I remember when this showed on pbs. I was a kid. I recorded and played it until my tape popped. I’ve been hunting for this. I pray that they remake this play.

Cynthia is a terrible Mary Haines. No nuance or genuine emotions at all, it sounds like she’s running lines and practicing a new accent. She brings the whole play down.

Thanks so much for sharing. This is so amazing. One thing I don't understand though is that in the second part why there're people in the audience laughing? It's such a tragic story. I can't imagine laughing at all. I watched it with a heavy heart and found the laughing really inappropriate and weird.

Why the fck didn't they record Harry Groener and the rest of the original cast? Why is that we can't never get a professional video of OG casts like Into The Woods?

I was the Associate Producer for the original Broadway production. I had a copy of this on VHS but for some reason, the VCR shut down five minutes before it was over. After going down the UA-cam rabbit hole, I was glad to see the whole thing at last. This is the national tour, so sadly none of our original stars are in it like Tonya or Andre but this cast is fabulous. Thanks for sharing.

Cynthia Nixon is absolutely unbearable. I mean here even more so than usual. There wasn't an actress in the world less suited to the delicate, charming role of Mary Haines, and they chose this one.

Waterworks T_T every time Roxane's last little forehead kiss GOD......... why are we on earth... just to suffer... But I still have to point out my favourite pun in this adaptation, which I only just understood with the visual context of Cyrano hugging Christian! 59:43 "Ah! A devil changed into a Christian brother! Attack one nostril and he turns the other."

I'll stick with the movie. The original that is.

Not bad but not to the level of Jose Ferrer

I have been fortunate to have seen the Dustin Hoffman production in New York, as well as the Dennehe and Phillip Hoffman productions. The Dennehy, I saw three times; twice with groups of my high school students. The power and raw emotion of this play, especially when done well, are astounding and long-lasting.

i was excited to see Cynthia Nixon. .. but that accent! WHAT was that accent?? i'm done now.
