Agreed. That's why I bought the S20 FE for the microSD. But when they ditched it in the 21 and then continuously ditched it, I just ditched the phone today for the Sony Xperia 1 mark 6. Still has the SD slot and a better camera. Yeah it's more expensive but it's better. I needed a new phone anyway.
Totally they're begging us here in India too and brought the price down to ₹33,999 (~ around $400) but it isn't worth it as it comes with Exynos 2200 here which has so much heating and battery drain issues 😢

That Samsung actually sold very well at Metro by T-Mobile. They couldn't keep it in stock until very recently. Constantly sold out online and in many stores.
I love my S23 FE! It's like having a super powerful phone without breaking the bank. The screen is beautiful, everything runs smoothly, and the camera is awesome for everyday shots, especially in bright light. The only downside I found is that the camera lenses stick out a bit and can scratch easily.
Galaxy S21FE - SD888 or Exynos 2100 Galaxy S23FE - SD8G1 or Exynos 2200 It makes me wonder on how will the future spec of S24FE be especially with the chipset as well as the OS & software updates. If S24FE were to have SD8+Gen1 (the same chipset on Galaxy Z Flip4) & same update policies as S24 series (7 years OS & software updates), then owners of S23 series (S23FE included) would feel the regret.

Using Samsung phones since Galaxy S3... Had used couple of Note series and all S series till S9 ( except S4). But now a days the prices are too much. Stuck with S9 plus and planning on moving to other andriod brands.
IMO, that's the thing about Samsung phones... you *CAN* stick to one phone, and it'll work for a long time. Other android phones, you'll probably buy for a cheaper price, with maybe more features, but I bet that you won't be able to use it after 2-3 years.
The problem Samsung has with the FE lineup is the exact same issue Google has with the A series, high prices with too many trade offs. Samsung also put the Snapdragon 8 gen 1 in the S23 FE which is the absolute worst overheating processor that Snapdragon has ever made. No one who’s even relatively well versed in tech would ever want to buy this phone. I’d honestly buy a Samsung A35 5g over this S23 FE and the A series phones aren’t known for overall performance. Even the Exynos processors won’t have as much problem with overheating as the 8 gen 1.
@@TechnologyMan9575 the 8 gen 1 made 2021 a strange year for Android flagships because of its potential performance that was kneecapped by its inefficiency. The 8 plus gen 1 fixed all the issues with it. If the stories are to be believed tho, Samsung is the one that fabbed the 8 gen 1 and TSMC fabbed the 8+ gen 1. They're basically the same chip but the previous was supposedly kneecapped by Samsung inefficient manufacturing process
@@TechnologyMan9575 ironically the only Samsung phone I ever owned was the S21 FE and I never experienced overheating on it except when gaming on a casino app. And even my iPhone does that too.

The S20 FE 5G is still a beast. I can play Genshin Impact at high settings with the Render Resolution set to Highest and Motion Blur turned off at 45 FPS (achieves up to 50 but I capped it to 45). Yes, there is a little bit of stutter but it only happens when there is too much things in screen. In spiral abyss, where I actually need the FPS, I can run it at 60 FPS.
Yeah I was kinda sad because I got that phone in 2021, but we had to trade ours in for a more budget phone due to money issues. I don't really get it, I guess we were on a monthly plan or something. I have the a14 now, and it's very nice, but also pretty laggy. I did get a iphone14 from my brother's friend recently, but I don't like iPhone as much, if I could I'd rather choose the s23 over it
Absolutely. I don't understand why they just don't call it. The A74 like you said and just release it in their A series lineup they have too many phones which isn't a bad thing but when it comes to the midrange lineup it's making customers choose wisely
This should be a lesson to samsung. You dont seal such amazing specs with chunky bezels as such on the display. In fact , all their devices from the mid-rangers to the Fe should have thinner bezels to improve the screen to body ratio. I hope samsung notes and improve this on their next release
To be honest i don't even notice it most of the time. Screens nowadays are large enough to not care but i do understand why it would be ideal to have thinner bezels for aesthetic reasons
Not only that Samsung whanted me to purchase new phones for the Ai features like i care for them the made Oneui 6.1 with some Ai on the regular S21 but on the S21 Fe not even one Ai feature came with the update only better animations and it has the same hardwere even 😂

@@gabriel1rodrigues2 Yes bro S series specially FE is really good but the S23 FE comes with an Exynos outside of the usa so yeah it's not that good in here 🙁
The S23 FE is just a rebranded A74, which never came out. Plus the SD 8 Gen 1 (and the Exynos equivalent here in the EU) has horrible battery life, resulting in less screen-on-time than the base S23 despite a much larger battery in the FE. Because of that I just went for a base S23 256GB. I don't even mind the bezels much tbh, I probably would've gotten it if it had the SD8+ Gen 1 with the fixed thermals and battery drain issues instead.
Please DON'T buy it!. It's a total crap, especially if you need a device with a decent battery performance. It's not bad but it's not worth your money.
You're right if you are anywhere else besides North America...where they have the snapdragon So I understand the video.... for EU and most of the world is a turd of a phone
Even with everything on Power saver lower brightness etc etc Battery still sucks on it Standby drain is not good I haven't had any overheating issues, If the S24FE has a bad chip and 4500mAh Ill be buying another brand. Samsung doesn't listen anymore this phone should of had SD 8+ Gen1 WORLDWIDE if they wanted to keep prices lower.
The S23 FE should have come with a SD 8+ Gen 1 at the lowest and an SD 8 Gen 2 proper. The FE series should not have dropped microSD card support. The FE should have had a consistent release schedule instead of a "will they, won't they" release schedule. And with the A series, people are going to just go for an A series phone. The A55 still works on GSM carriers so fans of the A series will import it. Samsung messed this up. The phone is overpriced for what you get. On Samsung's website, the FE costs $690 for the 256GB option. There's a OnePlus 12R with a SD 8 Gen 2 for $529 for the 256GB option on OnePlus' website. If Samsung wants this to sell, drop the price down to $500 for 256GB option and offer a trade in to further reduce cost. Samsung killed the FE line when it didn't have to. S series sales are correctly sluggish because the YOY proposition is not strong. So that is why the A series is more popular.
At the time of writing this comment in the US the galaxy s23 renewed is currently priced at $351 dollars and compared to this phone this has a better display, slimmer bezels, better camera, faster chip, and overall its last years base flagship the only things that can possibly make the s23 fe better is having a warranty, fresh battery inside, bigger display, and honestly that’s about it. Though I do see both sides of the argument. :)
I have the S23FE, Camera is good, screen is good (idc about bezels), UI is good, the only drawback with this phone is the processor (especially the Exynos), it overheats a lot
I have the exynos version only noticed it get warm ( not hot) a couple of times . Battery loads better after updates . Used tk get between 6 and 7 hours now I get between 7 and 9
I'm considering buying one, myself, but I want the price to come down at least $100 with it only having a Snapdragon 8 Gen 1. If it had a proper 8 Gen 2 (since it is supposed to be an S23 FE, not an S22FE), I'd but it at $599, but it's not worth it. They could have least given it the 8 Plus Gen 1, to give it better battery life. And they need to bring back the SD card reader!
I paid 319$ for this device at metro pcs. after using it since January of this year I can say for what I paid it's not bad. my only 2 complaints are 128 really isn't enough especially without an SD card but that's a me problem and the random overheating at times especially when gaming (which is ironic because this phone can game really well even with ps2 and gamecube emulation) but even when your not gaming it still randomly overheats. when that happens I tend to get really bad battery drain. if not for that I'd 100% recommend it
@@GaetanoProchilo1989heating issues will occur on A55 too they're both exynos, besides you'll get a reduced feature set like intentionally downgraded app opening animations and blur effects

As a S20FE user, these are the reason I have not upgraded to newerFE models: 1) Smaller Screen 2) No SD card slot 3) Not offering 512gb to compensate for no SD card 4) older processor 5) Bad timing for the releases. Never consistent on when it comes out
@@ffrezyeditor69geming51 Nice display and nice camera. I especially like the camera's AI-assisted Night Mode. It gets warm really fast when the CPU is used but nothing's perfect. So far so good.
The battery is actually good and charges quite fast, but the phone is power-hungry. The duration of the battery ended up being average: it lasts a full day of normal use when set at 80%. .
As someone who actually was planning to buy this phone (and bought it), it is a fantastic device. I was cross shopping it at the time with the A54 and the Nothing Phone 2 (this was a bit more expensive) and chose the S23 FE at the end mainly cuz of the camera and the little extra bells and whistles that came along with it (wireless charging, IP68 ingress protection, long software support policy) The Exynos variant I got is more than enough for 99% of what I do, the bezels aren't a deal breaker and you barely notice them after a while + in my country there are fantastic deals and discounts on the phone nowadays that make it more attractive than the newly released A55 or the previous gen A54
The Moto G Stylus 5G 2024 is a better phone in my humble opinion, regardless of the much slower SoC. Much better and larger display, significantly smaller bezels, impressive battery life, 30W charging, wireless charging, Micro SD card, and a more flagship overall look with less rounded edges compared to the S 23 FE as well as the Pixel 8 lineup.
It's just an A54 chassis with metal side rails and very heavy due to the big-ass vapour chamber inside to tame The Exynos 2200 (which it still failed to do, battery life, thermals, throttling and all are still just as bad as the S22 series).
Large bezels, ugly metal ring around the selfie camera, lackluster S22 chip, no expandable storage, no 3.5mm jack. It lacks the value features that make a budget phone while also lacking the performance capability of modern flagships. It can work, but most people will be better served with a different device.
I have the Exynos version. The only problem is related to the antennas I suppose. Occasionally you just can't download a webpage until you switch the wifi on. The problem is not constant and the phone is never unresponsive, so it's not a deal breaker, but annoying still when it happens. Those bezels don't bother me at all. It's not like the display itself was a 60hz monstrosity or anything like that.
So much of calling it a FE - Fan Edition, if it didnt bring back a Micro SD card support. Begging us to get it when such a feature is missing is just a deal breaker for me. If there was the SD slot included, i would definitely get it tho. Had an S20+ but due to its annoying green line issue, i got the S20 FE as an alternative. For now, i'm just gonna rock my current S20 FE. As much as i would "downgrade" to the A series phone that has SD slot, it would be nice to have flagship phone at a cheaper price.
I got the A55 is for sale on Amazon. It replaced my A72, that had the same camera, with 10x zoom which turned into 30x zoom with a software update, but the A55 has AI added. It's pretty simple for them to add the same into the A55 in the near future.
This is very expensive my my location. Cost nearly as much as the vase S23 and far more than the A55 which is not the best value for money in the midrange these days. So, I believe Samsung can do more with pricing
Here in my country it's better if i go with a contracyand it's a little bit more expensive than the A55 whereas the A35 and A55 are very overpriced. So spending a little more for the S23 fe makes more sense imo. It also seems to be the most well rounded phone for my uses and gives me all the things that i want from the S24 without spending as much for it. It's essentially the budget/entry flagship and I'm happy with that.
I own the s23 Fe! Got a really good deal for it as well. Didn't pay anything for the phone when I got it, phone plan didn't go up, and after 2 years, I can either keep the phone for 200 Canadian dollars or give it back to my service provider and not pay a penny. I also got that deal for the s20 Fe. I'll probably pay the $200 and keep using it.
Albeit getting one as a gift in 2021, I am still using the s20FE. High power user and still very content with the phone to a limit where upgrading still feels like a waste
S23 fe is thicker than S21 Fe, it has bigger bezels than s21 fe but samsung with help of its Updated literally made s21 fe a phone full of bugs and issues which forces people not to buy it ,but if the 21 fe would have been stable as it was it beats the 23 fe aesthetically
Slightly big bezels is okay, but asimetrycal bezels especially the bottom bezel is unacceptable these days. That's the main reason why I bought used S22+ instead of this S23FE. Both are about the same price, both uses the identical processor, and the S22+ is more aesthethic about the bezels, not to mention other better specs compared to S23FE.
I'm good with the A-Series phones. The microSD expendable memory is nice to have. And the performance is more than enough for me. Make phones with that, and at a lower price range, and I'll go for it (like the A-series). I personally don't need a "flagship" phone, at a higher price point, and can still make my A-series phones last 4-5+ years.
My spouse was using S20FE since 2021, I waited till dec2023 to buy S23FE but it's chipset, battery and large Bentley does not make it flagship killer. Hence, I had to bought S23+ with huge discount after lounch S24 series.
I just moved from a Pixel 6 to the S23 fe. I'm very happy to make this very budget friendly upgrade. Can you do a video on the real cost of the various services. Not the advertised price but the actual bill that shows up. I was on Republic and jumped to Mint 6 or 7 years ago. My actual Verizon bill was not close to the advertised price.
I actually think one of the main reasons why companies in general are worried about sales is that people is now realizing that they actually don’t need to renew their phone every single year because since like 2020 with the 5G Flagships you actually don’t need a super powerful processors or a super HDR 4K 8K 3600X Zoom whatever camera, because phones are just at their peak My Lastt phone is an iPhone 12 Pro Max and I could just replace the battery and I would be OK with that… like I don’t need Dynamic Island I don’t need AI I don’t need a better camera that the one I have on my phone so it just does not make sense for me to spend an extra thousand dollars in a phone that I would not notice any special change You could easily buy an S21 and you would be happy or an iPhone 12 and you would be Happy So they really need to bring up something that’s really impacts on people or has like a life-changing feature for us to really Feel The Need to Upgrade I preferred to renew my iPad and my Apple Watch instead of my iPhone because I think that I don’t need it
4:40 Samsung thinks they can Increase FE's Price and Make it worse to make more profit from it, but they forgot Middle Class People aren't just gonna buy their Flagship S Models more than S-FE Models, because there are more Middle Class People than Rich ones, Samsung should just leave Mid Range Flagship Market Forevef and only focus on Flagship S Models, we don't want Samsung anymore, they just ruined S-FE series trying to make it worse and expensive to encourage Middle Class People to buy Flagships, but that isn't gonna happen, as Samsung is trash except the S Line-up, Samsung ruined our trust so much that we won't give a f if they leave Indian Market Forever
I love mine. My work phone is the S23 and its nice. But I prefer the size of the S23FE and as you said its so close in specs in the US version that this device is powerful and feels just as good. Great review.
I gasped in shock when i saw those bezels at 0:04 MY GOODNESS are they thick and ugly af! I remember how nice and thin the bezels on my S21 FE were... I bought the phone here in Mexico over the A series and I am honestly completely happy with my decision I love the phone love the camera just don't love the bezels
There's one MASSIVE dealbreaker for me: the S23 FE has no physical proximity sensor. It uses virtual proximity sensing like it does on its cheap A series devices. This means the phone can't tell when it's actually at your ear, or in your pocket, or when it's just in a dark room and not your pocket. This is why my S20 FE would incessantly turn on in my pocket, or freak out when using it in a dark room. But thing is, proximity sensors aren't expensive to put in at all. Virtually every other cheap phone besides Samsung's has physical proximity sensors. They had proximity sensors in their older A50 and A70 phones from 2019. It makes no sense.
I got an S23fe (USA version) for me and my mom, and we absolutely love it! It's the best phone I have ever had, and I am very grateful to upgrade from the Samsung Galaxy A12 I had beforehand. I have not had any overheating issues, and the battery life is great! l highly recommend this phone! ✌️❤️

The A54 and A55 are just about the same phone as the FE. Thats why Samsung doesn't sell the new A55 in the U.S., they just want people to spend more money and buy the FE lol
So, with all the known battery saving tips out there can I get a SOT of 5 hours or more for my S23 FE? With "everyday normal use" (without steaming, gaming, Location services turned off, no apps or tasks running in the background, etc.) can I still have at least 30% by 7pm on my S23 FE? Nobody should buy this phone. It's bulky, thick bezel for a "flagship," and it uses the highly inefficient Exynos 2200. Nobody bought it for a reason. The proper S23 lineup are the better deal. Or just get the A55, at least you don't have to pay premium for thick bezels.
The A55 and S23 FE are both great phones, but they have different strengths. The A55 has a better battery life and is cheaper, while the S23 FE has a better camera and processor. If you're on a budget, the A55 is a great choice. It has a large battery that will last all day, even with heavy use. It also has a good camera that takes great photos in most conditions. If you want the best possible camera and performance, the S23 FE is the better choice. It has a powerful processor that can handle any task you throw at it, and its camera takes amazing photos in any light. A week back I bought a S23FE and feel like S20FE experience again, a super solid phone for lesser than S23+. Supper happy. Most complaints about the phone are pointless and mostly from people who never used the phone.

Samsung should have kept the microSD on the FE models
That would have been great
IKR bro! FE models be in their own league of their own. Those wanting the regular line up, let them be. Still need that microSD slot
Exactly, knowing that it's a FAN EDITION, the only good thing about mine was I had the dual sim.
They removed the SD card on the FE models because people would've bought that over the regular S model.
Totally they're begging us here in India too and brought the price down to ₹33,999 (~ around $400) but it isn't worth it as it comes with Exynos 2200 here which has so much heating and battery drain issues 😢

Galaxy S21FE - SD888 or Exynos 2100
Galaxy S23FE - SD8G1 or Exynos 2200
It makes me wonder on how will the future spec of S24FE be especially with the chipset as well as the OS & software updates. If S24FE were to have SD8+Gen1 (the same chipset on Galaxy Z Flip4) & same update policies as S24 series (7 years OS & software updates), then owners of S23 series (S23FE included) would feel the regret.
You forgot that the S20 FE originally offered either Exynos 990 or SD865, but the Exynos variant was discontinued in sales around 2021 or 2022 in favor of Snapdragon only

Look at the Samsung A55...heard it was good. Look at videos in UA-cam...

To be honest i don't even notice it most of the time. Screens nowadays are large enough to not care but i do understand why it would be ideal to have thinner bezels for aesthetic reasons

Samsung's just selling off their stash of older 8 Gen 1s through this phone... that's all.
Please DON'T buy it!. It's a total crap, especially if you need a device with a decent battery performance. It's not bad but it's not worth your money.

If Samsung wanted people to buy so bad they would've enabled it to have expendable storage just like the A54.
My S20 FE 5G has been a great phone. No SD slot on the S series is a dealbreaker for me. I'll be happy going to an A series then.

I paid 319$ for this device at metro pcs. after using it since January of this year I can say for what I paid it's not bad. my only 2 complaints are 128 really isn't enough especially without an SD card but that's a me problem and the random overheating at times especially when gaming (which is ironic because this phone can game really well even with ps2 and gamecube emulation)
but even when your not gaming it still randomly overheats. when that happens I tend to get really bad battery drain. if not for that I'd 100% recommend it
This is exactly why i've choose A55 over S23 FE.

As someone who actually was planning to buy this phone (and bought it), it is a fantastic device. I was cross shopping it at the time with the A54 and the Nothing Phone 2 (this was a bit more expensive) and chose the S23 FE at the end mainly cuz of the camera and the little extra bells and whistles that came along with it (wireless charging, IP68 ingress protection, long software support policy)
The Exynos variant I got is more than enough for 99% of what I do, the bezels aren't a deal breaker and you barely notice them after a while + in my country there are fantastic deals and discounts on the phone nowadays that make it more attractive than the newly released A55 or the previous gen A54
Hows the battery life
Is you're fe overheating? Even when not gaming?
I have this phone and it suxks the battery life is horrible and it's overheat and it dont super fast charge when the phone is hot
They have to innovate on their designs just like the good old days when they do avantgarde designs
The bezels are HUGE.
Hey, what's that wallpaper? I love it! Can we access it too?
can they just stop with the chin bezels? I'd rather have a thick uniform bezel than have a thin one with a horrendous chin.
Bring the sd card and people will buy
With 256 GB you won't need an SD card
The S series will never bring the SD card back

If there was the SD slot included, i would definitely get it tho. Had an S20+ but due to its annoying green line issue, i got the S20 FE as an alternative. For now, i'm just gonna rock my current S20 FE. As much as i would "downgrade" to the A series phone that has SD slot, it would be nice to have flagship phone at a cheaper price.
If it had a SD card slot and headphone jack, it would be a great choice; since it doesn't, I must take a hard pass.

The s20 fe had much much smaller bezels, same thing with the a52 against the a55
Slightly big bezels is okay, but asimetrycal bezels especially the bottom bezel is unacceptable these days.

I actually think one of the main reasons why companies in general are worried about sales is that people is now realizing that they actually don’t need to renew their phone every single year because since like 2020 with the 5G Flagships you actually don’t need a super powerful processors or a super HDR 4K 8K 3600X Zoom whatever camera, because phones are just at their peak
My Lastt phone is an iPhone 12 Pro Max and I could just replace the battery and I would be OK with that…
like I don’t need Dynamic Island I don’t need AI I don’t need a better camera that the one I have on my phone so it just does not make sense for me to spend an extra thousand dollars in a phone that I would not notice any special change
You could easily buy an S21 and you would be happy or an iPhone 12 and you would be Happy
So they really need to bring up something that’s really impacts on people or has like a life-changing feature for us to really Feel The Need to Upgrade
I preferred to renew my iPad and my Apple Watch instead of my iPhone because I think that I don’t need it
4:40 Samsung thinks they can Increase FE's Price and Make it worse to make more profit from it, but they forgot Middle Class People aren't just gonna buy their Flagship S Models more than S-FE Models, because there are more Middle Class People than Rich ones, Samsung should just leave Mid Range Flagship Market Forevef and only focus on Flagship S Models, we don't want Samsung anymore, they just ruined S-FE series trying to make it worse and expensive to encourage Middle Class People to buy Flagships, but that isn't gonna happen, as Samsung is trash except the S Line-up, Samsung ruined our trust so much that we won't give a f if they leave Indian Market Forever

What is that bezel?

The price of A55 and S23FE are at same price in Saudi Arabia. So comparatively S23FE Seems like a better deal as the performance and camera are better
A55 had seamless update (hidden feature)
S23 fe half the battery life, smaller screen, no SD card slot, and slower charging speed😂
What about intense heating issues which never leaves Samsung phones
Dont buy the s23 fe. It overheats, bad battery, huge bezels. Buy the s23 for the same price or the s23 plus for a little extra
Why are Samsung not putting in SD Card Slots in there S Series phones.
And which was the last Samsung S Series phones to have a SD Card Slot.
Don't buy the FE series 😑, My S21Fe is worst phone, FE series not recommended
How's the battery? 😈
@@tom8464 🤮
Im using this phone (exynos version) for almost a month, and all i can say is im satisfied with the experience.
Is this the end of the 'FE' Series? 😢

I like watching your videos, but I will point out errors. However, the original FE model was the Note 7 FE, released on July 7, 2017, not the S20 FE, as stated at the 2:17, 3:49, and 7:13 marks of this video.
Fingers crossed 🤞
I hope so 🙏🏻
whats the purple wave wallpaper in the video - link please?
I nearly bought FE as its used to be nerfed flagship with micro-sd slot.
But micro-sd slot is gone and there are no 512gb variant, I ended buying a54
The A54 and A55 are just about the same phone as the FE. Thats why Samsung doesn't sell the new A55 in the U.S., they just want people to spend more money and buy the FE lol
It is just a blunder to put 4500 mAH battery when Samsung is putting 5000 even in low capable a series
Or just get an A55?
I just got the s23 regular
at the day of release, it was already an old phone. it gets 1 less android version than a55. other differences are not huge not all the people need wireless charging and having a bad battery and small screen with huge corners. its s22 device at the same time s24 released. just buy a35 or expense more to buy a s23/s23+ or s24/s24+ you wont regret.
Nobody should buy this phone. It's bulky, thick bezel for a "flagship," and it uses the highly inefficient Exynos 2200. Nobody bought it for a reason. The proper S23 lineup are the better deal. Or just get the A55, at least you don't have to pay premium for thick bezels.
which perform best in battery life ? in s20 to s23
Ultimately, the best phone for you depends on your individual needs and priorities.
No micro SD and limited onboard storage....no thanks.
Yeah
256gb is a lot though
@@valkeitosdude people like you are fuuuking stupid.
It's not just photos and videos you can put apps tons of music movies games on SD cards.
Back when i had phones with SD cards. I would have all my music that I downloaded from DatPiff or LiveMixtapes app on my SD card. So it's not taking up storage on my phone.
Games like cod mobile take up 20 gigs of storage. if you had a 128 gig SD card or higher you can move that game to the SD card so it's not taking up storage in your phone.
Do you understand now you smooth brain do you finally get it? 🤦🏿♂️
I was watching the video with Galaxy S23 FE 256GB model with Exynos 2200.
Still rocking my S21FE, and it's a solid phone for work, games & media consumption. 👍
Should i get this or redmi note 13 pro plus global 512gb/12gb.(focus for gaming)
