Seriously --- I have watched a **million** UA-cam tutorials about Logic Pro X --- but THIS was, by far, the most helpful. I could go on...but I'm too busy ACTUALLY GETTING SOME EDITING DONE now -- thanks to YOU!
Since I've already seen some of your posts, it's time to write a comment. Over time I have seen countless videos on the subject of music production and there are so many channels that tell a lot, but I still mostly feel insecure and at first I don't know whether I have understood it or not and that's why I am I'm glad to have found your channel. Although I have seen many articles in my native language (German) and my English is rather mediocre, I am always surprised at how well and professionally you convey your knowledge. I will definitely recommend you and thank you for your great work. Many greetings from Berlin. ✌🏻
I can’t believe how much detail Logic tools contain. I’m on windows right now and use a program called Mixcraft 9 pro studio, which is a great and simple DAW for music production, but I’ve gotten to a point where I need to move to something more advanced. I’ve ordered the M1 14” MacBook Pro and am super excited to start using logic with that thing, especially after watching this video. Thank you for this awesome tutorial!
Amazing video. Just a mirror somebody other comments regarding watching numerous other UA-cam videos on similar content, your videos just seem to make more sense. They're more relatable, to the point, stripped down to the point where understanding the concept is much easier than trying to relate to or break down the context of a song or a genre.
excellent! initially I didn't listen due to the length, then, I used timestamps for specific subject, like flex time, and found it very helpful. I've listened to several others on the topic and picked up things not mentioned elsewhere. I'm sure I will eventually watch more. thank you!
This video is amazing thanks you. I thought other daws are better than Logic when it comes to Editing audios and mixing sounds. After watching this video, it changed my whole work routine.
Amazing vocal correction with Flextime and you have opened a lot of doors for us home recording Logic X users. Any suggestions for plugins compatible with Logic X ? Have you used Abbey Road Studios software?
Hi mate. I love the content on here, but I have a quick question, do u know at the start of your video, you touch on the adding time reference to the grid, as you are not using the musical grid. Is there a way to use musical grid and have time displayed across the top, as it used to be like that in earlier versions of logic. thanks
Really enjoyed this vid. Very helpful, thank you so much! I'm looking for a way to filter out lip smacking, swallowing etcetera. I'm editing voice only 45 minute yoga sessions for the first time and now find myself with about 65 of these little events to edit. Hope you or anyone else can help me out with a good tip or some advise. Thanks in advance, take care!
During the Flex example, what’s the difference between the top and bottom? Are they the same sounds or is it the left right? Is it possible to delete out either the top or bottom?
These days audio-editing becomes a whole lot more affordable compared to a decade ago, so here are 5 top benefits when outsourcing your audio-editing! voice123.com/blog/voice123/should-you-outsource-your-audio-editing/?UA-cam&Blog%20clicks&Should%20you%20outsource
In the 'Controlling Project Tempo & Key" section, in the Joe Corbin audio tracks project, you do a whole lot of tempo cleanup, but it doesn't affect the audio. Why are you doing the extensive tempo track editing in an audio project if it doesn't affect anything except the metronome? Is it just a demonstration of tempo track editing that you happen to throw in, unrelated to that project? Maybe you're making the (minor) point that it doesn't affect audio, but why not spend that time inside a project with tracks where it DOES make a difference?
Hi oI have recorded some foley foot steps They’re on one file I need to cut each one of them to be the same length how do I do that what do I do in logic to make this process simpler thanks
I don't have an option for "Detect Tempo" is there something I am missing? I have highlighted and selected my main track and am just trying to add bass to it. Am I able to detect tempo from my main track?
Does anyone know how to remove a library instrument effect to a track one you try and apply one? If you don't like it how do you get it back to just the plain original recording? new to logic here so I'm sure it's an easy one and I'm just not finding it.....
Is stretch time linked to the metronome? I put in on a piano track and suddenly the whole track is playing like the 8th note triplet became the tempo,....really fast!!
is there a way to avoid Logic asking if you want to "add a change to preserve subsequent time signatures" I'm editing dialogue and cut time between locators is so helpful, but responding to the time signature prompt becomes tedious. I'm sure there's a way around it I just haven't been able to figure it out! Any help on this is appreciated
I recorded my Karma Synth instrument to an audio file. After I had done so, I realized the entire track would benefit from some "variations in tempo" which I modified using automation n Global Mode. Everything syncs as it should, except for the Karma Synth audio track. It comes in about a measure and a half too early then what it should. Sounds terrible. But fixable as it had once properly synced when I had simplied used a steady tempo of 95 BPM in the song. What is the best way of fixing this situation as the song proceeds from a long ambient section to an orchestral mood piece with a heavy rhythmic component to it? I could re-record the Karma track as the MIDI clock will certainly track to the still stored track. I could split the audio regions at a certain point and drag the 2nd region to sit where it should with the arrangement. It's just an A / B type of situation. I'm leaning toward splitting or cutting the one audio region into two. Fade A so there is no audible sound when said snipping occurs and fading in at the correct moment to boost the upswell of strings. Unless anyone knows of a better way.... Anyone ? Dr. Dyper, I am not. Promise.
What are you doing at 36:45? I really need to do this but it is gone in a trice! I want to remove errors in an audio track and move following audio leftwards to take its place. You use the Marquee tool then 'trim this' and the passage duly takes up the space on the left. HOW?? HOW??!! (sob). If I trim using the cursor I just get left with a space. The trim option in Edit is too complicated to understand. Otherwise really helpful videos, but ...help?
He cuts the region with the marquee tool with a double click (you can do this with Cmd+T too) and trims the region on the right side by positioning the mouse pointer on the cutted spot and drags it to the right. But be carefully. Only the region you want to change should be highlighted and there is 3 different symbols for trimming. If the mouse pointer is positioned in the middle (trim symbol is like an I), youre automatically trim the region next to it. If you're going with the pointer a little bit downwards, you can choose in which direction you would like to trim. The trim symbols are changing. It's not like an I anymore, but kinda like a C. A 'C' to the left or right.
By the way, Prince did not varispeed Kiss. He sang it in his real falsetto head voice, reverting to his chest voice on the last line. This is according to David Z.
Pete I didn’t respond because I don’t live on UA-cam. I have an actual life. Regardless, his voice was not sped up. It doesn’t even sound like it was sped up. And the vocal registers are: modal voice (or normal voice), vocal fry, falsetto, and the whistle register. From Wikipedia: “Beginning singers who have difficulty controlling their vocal break need to be taught to eliminate or control the physiological conditions associated with falsetto or strain in a process called "head voice." A strong falsetto is called a reinforced falsetto and a very light head voice is called voce di testa bianca or 'white head voice.' High notes that are sung with balanced physiology do tend to have better resonance than falsetto or strained notes, so this definition does not usually contradict the other two.” He’s not really singing in falsetto, which is what I meant. But I did mash the two together.

If you added "00:00:00 - (any word)" to your description it would turn all your timecodes into chapter markers on your video.

Love your vids. Just by watching this, so much more time will be saved! Always little tips and tricks that I had no clue about. Nice one!

How many years did it take you to learn Logic X Pro ?
Except when Flex-pitch regions dont match the actual audio event regions- any answers to that?
Hi, please could you make a video on how to cut parts of various songs in a one hour non stop mix and save all the various cut songs, thanks.
Once I copy and paste part of the loop into new audio track, how can I edit it without it affecting the other loop
Am not able to have access to the free logic pro cheat sheet. Please how can I get it.
Hi mate how are you
Can you do a new video about tempo please
Does anyone know how to remove a library instrument effect to a track one you try and apply one? If you don't like it how do you get it back to just the plain original recording? new to logic here so I'm sure it's an easy one and I'm just not finding it.....

When you use the mouse moving the playhead over the track we hear the recorded sound. How do I activate this in my Logic Pro X?
