I remember looking for this years ago after seeing half of the play on TV and being disappointed. today I thought I should look again just in case and found this gem, thank you for uploading this!!
Nope ,Jose did it justice once and for all. You can watch it on repeat and it gets better and better. Not this tripe. No depth or soul, just shallow performance from a young American.
Waterworks T_T every time Roxane's last little forehead kiss GOD......... why are we on earth... just to suffer... But I still have to point out my favourite pun in this adaptation, which I only just understood with the visual context of Cyrano hugging Christian! 59:43 "Ah! A devil changed into a Christian brother! Attack one nostril and he turns the other."
So true!! Kevin Kline's delivery of "I fell into a tree :)" gets me every time 😂 Cyrano is such a hard character to cast bc his actor needs to be convincing both as a soldier & a tragic lover, but also in comic scenes! This play is so clever, I sometimes forget how funny it is too. Anyway, I think Kline was a brilliant choice for the role :) He never fell flat in a single scene, even when falling from the Moon
If Cyrano de Bergerac was alive today in the 21st Century, he would be able to arrange for a licensed plastic surgeon to correct the deformity of his overextended nose.
If he was still alive and I met him I'd advise him against it. There's plenty of women out there besides his cousin, and many of us find beauty in his wit
There used to be a high quality upload on here. A shame it's gone, but at least I can still rewatch the play. Kevin Kline was brilliant.
Oh Cyrano (Kevin Kline), how I love you...💘

"But be sure, you imbecilic nit,
Even if you possessed the words and wit,
I'd never let you get away with it 😈"
I LOVE HIM
This is fantastic!
I love this play & have done since a child...😊❤
sublime
I LOVE THIS SO MUCH!
Love this performance 🎭
Thank you!
While Jose Ferrer's Cyrano is legendary, the play and part can never belong to one man. It is too great of a role.

oh so sad the quality is so poor, but I love seeing Jennifer in her role!

College brought me here
Like watching through a heavy FOG
C'est un crime de traduire Cyrano !
Sadly lacking performance. Cyrano De Bergerac (1950) is where the gold is at.
Kevin Kline’s better than Jose Ferrier! However, Jennifer Garner-Affleck as Roxanne is bad and overacted. :(
If Cyrano de Bergerac was alive today in the 21st Century, he would be able to arrange for a licensed plastic surgeon to correct the deformity of his overextended nose.
But then his nose would be artificial. Better he be intact with integrity as God made him.
If he was still alive and I met him I'd advise him against it. There's plenty of women out there besides his cousin, and many of us find beauty in his wit
Not bad but not to the level of Jose Ferrer
