  • People ask me all the time what camera gear I use and recommend to them to vlog and film with when they come out to Asia to also live and travel here. Unfortunately some also just assume I like vlogging with my GoPro. I wanted to make an actual guide to the best camera you should get to vlog with as a real vlogger and not just a gear reviewer or a wedding videographer recommending based on their technical specification

I have the DJI Pocket 2 as well. I got it last fall. It's an amazing little camera and the main reason why I got it was for doing hands free walking around recording via my phone. Instead of holding on it with my hand, I can clip it on a bag strap and then use my smartphone to connect to the app so I can view the footage live on my phone and control the camera from the phone as well. The stabilization is amazing. It's also inconspicuous which is nice for me because I don't like to attract too much attention with a large camera pointing around at people while walking around. With the DJI Pocket 2, it's a lot more covert and probably gets less noticed so you might be able to shoot in places were cameras are not really allowed. But obviously for self vlogging, you can't have it strapped to your chest cuz then you can't see your face or it'll be way to close so you will need to hold it out for that sort of filming.

Yeah the incognito aspect. That’s definitely a plus I forgot to mention

I use a Fuji XT4 for my photography hobby.

The Fuji xt series are great for photo. If I was only doing photo I’d be shooting Fuji too. I am actually looking for a cheap x100t used

I also have the Fuji XT3 but sadly I got the version that didn't come with stabilization which the XT4 has. So I'm mainly using the XT3 for tripod use or gimbal (Ronin). I'm more into videos than photography so the XT3 also had great video recording options at the time it was released. I'm just a novice though. It's my first ever Mirrorless camera I bought.

Awesome! Thanks for doing a video like this. I often wonder what equipment vloggers use and for what different situations. One concern of mine while traveling (not having a real set home base) would be carrying a bunch of expensive equipment around. When I would go backpacking for a month or more, I would take very little of real value.

Yes that's a very good point. Although I'd love to take my expensive full frame A7IV around, it's like painting a big target on your back... Also you need to take big tripods, gimbals etc to get the full use out of it. I'd probably take the pocket 2 and my backup drone for those situations. Also allows you to travel light and ultimately getting the shot is more important then making it beautiful. Also gotta think of the file sizes.... if it's a full frame camera I gotta take along a big 4TB hard drive which is susceptable to breaking etc...

Hi Ethan, my wife and I love your content. Not sure if this is the appropriate place to ask but here goez. We are taking a quick trip to Korea this November from USA. We wanted to know your recommendation on a place to stay in Seoul and Busan. We have 4 full days in Seoul, 3 in Busan. My wife loves shopping, I love hiking. Budget isn't to restrictive, just thinking about $40-$60USD/night for accommodation. I"ve been searching Agoda and see so many nice options. Also want to utilize the train from Seoul to Busan...not sure if that's wise with our short stay. Any thoughts? Appreciate any help. Cheers.

Hi there. I don't have any one particular place I can recommend.... I think anywhere near Hongdae is nice because lots of lines intersect there. There are so many places to shop and it cateres to different people so it all depends on what she is going to shop and what style she wants. ie hongdae is great for shopping but they tend to sell only 2 standard korean women sizes and cater for younger styles only. Hiking can be done anywhere but if you want a challenge do Bukhansan or if you want an intermediate hike with great views I'd recommend Gwanaksan. taking a train to busan is not bad. It'll take around 3 hrs by train but since your trip is only 7 days it's still wasting about 2 days unless you like nightlife
