Correct. Mixing red flake or red pearl with black is going to make a form of brown. Mid coating the metallic will give you a better result, but it'll still look somewhat brown. I think the effect you're looking for is going to require using Kandy red over the metallic mid coat.
You can't mix paint with flake..it just colours the flake,,base the car,mix flake with binder and spray over then clear plus depending on your gun you need a 1.8 min for flake ..
That explains why the black came out like crap. When I do the bike I will do it with a clear midcoat then clear over it this time. The gun I use for that is 1.8.
@@StartYourEngines77 1.3 for base and clear,1.8 to lay the flake/clear binder,if you just want to have a red glitter effect try using red pearl in your black paint,,can be all mixed as one and sprayed with a 1.3
Oh how I wished I had hair to pull out while watching. What are you doing to that gun and why are you putting flake in black base. This is not what I thought I'd see.
It's best to lay your black down and then use a clear basecoat binder to put your flake in on top of the black
Like a midcoat, Then clear over it?
@@StartYourEngines77 yup then clear over all of it

Hi! Try this: First, black paint. Then black candy and flakes into clear coat. Use a bigger spray gun. 1,6-1,8 tip on it. Forget all the filters!
Like that new intro you have.
I try to make it better.
Puts red flake in black paint and 90 percent of the flake gets turned black. Put it in the clear
The F20 is the flake?
Yes. House Of Kolor F20.
