YES I’m here. Nice electric freight start. The class 88’s are my favorite electric locomotives, replacing the class 66 is when the Transpennine Route gets electrified, But that is only speculation
Hamstead railway station serves the Hamstead, Great Barr and Handsworth Wood areas of Birmingham, England. It is located at the junction of Rocky Lane and Old Walsall Road, Hamstead, at Birmingham's border with the borough of Sandwell. It is situated on the Birmingham-Walsall Line, part of the former Grand Junction Railway, opened in 1837. The station, and all trains serving it, are operated by West Midlands Trains. A bridge carrying Old Walsall Road over the railway serves as the only means for passengers to cross from one platform to the other.
You gotta record next at Purley Oaks there is no stopping it is the best to trainspott at even being my local station 😀It would also suit my brother who loves trains more than me to have you recording at his local station Your the best
My granddad would take me to see the trains here when I was a small boy in the early 60's. It is such a joy to see it operating still after all these years.
Never heard of this station but a selection of trains there including a railtour. I once boarded with Pathfinder in 2014, the Buffer Puffer, around Greater London. Speaking of railtours, I have booked a reservation for 'The Deltic Deviation', Intercity style in early May, just after the Bank Holiday. So anywhere from Finsbury Park in Greater London of course to Newcastle and return to see the Deltic.
I love the grunt of the 68s. Best new loco in the UK hands down. 2022 will be the last year for chiltern 68s so I will be making an effort to see them.
Hamstead, would never had thought there would be diverted traffic through there. Some epic mixed variety captured. And because it is Christmas, Merry Christmas :-)
Thanks and Merry Christmas to you too Ricky! The diversions were happening on weekends throughout August so I thought that linking them with a special made sense! 😃
Blimey this vid was amazing- nice catches on the freight and rail charter trains i must say and as always- keep up the good work lad and Congrats on hitting 5k subs!🥳💥
Thanks Daniel! I really enjoyed filming this one and it was great to see the 950 for once as well 😃 I’m really proud of the channel and I’m super excited to see what 2022 will bring. Thanks for sticking with my through it, it’s a real honour 😃😃
The Class 350/2 Desiros that are to be replaced by the Class 730s next year should be retained and probably used on London Euston-Northampton stopping services and on the Chase Line (Rugeley Trent Valley-Birmingham New Street & Birmingham International). And on the Abbey branch line (Watford Junction-St. Albans Abbey). And the Class 323 operating on the Cross-City Line to be replaced by the Class 730 3-Car and cascaded to Northern. With some to be moved for storage.
@@springy_afton_official Class 350/2s to be scrapped?? Why are they being scrapped and how do you know if they are to be scrapped. Why can't the Class 350/2s to be cascaded to another rail operator who might need them (ie-Northern, ScotRail, Transport for Wales, Great Western Railway or Great Northern). Or maybe they could be sent to be stored. Same with the Greater Anglia Class 379 Electrostars that are slowly being replaced by Class 720s.
The 68 was hauling the first leg of 'The Blue Boys Merrymixer' pathfinder railtour which allows passengers to travel on some routes which rarely see any traffic using various locos. Thanks for watching Martin 😃
Actually, it would go via Penkridge, use the avoiding line to pass Wolverhampton and go down to Tame Bridge, then over to Stechford (if they don't stop at New Street) If they did stop at New Street, they would go via Soho Junction
Hi Conall, there are several major rail tours from previous years; Pathfinder, Puffer Buffer, Branch Line Society. I'm not sure exactly which rail tours you are thinking of though. Thanks 😃
@@StarlifeStudios I just remember seeing one railtour that was broken into parts from videos in 2020, but I cannot remember specifically which one it was
@@conallplatts5244 Ahh yes! That makes sense now. That was a good rail tour (Although I didn't manage to get out and film it) Hopefully I'll get chance to film more in 2022, always nice to see something different 😃

Did you watch to the end? 😉
You uploaded a day early lol
Oh wait you didn't
I thought it was Saturday because I broke up from school on Thursday
Probably not if the variety is only the Class 350s with the occasional others. Nice sound they make though
It was iconic 😀

If you were looking for recommendations, I would say Alderey Edge (it’s between Crewe and Stockport). It’s pretty busy with a variety of trains.
