    I caught the largest shrimp I have ever seen.188 pounds of shrimp that I sold to the wholesale house where I docked my boat.They gave you free dock in a calm harbor all lights and fresh water included free.They counted my catch out as four sixes.That means takes four to six shrimp per pound.All the old timers who had been shrimping for fifty plus years said the were the largest they had ever seen.We could hand select like three at a time to make a pound.That was in 1971,I do remember the whiskers were two to three feet long and as big around as as kitchen match.That was in the gulf off Galveston about ten miles.

    Anyway, like I was sayin', shrimp is the fruit of the sea. You can barbecue it, boil it, broil it, bake it, sauté it. Dey's uh, shrimp-kabobs, shrimp creole, shrimp gumbo. Pan fried, deep fried, stir-fried. There's pineapple shrimp, lemon shrimp, coconut shrimp, pepper shrimp, shrimp soup, shrimp stew, shrimp salad, shrimp and potatoes, shrimp burger, shrimp sandwich. That- that's about it.

      If no humans eat shrimps, there would most likely happen an overpopulation of the species also an increase in the number of predators to shrimps. No shrimps would really go as big only more of them in number. Our food chain right now is very fragile. If one species goes extinct, endangered or becomes overpopulated its going to affect others and damage the food chain

    • @connoradams3318
      @connoradams3318 7 років тому +2

      Oh please, horace.e, shrimps have been on this planet over 420 million years prior to humans. The only reason they could overpopulate is because we also murder their natural predators and screwed up the food chain in the first place.

    The Differences Between Prawns and Shrimp

    Can you just imagine how much money a shrimp farm would have paid for it had they had immediately put them in clean water and kept them alive? That’s genetics, right there. Those could have been bred, and the offspring used to start an entire farm spitting out nothing but giants. Then they could have begun the process of selecting for tenderness, disease resistant, and heartiness. Yep, an opportunity lost, there.
    Personally, I don’t like to eat colossal shrimp. They’re tough and not as sweet, but there’s an entire market out there that loves them some colossal shrimp!

      Anyway, like I was sayin', shrimp is the fruit of the sea. You can barbecue it, boil it, broil it, bake it, saute it. Dey's uh, shrimp-kabobs, shrimp creole, shrimp gumbo. Pan fried, deep fried, stir-fried. There's pineapple shrimp, lemon shrimp, coconut shrimp, pepper shrimp, shrimp soup, shrimp stew, shrimp salad, shrimp and potatoes, shrimp burger, shrimp sandwich. That- that's about it.
