Great video. Big Xinomavros to try: Earth and Sky-Thimiopoylos vineyards, boutari 1879 legacy, diaporos-Kir Yianni vineyards, Dalamara Naoussa red, are amongst the best
Gregory Porto fantastic Gregory, thanks much for the recommendations and sharing knowledge of the good wines to try. I personally still have many to try if not most of those. I only remember Boutari’s which was fantastic. See you soon again for the next episode. I must do an episode on Nemea now 😅🍷 santé 👍🏻🥂
THANKS a million Yuchen 🙏🙏🙏🙏🙏🙏🙏 Sorry i had missed you comment earlier. This is the kindest greatest comment I've ever had! I'm very grateful. TY very much for the support. Hope you enjoy some other videos on the channel, and hoping I'll see you around with thoughts and feedback soon 🥂🥂😃👍
If anyone is looking for wine information while relaxing I'd suggest you try out Wine asmr. Excellent UA-cam channel with elegant sounds and a lot of educational content 🍷❤️
thank you for this video, honor for us to watch through you our grapes, xynomavro has typically the taste of tommato also and its difficult variety grows only in the north greece in macedonia, in 4 places naoussa , amyntaio , rapsani , goumenissa . At nemea you will find the agiorgitiko grape , also if you didnt taste it try and taste from domaine dalamaras 'paliokalias' and from thymiopoulos domaine ' gi kai ouranos' which means earth and sky
Excellent man. Thank you for this great info and suggestions :-) Haven't tasted that many Greek wines, but all are great memories. Wish I could have access to more of them. tx again man for taking the time to provide valuable info 🍷😀🙏👍
Thank you for filling us with great information Julien :) The description of the Xynomavro was inviting and will be on my "watch for" list. Do you maybe know anything about Slovenian wines as well?
thank you Nejc 😀 no I don't. I don't think I've actually ever tried any. I know this sort of 'alternative' regions like Croatia or Slovenia are somewhat trendy. I'm starting to collab with a UK wine merchant so there might be opportunities to look into those and taste some. What's your point of interest for them? Want would you like to know, or what should I taste you think?
@@UA-camJulien Well, i am from Slovenia. :) currently living in Prague, but will hopefully go back home soon. I am also wanting to learn about wine in general so i will be able to share the wine from my region with people and make them aware about it :) for now, i am just asking around how much my region is even known in the wine world :)
@@nejcpilih well, I've heard about it as I studied wine quite deeply through a WSET Diploma. Slovenia is mentioned in this kind of courses, but not studied into any detail or any wines tasted. It's down to personal interest, some people investigate Slovenian wine for a reason or another if they've heard about it but it's not generally speaking much on the general wine map that much. Will have to do something about this then! Perhaps one of those short videos with key figures and facts?
@@UA-camJulien Niiicce video on one of the world's unheralded wine grapes. We always bring them to blind tastings with Barolo and have fooled quite a few people.
Hey Julien! Interesting information about Xinomavro. I think 3 minutes is a great length for a "wine school" video. The dominant fruit flavour for Xinomavro mono-varietals is generally sun-dried tomato. I hope you get to try some soon - it is a lovely wine. A very unique tasting experience!
thanks much Annabelle 😀 I think so too, it flows well. Hard to get all information in in such a short format like the main flavors. Thanks for this by the way, but I guess one has to make more short videos, that's all. Would love to try more. Wrote a quick message to the Wines of Greece bureau, hopefully they respond positively and help with that!? Merci encore 🥂
fascinating stuff Julien. Short videos work the best....however, I'd would like to see you with a bit more dynamism in your vids and a few more camera angles...Alas I'm not very successful at this and you are super famous...soooh maybe your current method is the best?
Cheers Philip. No, thanks for the feedback. I still have a lot to learn and improve, getting better over time, but there certainly are things to work on so I appreciate you taking the tim eto give your perspectives. Trying to be as energetic as I can be without being fake. One can only do him/herself! Camera angles can be tricky to implement. thanks much man :-) see you soon with more wine videos...
Nope, dry wine is just vinegar. Always have to laugh how all so called "wine experts" push dry wines. Drink that yourself not following that trend. Give me a glass of Samos or Mavrodaphne keep your vinegar

Julien Miquel Nice idea! Also keep in mind that boutari has many different Xinomavro botlings! Sante, Yiamas!
@@Gregory637 Sure, would be fascinating to find different Xinomavro by the same producer, different terroirs and such to compare them. Cheers G.
The best wine educator on UA-cam👍

French? I thought you were Spanish? Catalan specifically? Your name's Catalan isn't it or Basque?
Why so short 😂
