    Everything looks good and the instructions I will highly recommend to drain the water into a bucket first before install showerhead so all the residues are in water line goes to bucket not to the new shower head filter… you will see yelllowish water and some small particles first ,then clear water will appear thank you

    Thanks, had a stem go bad when some sand got into our water system this helped me remember the config for the handle. Also if you have hard water and you are replacing the stem I had to use CLR and scotch bright to clean inside valve body before the stem would fit in even with the included grease. Nice vid thanks again sir.

    Great video, but is this a replacement of what had been a Moen, so you could count on the mixer fitting the existing valve, or did you install a new valve before you began the handle installation?

    • @josephk9182
      @josephk9182  4 роки тому +1

      I installed a new valve. This is a remodeling shower everything is new.. If you have a old Moen valve most likely you can install a new Moen shower faucet with no issue.

  • @deecochin5640

    Thanks for the video. I am installing a similar Moen Alder 82603 shower faucet and have a question. As you know the trim ring has a red mark on the left side for hot, and a blue mark on the right side for cold. When I turn the handle to the left (it only turns in the left direction) cold water comes out, not hot. As I turn it down, around the 6:00 position the water starts getting warm as I would think it would, the further I turn right hotter the water gets as it would make sense until the knob stops turning around the 1:00 position. Is it correct that cold water comes out first not to get burned? And if it's correct cold water would come out first to the left, why would Moen mark the trim ring red for hot instead of blue for cold?

    • @josephk9182
      @josephk9182  9 місяців тому

      You installed it incorrect. The ring red is hot !! You did not install the knob correctly. Look at this video ua-cam.com/video/tqkC4bQ3FiQ/v-deo.html&ab_channel=JosephK start at 16 minutes.

    At time 2:38, do you inspect, or find the handle level firmly attached? Does it have any play, can be wiggled by 1 or 2 degrees left to right? If so, what can be done to fix it? Thanks!

    • @josephk9182
      @josephk9182  Рік тому

      I verified it that the handle is firmly attached. It can play 1 to 2 degrees. You should make sure that the level handle adapter is attached properly to the cartridge, make sure that with the Philip screw is tight. Also attach the Allen screw firmly to the level handle adapter.

    • @TheDzungTa
      @TheDzungTa Рік тому

      @@josephk9182 I verified that the Philip screw attaching the Adapter to the cartridge that it was at first not too tight. Then I found a gasket washer that fits the hole and the screw to make sure the screw is tight. It was tight until when I use the handle to test it, then the handle lever, while not as loose as before, tighter, but still has some play. The Allen screw is tight, no wiggle backward or forward on the handle, still some play left and right.
      Note that in my other bathroom, the original acrylic handle (knob) which is working, there is the same play of 1 or 2 degrees, so it may be normal???

    Had a plumber install the moen valve then months later I was able to tile the shower. Then I installed the moen shower faucet exactly as your video but no water comes out, what gives?? Water to the entire house is on. Any tips? Thanks!

    • @josephk9182
      @josephk9182  3 роки тому +1

      Did the plumber test the valve ? Check your installation without shower head install. If it does not work remove the installtion and check the valve by moving the (hndle) knob to see if water coming from the shower otherwise you may have a defect Moen kit.

    • @CGphotoOp

    You did not explain why leave the white plastic limit stop piece should be at 2 o'clock vs 12 o'clock position on the valve handle? Your video looks like at 1 o'clock position. What's the difference? Does this make it more hot or less hot at 2 o'clock position. Please advise before I do my install. Thank you for the great video!

    • @josephk9182
      @josephk9182  2 роки тому

      It is the adjustable temperature

    Great video! I am trying to install a Moen Alder 82603 which looks exactly like the one you have. I followed your installation and all looks good. However, when I turned it on, I am seeing just a minimal amount of water barely running from the tub sprout; nothing is coming from the shower. The water supply to the unit is very good. Do you know what may cause this? Do I need to do any adjustment on the unit before water start flowing?

    • @josephk9182
      @josephk9182  3 роки тому

      The adjustment is for the water temperature not for the water flowing. Make sure the valve to the water pipe supply is opened all the way. Otherwise, it maybe a bed shower valve or a shower cartridge.

      Yes, the cold water is first. The knob starts from the cold water (blue) and move toward the hot water (red). It is against code to start from hot water. The plumber may install it incorrectly, verify that the plumber is licence.
