Well, he did use his light to revive our ghost, so i guess he'll always be with us. Rest in peace, you cartoony bastard.
Devotion inspires bravery. Bravery inspires sacrifice. Bungie handled his character with such care and love in this expansion and his final sacrifice, his final goodbye, was the best way to end his story.
Cayde-6 my favorite character in general of all time. Now his story has come to a definite and earth shattering end. His story may be done but it won't be forgotten by those that know it.

we spent all this time.. with nathan fillion and lance.. and both voice actors for ikora... it feels like they're really my friends.. and it makes me cry when I think about that... Nathans final words in destiny "You are my favorite"
And lance.. just too much with lance man... everyday was with him. You hear him everywhere you go...The brother, the friend, and the father you wish you had.
Tbh i don't know if im weird or something for this but every character in both games are like family for me. My family never really helped me with life when i was younger. The only one that helped was my grandparents but i lost my grandma in 2014. She was my light and i been on my own mentally then destiny came into my life. When cayde said "Guardian take me with you. I hate this job" i laughed so hard. It felt like part of my grandma personality was in him and I instantly loved him. Then as time went on i grew a bond with all characters because all of them combined would make up all of parts of her. But when i lost cayde it felt like I lost her all over again. This video reminds me of the my years in destiny and all the good memories i had in real life. when he said "you're my favorite". It felt like cayde and my grandma said to me. Thank you for making this
It’s not weird, as long as you’re aware of the line between fiction and reality. It’s perfectly normal to relate to characters in stories, and even feel a connection with them.

This is what I think Sundance is trying to say, much like many sacrifices given by the right person or people, it'll give hope to others in order for them to live on.

Don't know if its a reference or not but what Cayde says before "try to keep up" (0:35), is very similar to what Marty says before singing Johnny B. Goode in Back to the Future

after seeing what the original ending for this expansion was supposed to be, the six-month extra wait was well worth it.
idk about anyone else, but I cried after the end of the story. The minute "Remembrance" came on after Cayde faded away that was it
I like that they didn't invalidate his death. But instead that the people that mourned his absence and regretted his murder could get closure, and that Cayde, through some pretty firm shoves, got Crow to take up the mantle that he held. It was a good story. I do not regret buying it.

I remember a friend of mine who tried out Destiny 2 for the first time, he asked "Wait, if theres a person leading each class, wheres the one for the Hunters?" Was a bit too close to crying
When you realize who Cayde thought was "Ace", it truly made you sad, and everything that happens in this story is now...As Cayde said in the video..."Every Story, has an End...this is mine." Thank you, Nathan Fillion, for returning one last time...to bring the Vanguard back for a short while, and give us the memories we needed...Hunters the reminders to behave...and the Guardians entirely a new Vanguard...a new...Hunter Vanguard. in which his name is not Uldren, due to the Vanguard Dare, no. His name is Crow, and he has been brought back, learned his wrongdoings, and even fought the past of his corrupted self, fighting loss, and even temptations of them bringing someone he loved back. Cayde knew his time as Vanguard ended when Uldren made him bite the bullet. So...why not give the new one a few lessons and a brand new look along with giving his old title of Hunter Vanguard. To the new. I thank any Guardian who reads this, and I hope all of you have a wonderful day. See you all Starside, Guardians.

Cried my eyes out .. should NOT have watched this in the GYM ... MAAAAAAN... I miss Cayde SO frikking much, they didnt even let us have him back for one full chapter.. we waited SO long and then POOF he was back and gone again... My heart aches... love that Dude so much... i kinda lost interest for a while after that... but when i watched this it reminded me.. im capable of great things.. (cheers Cayde, that has got me through some real life shit too)... i totally lost myself in that crazy fool over the years and find it so difficult to watch things like this because i just break all over again.. instant tears... you did an AWESOME job on this thank you so much....
