    You can get rid of the hollow sound of the stock by filling it full of cloth. It's weather tight so you won't get moisture up in it. Anything cloth (I just used on old shirt) can be removed if you need to remove the stock.

    I know this is a old video but just wanted to say you should not take the brass jag off when seating the polymer tip bullets because your pushing straight down on the tip of the bullet if you do and it can cause the tip to be deformed and hurt accuracy. That’s why new bullet starters now come with different tips depending on type of bullets used.great videos you always give so much information. Be safe and live free

    Have an old style T/C Impact, which is great. Ordered the Optima given the price point and quick breech plug. Have heard nothing but good things for the most part.

    If you still have the muzzleloader i suggest looking into thor hammer lightning bullets. They are full bore bullets with a pellet like skirt that when the powder ignites swells out the skirt into the rifling and makes a very nice fit to the bore. If you have a .50 barrel might as well use all of it with the bullets. I never really understood why they decided to make a .50 cal rifle and fire .45 cal bullets through them wrapped in a plastic cup. The skirted bullet technology has been around in air rifles for decades, why didnt they start making more full bore .50 cal bullets? Way more grain to be utilized and more grain means better stability in most cases and more kinetic energy.

    13:04 When you remove the jag, are you sure you have enough rod to seat the load properly? It seems the rod may be bottoming out at the palm saver. Your thoughts?

      Yes sir, take 209 primer out of breech plug, unscrew said breech plug and then use your ramrod and push bullet and powder out the breech,

    • @Shawnwyatt101
      @Shawnwyatt101 Рік тому +2

      Remove breech plug and drop out pellets. Then push the bullet through the barrel. Or you can just remove the primer and leave the rest loaded, just keep in mind that the pellets will eventually start eating away at your barrel.

    The end of your rod you can get bullet pushers that fit your bullet and keeps from messing up the tip of your bullets you can get a kit that has brass tips that fit hollow point bullets and some for polymer tip bullets they are like four different ones for different types of bullets and they come in a zip up bag made of nylon fabric that will go on your belt .

    The new rifles don't allow the jag to be screwed into the end of the rod opposite the palm swell. You have to remove the palm swell to screw the jag into that end. I'm not sure I like that feature.

    Funny. Never heard of Toad's Black Powder Cleaner. Wonder if it's not just some liquid with green food coloring? Heard of so many black powder users, using ammonia based cleaners; and wouldn't be surprised if the product were made of something related.

      @@Bullets4Bucks go grab a bottle of blackhorn 209, federal shotshell 209 primers, and the blackhorn 209 breech plug. I killed a doe at 315 yards last year with my Optima v2, BH 209 powder, federal shotshel, BH209 breech, 300gr Hornady SST. With that setup you can clean the gun with 1 wet and 1 dry patch or 3 dry patches. I can also get 6 consecutive shots before cleaning.

    I own four different CVA's everything from Wolf to Accura PR and LR and CVA does not recommend sabot rounds because the plastic fowls the rifling for the best performance use powerbelt with black horn powder and with my Paramount and LR rifles use ELR bullets with an LR barrel make sure the rifling matches the bullet.
