else to it. Such a perfect companion to raceday shoes, i hope they come out with at least one more new colour way befor v3 ( not only do i hate this punch in the face colour, but ive made a decision to run in these and the metaspeeds exclusively, and get at least two pairs of each... no more shoe juggling for me, im over it) Shame they didnt include the cool looking pull tab in the tongue, as with the paris version.. either way, i do wonder, how are they gonna top this in v3? Hope they dont fk around with it
I had the same issue with the Novablast 4 similar geometry to the Superblast 2 it basically forced me to hill strike when I land mid foot causing the same slapping of my forefoot.
I used to heel strike. I got this shoe and it didnt work at first. I changed how I run, now striking mid or forefoot and it works very well and substantially increased my speed to around 4:30/km from around 5:30-6
Guys is this a good shoe to have aside from my more v5? Morev5 is so comfy but i’m looking for another one just to have a rotation. I have a streakfly but it hurts my feet so i’m benching it.

ASIC SuperBlast 2 🎉 just like the SuperBlast it’s such a great running shoe!!
right on.......running is not about numbers, not about pace or distance
.....running is about joy in our hearts, peace of our minds, connection to nature and gratitude for our lifes
.....the really good shoes make a supporting contribution to all that, when we run
that is all there is to it different people need different shoes
i just came home from my morning outing, kind of a sad day, after the run i retired my first ever Hoka, my beloved Hoka Huaka. I will clean it and put it in my glass vitrine to keep it and smile
in the afternoon a new chapter will start, i got to my closet took out some familiar looking shoes, bang Hoka Huaka, new, different color, same smile when i put them on
........looking forward to my afternoon run.....smile baby smile
As a 106 kg heavy runner, Superblast 1 allows me to run longer distances - like 18 km last sunday, i even did not think it was possible. And my legs didnt hurt, felt great.
When i run for example 6km in Endorphine Speed 4, my legs hurt next day, so it is tempting to me use Superblast for every run.
thankyou for the review
Your SB2 may be sealed by mysterious power and the legend has it that still more miles should be sacrifised to please the god of Superblast 2.
How is a 3:50 marathoner not ready for carbon shoes, that makes no sense
@AndyNick211 because I’m not pushing the pace on my long runs yet. Still working on building endurance to add some work to my long runs.
@AndyNick211 I wore carbons on race day to clarify
You should be occasionally pushing the pace on workouts, helps you improve faster
Don't worry, you only gotta put in 800km to really break it in, but after that feels like butter lol
😂 can't believe how many times I've read something like this
I really wish I will like to do long run with them after 400km
Great to know, that it'll actually feel better.. can't wait to get there. Am only 20 mi in
350k in still can’t feel anything good 😂
@@paolosante you’re almost halfway there lol
Im a heavier and slower runner at 215lbs and bought a pair of superblast 2’s because of the hype. I have to say I feel the same way. I notice my daily runs are a little bit faster but the experience is just blah. I feel like I’m fighting with the shoe to get comfortable in the runs and end up just going back to my hoka skyflows which I have about 120 miles on now and love. I was considering getting the Hoka Mach x 2 but my local store didn’t have it but had the superblast 2 in and now I wish I kind of waited.
thankyou, so i dont need to buy those
Wish I had seen your videos on the shoe before I bought it. Had the exact same feelings about the sb2 clunky firm and unenjoyable. Ended up returning.
Man!! After 50 miles the shoe feels different the midsole stops being as firm as perceived below 50 miles, give it more miles and give it the real chance after the miles I tell you is a good faith advice
I'm so jealous of those American roads and the scenery. Running on the road in the UK sucksssss.
I wouldn't trade my ability to get everywhere by foot for the endless roads of American suburbs, a lot of them straight up don't even have foot paths
Agree it’s a boring shoe, everyone trying to justify their purchase lol.
Great review! I was able to order a pair 2 weeks before my last marathon earlier this month. I honestly prefer them over any carbon plated shoe I own.
SB2 has been amazing for me, haters gonna hate - ill use your link if I ever need another pair, but they may just last forever 😅
The prayer had me rolling lol 😂
I think you are on to something with the race foam not working for you.
As a Superblast/Novablast fan this was exceptionally, unironically hilarious. Keep it up, brother!

The is what the Saucony shift could have been..it only needed a few tweeks to the breathability and the weight to be what the superblast wants to be..great honest review..😊
I feel like this is what Saucony wanted to make with the Kinvara Pro but failed pretty bad
I’ve have mixed runs in the SB2 75 miles in. Sometimes it feels amazing and other times I feel like I’m landing wrong and there’s no magic.
I actually really enjoy the SB2.. For a bigger guy, the platform is wide and it's stable.
Felt the same until I got into the 50-100 mile range. I love the Superblast!
I would have said the excact same about the Nimbus 26.
SB2 is what I reach for more often
also have both, greatly prefer sb2 for everything other than walking - foam on glycerin is nice though, just upper sucks and geometry is off (hot spots, blisters for me)
Thanks for feedback! Currently like a 8:55 min miler Half marathon time, so my easy/long days fall in the 10-11 min miles.
The Superblast is more similar to adidas Boston and Pro3 than it is to New Balance.
lol I love the analogies to the BMW 😂. The X5 40i is all you need
Great review as always !! Saw the black colorway at Feet Fleet !! Benny and 38 Spesh Stabbed and shot 2 came out today !!!
It's absolute flames 🔥 favorite bar so far is 38 Spesh saying "y'all slightly above average like the Tennessee titans" 😂
@@supwell 😂 Spesh different with his wordplay and bars !!
Any particular reason you enjoy the novablast more than the superblast?
hey Yowana. How do u deal with back heel blisters on hoka mach X2? :(
I really hate the loud slappy noise they make.
For me I really enjoy the sb2 right out of the box, spend 150km+ and still counting. Enjoy !
I had to put gloves on in the 'Sip this week. Hobby joggers dream weather in the dirty south. Don't talk to loud we're back in the 80s this weekend.
The superblast lord's prayer is probably my all time favorite bit😂 "give us this foam, our daily stack"😂💀
That slap is so noticeable that if i didn't know you better I'd think you were doing it on purpose
Please make another video about liking this shoe. This one does not validate my buy.
Got my pair coming tomorrow, and my On Cloud Boom strike (aka the who you calling smalls) can’t wait!
On point with the Dominican barbers haha. Congrats on the pr from Lawtown. Keep doing you
I am not going to cape up for a shoe, at all.
Do I like the super blast 2 ? Yes, but I am 205 pounds.
I also like the ghost max 2, triumph 20.., and the cloud eclipse.
Great stuff Yowana.
Ghost max so underrated! I've gotta get more miles in my v2s
The only Coltrane song that matters for runners is 26-2 :)
This all said, I'm here to eat my words 😂
Went into a local running store just to look and try on shoes, no intention to buy.
I kinda thankful for your video putting off my thirst on superblast, now I just hope for the Adizero Evo SL to come out good as expected
*side note: I hope the SB cabal doesn't get you cancelled 😅
Shoe of the Year…again
just thought about the remark you made about Elton John.......i don`t know anything about rap music, but in my opinion, Elton John might have had a very sucessful career, i take artists like Townes van Zandt, John Prine or Lucinda Williams any time, if we put the singing quality into the equation Emmylou Harris and Linda Ronstadt are on top of my list, can`t say the same for Taylor Swift
came back from my afternoon run.....an unused 9 year old Hoka Huaka with all the flaws the shoe has is just a dream for my feet and my soul. Sometimes the imperfect nearly forgotten and sadly discontinued shoes are the real gems
......ooooooh putting a plate with food on a vinyl-record-player.....not on mine
Your are risking your life doing the SB like that 😂
After the miles I have in the shoe there is a nice bounce in the mid to fore foot land and a soft feeling in heel, it’s more of a pick your preference and just auto pilot
What stretches do you do before you run?
Ahh man the 20 mile reviews are back ❤️
💪🏽💪🏽💪🏽
well, lets see if he still hates it ^^
I think the most enjoyable thing is seeing how difficult it is for you to not like these 😂
Like why are people struggling with the fact that not all shoes are for everyone and that's ok?
I went ahead and bought a pair anyway and I love them but I'm not gonna get up in arms that you hate them. I also got them for $150 directly from Asics so that makes it a muuuch better deal
i liked the superblast 1 better, and i liked it better pre break in. it's firmer and more bounce before break in
Shoe of the year
I find the SB2’s have a really sharp/slappy transition from heel to midfoot. As a midfoot striker they work great for me but I can’t imagine it being any fun for heel strikers. I really dislike walking in them because of that slappy rear foot transition.
'Insanity is doing the same thing over and over again and expecting different results.'
Such a perfect companion to raceday shoes, i hope they come out with at least one more new colour way befor v3 ( not only do i hate this punch in the face colour, but ive made a decision to run in these and the metaspeeds exclusively, and get at least two pairs of each... no more shoe juggling for me, im over it)
Shame they didnt include the cool looking pull tab in the tongue, as with the paris version.. either way, i do wonder, how are they gonna top this in v3? Hope they dont fk around with it
I had the same issue with the Novablast 4 similar geometry to the Superblast 2 it basically forced me to hill strike when I land mid foot causing the same slapping of my forefoot.
What's the Saucony pro grid doing at 150, where Amazon has some real pro grid Saucony's for 140 discount ($69)
Oh man, more SB2 shenanigans. I think it’s safe to call this one a no go
I used to heel strike. I got this shoe and it didnt work at first. I changed how I run, now striking mid or forefoot and it works very well and substantially increased my speed to around 4:30/km from around 5:30-6
100% mid to forefoot shoe. It's an incredible shoe!
Same for me. This shoe helped my form immensely. Once I got further to the front in my landing it felt amazing.
Banging review.......not sure if you've reviewed asics metaspeed edge yet? Keep the great content flowing.
