That was very strange. I’ve never seen a tree do what looked like it “stepped sideways once it broke free where it was cut.” It seemed that maybe the tree you cut was possibly leaning toward the broken school marm. It sort of looked like the school marm had a tight hold on the tree you cut & maybe that’s why neither of them fell. You said the school marm was still connected at where it cracked. A solution was definitely made easier just because of those trees being next to others you could use to take them down, eliminate the hazards & not cause any other problems. Have you ever seen a school marm that was the same size or similar to a very large tree near its base & had to buck both the main part of the tree & the school marm? Excellent job Bjarne. You’re definitely a problem solver in the field & not needing any kind of help or assistance from any coworkers or helicopter. Great content, video, explanations & thanks for taking the time to capture your work with the video!!
Normally I find your videos very calm and relaxing, but in the last part here I could really feel the tension. 😅 Great job as always though, keep it up and stay safe. 👍
You can see the tree leaning up-hill at some point (go fast forward and you'll see it move). Then you totally blew out the hinge with your wedges and it jumped off the stump, turning while it fell.
Does anyone make a super thick plastic wedge? I fall trees in Texas. They aren't over 100' tall, or even 50. They don't grow straight and are incredibly irregular in their branch structure. They are usually entangled before you cut them. Double wedging sucks. I need a 2" high wedge to force short trees over.
Sounds like you need to use a splitting wedge instead of a falling wedge. The danger is that if you lift one side up too high it will pop-off the hinge and go wherever it wants to go.
Okay here's the new law passed = if a tree is judged to have serious brimstone Hazzard you will have to move at least 15 ft away before it begins to move. Keyword here is before. I know we don't have to tell you to clear a good path on those trees for your exit .😮
Blimey. I was scared for you with this one Bjarne. It was a relief to see it on the ground, and you safe.
Bjarne, you are the man. That first tree looked long. I love watching a true journeyman work. Top woodsman faller.
Tanks for taking the time❤
You got us thru that one professionally, thanks for taking us along.

Do you leave the heli-pads in place when you finish a block?

Dangerous tree to cut down, would be nice to be able to just forget that Hung Up Tree.
That timber is way over ripe, you wouldn't eat a half rotten ear of corn. Thanks for the video.
