1:02:13 In case anyone is curious, the "Unusual Doll" was added into the game while it was still in early access to thank Markiplier for the support he gave the game. There's also an easter egg for Jacksepticeye (an eyeball floating in a tank of green liquid) for the same reason. Also, on the game case of the final release (at least for PS4) they included a quote from Jacksepticeye's playthrough about how much he liked the game. I think it's really fun that the developer's thanked creators in that way and kept in all in the final release. Also super fun that you found at least one of them on accident! I haven't finished the video yet, but I always love finding new Subnautica content to watch and already can't wait for a 200 days! Honestly as they were an indie studio at that time, both jack and mark's shoutout really helped them. Or who knows where this gem would have been without that kind of start. Loved this playthrough. There are in-game Easter egg references to a couple prominent youtubers, most notably Markiplier and Jacksepticeye. They both covered the game extensively during it's development, alpha and beta stages, and by raising awareness for the game, helped the developers finish it. I think at one stage the developers were running out of money and going to shelve the project, but increased interest due to Mark and Jack covering the game kept it on track.

Shrimpy was a good suit. He was loyal. Tough. He saw many missions and even battled to the death with a ghost leviathan he became so feared amongst the ghost levitation population that the next time he fought one it ran in fear earning it the name "coward worm". At the end of shrimpys life he was sadly crushed to death by a rough moonpool. His son. Shrimpy Jr. Was brave enough to lay his father to rest in the shrimpy way. With a mcslap. Rest in peace shrimpy mcslap. May your parts never rust.
It’s been years and I’ve still not completed my first proper play through of the game. The Sea Emperor Mother is so gentle and kind and I just… can’t make myself leave the planet. She’s so lovely
34:35 if anyone is interested, that transmission is a sort of Easter Egg. It’s Appsro from the Neebs gaming channel. The channel made an excellent cinematic series early on in subnautica, so the devs added them in. I love small touches like that from passionate devs in touch with their base.
Tiny correction; the big boi you saw in the thermal/lava area was actually the sea dragon leviathan, which is extremely close in resemblance to the sea emperor leviathan, so much so, that they look nearly identical. It's been many years since I last played Subnautica, so I'm not sure if it was actually the sea emperor or the sea dragon that escaped from containment at the thermal base, but I would wager it was the sea dragon. Thank you for the amazing video, as always!
It was neither that escaped the disease research facility. While it isn't confirmed which creature escaped the point of that was to note that they ALMOST avoided the infection getting released on that planet (Which it wasn't at the time the disease facility was attacked) But since 1 specimen escaped the research facility it did get out and then spread too quickly to be stopped. They definitely didn't have a Sea Dragon specimen there since they are so chonking huge, and they couldn't have had a baby yet since the reason the Sea Dragon mama attacked the facility was because they had just taken a sea dragon egg.
little bit more correction: the sea dragon didnt escape the research facility, it smashed it up because they stole its eggs. Also, the one subject unaccounted for was 1 remaining alien who does have an effect on the story in the second game.
@@jadeisagoober Alan is not what that is referring to. He specifically states in the second game that the disease was released on the planet due to a decision he made (Stealing the Egg). The escaped subject would be a test subject that had been infected with the disease and failed to be purged as the facility was destroyed. That is the story of how the disease was released on 4546b since we know it originated in Architect space.
A solid survival game that gives you thalassophobia, all the while having some of the most amazing and immersive music imaginable! Such a spectacular game.
tbf, I think it less 'gives' you thalassophobia than reveals the fact that a lot of us just have a pretty innate fear of deep unknown ocean environments, which makes sense bc it ticks a lot of boxes for things that make us scared. it doesn't scare people who don't really have any fear of the ocean or of ocean creatures, I remember people getting a marine biologist to play this and trying to scare him by getting him to go to the void. every Leviathan he came across he was like "oh, that's cool, thanks guys 😊" absolutely wild
Subnautica always produces the best blind play through series. The initial nothingness and learning required to experience the world - the constant horror and excitement roller coaster of emotions - just the chefs kiss of video games
I really must say that I love these 100 days (and 200 and...) videos! They are incredibly well made, condense a lot of gameplay, and are very entertaining. So thank you and I really hope you don't stop with these.
Sea dragons - the big thing in the lava area - are easily the derpiest creature in the game. They have a really, really good leadup, finding reaper leviathan skeletons they leave in the mountain entrance to the lost river and the upper lava zone, hearing their roars in the distance and seeing the damage one dealt to the disease research facility as well as its remains outside that cavern, but then you encounter them and they just kind of wheel around the cave and clip through the walls. Such a funny creature.
I'd say they are often glitchy. They can be really aggressive and do some considerable fire damage if they do not glitch into this weird calm half-stuck mode. Two out of three times I've had them quite inclined to attack. Regardless of their attack mode, they keep going through the walls, sometimes even through the central (facility) mountain in the big lava cavern.
Your 100 days videos are great, and I am so excited to see you playing one of my favorite games! Can't to see you reactions to some of my favorite parts of this wonderful game! 10/10 ad transition
Your narration makes your videos so funny and watchable, I usually can't handle longer videos without a secondary activity because of ADHD but I can actually just sit and watch your vids they're so great
To be totally honest I always passed over this game as I saw it done by some of the huge gaming UA-camrs that I just wasn’t the biggest fan of and their fandoms usually blow it into super popularity so I just wasn’t able to discern if it was actually a good game or just hype. This is the first game play of it I’ve ever watched and it’s beautiful. The foraging crafting mechanics are amazing and look like so much fun. The environments are gorgeous… even just the sun light shining into the first few meters of water are gorgeous. And the horror aspects are very well done. I’d always assumed the UA-cam reaction screams were way overdone and some are but it’s truly creepy. I just bought this and subzero and I can’t wait to start. Thank you, honestly. I was being cynical and I would’ve missed a beautiful game otherwise.
What is a ocean without a wave? A beginning without an end? They are different but they go together. Now you fly among the stars. And I fall among the sand. We are different but we go together. - The Sea Emperor. R.I.P
If you loved it - check out "outer wilds". It has a lot of vibes like sybnautica but without survival eliment to it. But don't read anything about it, not even discription - just start playing fully blind.
They intentionally give you a lot of time because it's expected that you scope out the area early and get sucked into exploring the new region and the QEP. It is kind of a funny interaction to just miss the whole event.
Every time I see one of your videos its an instant watch. Always a banger. Even if I have 0 idea about subnautica I know damn well this is gonna be great
Shrimp Mcslap was a great prawn and some may say the greatest. Twas an unfortunate loss that day of which he became trapped by a moon pool and never to be seen again. A worthy life lived and a brave honor it has been to have been blessed by your presence. Now continue in whatever lies next for the courageous Shrimp McSlap.
Floydson I loved this video. The unusual doll you found around day 50 is a reference to Markiplier because he covered this game a lot during its early access development.

You’re funny, and you’re personality is just great, the narration is perfect, and you also know when to let the game speak for itself. You really deserve so many more subs than you have. Happy to say you’re probably one of my fave channels out there ♥️
Yeah he's great. Sadly I don't think anyone can make a boring game interesting but I like this game so he does a really well job making it look even more interesting and attractive.
When you talked about your kids, that was so sweet and I audibly went "aww". The love is so heartwarming. Anyhoo, I can see how it may be confusing, but to clarify: there are multiple leviathans and the one you saw in the lava tunnels was not the Sea Emperor, but a Sea Dragon. The Sea Emperor is the lovely telepathic momma, who was the only one left until the eggs hatched. Also, it's too bad that you missed the Sunbeam being shotdown, the gun activation at the landing site is pretty cool. I love all your 1/2/300 days videos and enjoy replaying them to have in the background as I grind a game. It's awesome that you're getting sponsors now! My Time at Portia and the sibling game My Time at Sandrock are sort of like Stardew, except you work on a workshop instead of a farm, 3D, and with some voice acting. So if that sounds interesting to you, I'd recommend! I've only done the demo of Sandrock, though I've been meaning to actually get it, so I can't say much about the characters and story. However, I do know Portia and the story/dialogue of one of the characters' endings made me cry, she's so precious and I love her :) Anyways, keep up the amazing work!
Oh my god! I have been craving another Floydson upload. I even checked your channel the other day to make sure I didn't miss it. Perfect way to pass some time while on night shift at work. This game is brilliant too, so excited to see more of it already!
the large ghost leviathan is in the dead zone and was the large thing you brushed against. its bigger then the reaper leviathan that destroyed your seamoth. Also the thing you called sea Emperor was the sea Dragon leviathan that escaped. Sea Emperor is the female alien that asked what you were.
My most obscure self-discovered Subnautica fact is that if you know your route, you can get all the way from the Great Tree (which is a very popular deep base spot for obvious reasons) to the surface using only one max-capacity air tank and your Seaglide. I was deliberately leaving a dedicated super-deep Seamoth down there, and figured I could get back without it if I packed a spare tank, but that turned out superfluous. ETA: You inspired a replay so I went and did it again so I could have all three vehicles in Lost River. It's really not a bad swim, especially now that I know raw Bladderfish give 15 seconds O2 and could just pack a few of those in case I had my timings wrong, but Great Tree -> Blood Kelp Trench -> Surface seems pretty reliable. I did forget how absurdly high you have to build if you want to have a Great Tree moonpool that your Seamoth can use, but you also inspired me to use my stasis rifle, a couple small holes, and a hot knife to kill the Bone Fields Ghost Levi, which also is an absurdly pretty place to build, and more importantly like 100m less deep. Anyway, I hope my Cyclops likes it down here; it is never leaving again.
Found this channel about 2 weeks ago, and i would like to thank you for ruining my sleep by making me addicted to these 100days series! Keep up the good work ! :D
I subbed just because I NEED to see "100 Days" Subnautica 2 played by you! I never finished either games because who has the time but 1 hour 50 min is totally worth it! Plus you did some great storytelling/commenting that makes it even better.
@@penguingamer1374 man guys like you, especially pretending that you know their lives, are obnoxious. If they said they dont have time, fucking believe it. Playing a game requires commitment wether per day or per week. What's the use of playing this game for an hour when you dont plan on getting it back cuz life busy atm or have plans? Among other things? So obnoxiously unnecessary to tell "wHaT dO yOu MeAn" like you know our life everytime someone says "I dont have time to playgames"
@@penguingamer1374 I mean I really don’t get time to play either. My play sessions are so far apart I always forget what I was doing or how to do it once I get back to a game. So I mostly just stick with more chill games. I have a 3 year old, job, house and husband so half the time I even think I might play I end up falling asleep at my pc desk lol. Some people just don’t get as much time to play as others, and they’d rather watch an hour long recap of someone else. I had preordered TotK and it was the first Zelda game since before OoT that I didn’t play on release. I had it and I still haven’t opened it. But I know the whole story and watched all cutscenes and a ton of gameplay because i at least wanted to feel like I didn’t miss out completely.
@@penguingamer1374some people don't have time to play a game, maybe because they don't have time to sit in front of a computer for so long. Most people are going somewhere or sit and do stuff where you can listen to something without needing to look. Ofc, some people work on a computer screen and therefore having to look at a computer scene for even longer. I only play games that I can save at any time, because if I don't then I kniw I'll loose progress because I'm kind of busy being an adult who has to cook, clean and look after pets, so I watch/listen to videos of games I find interesting on my way back and forth from work (I bike and do not drive cars, so I do it as safely as I can)
This was so good! Just so you know though, the big telepathic creature is the sea emperor and the one you were calling the emperor is the sea dragon- I think.
Just few corrections that I just feel like adding. 1. You see a adult Ghost leviathan at 1:10:45 not later on because the adults are to big for the cave that their young grow up in they also act like the map border. 2.The SeaEmperor and SeaDragon are 2 different species that are biologicaly similar. The SeaDragons hunt Reaper Leviathans which are the 1st leviathan monster you saw near the Aurora and breathe fire well the SeaEmperors are krill eaters with telepathy. Similarities are why the aliens were investigating the SeaDragon to see if they were also capable of producing the cure. Finally a SeaDragon mother looking for her egg attacked the disease research facility that unleashed the disease, the creature that escapeed is never stated. 3. The teleporting guys (Warpers) we're biorganic machines designed a hunt down the infected.
these videos cure my depression tbh! also. you wee so close to getting the story 100% right but the hostile big mommas are called sea dragon leviathans whilst the nice big momma is a sea emperor leviathan! thank u so much for another upload my dude, (almost) 2 hours well spent

They’re so enjoyable and all of them are fun to watch. Editing and narrating is top notch! Never stop making videos please! 😅
IDK what it is about Floydson man, but whenever I see him put out a new video, I am genuinely excited to watch. Love the content man, I'm looking forward to the next Don't Starve installment.
I will say, you are one of the best youtuber I've ever started watching, all of the wit and fun that goes into your videos is amazing and this game is also such a banger! Your commentary is top class and your attitude is even higher than that. Your videos are the ones I look forward to watching whenever they get uploaded, you really are great!
Honestly, this is the kind of game that even though I've played through it, and watched multiple people play through it, it's still always a joy to watch how everyone handles things differently, and yet at the same time we all do some of the same things. I think most of the playthroughs I've seen, as well as my first one, everyone has built their main base in more or less the same area, even though there's so many places you could build it, lol.
I literally can't be bored with this guy. Floydson produces peaceful yet intriguing content like a true mastermind! Make a subnautica 2 video and I'm bound for my first UA-cam membership to any channel ever!
45:30 you missed PDA at first Degasi base which holds coordinates to the 500m one. It is in the first room in the locker with half-closed door next to water filtration machine.
Hey Floydson, I love your content and I wanted to mention you're a natural when it comes to keeping our attention the entire way through the 100 days. Btw I'd recommend checking out "Grounded", it seems like the type of game you'd enjoy playing and I've personally had a lot of fun playing it.

Am i the only one highly annoyed that he missed the sun beam event? Like bro was given 45 minutes and still missed it. You cant even put 10 minutes aside to not get distracted and go over there.
Just love it... A great video with great commentary... It was awesome to watch the journey after so long... I Was truly moved by the story again... Thank you for being the amazing UA-camr that you are and please continue to make more fantastic content as you did up untill now... ❤
The "Mars Attacks" reference literally made me spit my drink out. 😂. Subnautica is one of my fave games and I've played it many times. Never did I notice the Mars Attacks similarity. Now I can't unsee it. 😂. Brilliant!
The thing that attacked the Degasi was a Reaper Leviathan, also the leviathan that escaped alien containment was the Sea Emperor Leviathan, and the Sea Dragon Leviathan is the fire-ball shooting lava zone dwelling Leviathan.
Everything was so calm and relaxing, im having quite a leisurely time listening and watching how you were progressing. That is…UP UNTIL 46:58! you made me scream and jump up from my seat, mr floydson!! I paused the freaking video to yell at you, but will continue with the fun stuff! Thanks for such excellent work.
Can you also list how long it took to play 100 days in the game? Awesome content by the way! I was interested in this game, but it felt such a chore to play it myself, so watching you play and narrate everything is amazing!

I cannot express how much I love this game, and how I always appreciate people playing it for the first time. This was a really good video and thank you for putting the time in for it.
Absolutely amazing journey! I fell in love with the game once again and I found another great content creator. Your commentary was so entertaining. What a beautiful ending with the Sea Emperor. I'm definitely gonna watch your other playthroughs
Awesome play-through. You make a good commentary and storyteller. Mindless ramble, interesting though: i play this game a couple times a year for a few weeks at a time. I love this game. I think I played 4 times all the way through this time around. I figured out with the right combination of the Modification Station (for both depth upgrades), the Seamoth depth module mk1 from the Aurora or made using the Moonpool vehicle upgrade panel that you can do the whole of shutting down the gun by curing the Karaa virus in about 22 minutes thus saving the Sunbeam. This means making the portal and creating the hatching enzyme. Going two times to the Shallows spawn and back to the Mushroom region to the west with the Seaglide. It could be done super fast with a Cyclops nearby, or a base near one of the portal areas, or even inside the Sea Emperor's habitat, but I was trying to challenge myself. I think with only the the Seamoth depth upgrade mk1 and the Modification station built I could get to the Jellyshroom caves and the Degasi 250 m base collect items and build the upgrades in time with only lots of titanium saved at base in about 30-32 minutes. That will be a fun trial next time. Fun fact. If you wait too long to shut off the gun the Sunbeam still gets destroyed even with the gun off and the timer just goes into negative numbers and does not seem to leave. Original reason I posted to this video: One thing I still hate about this game is not being able to deconstruct those floating chests. They are garbage within the first few moments of having a base.
I'm so glad you had a war thunder add in this video, you deserve it, especially for all the work this video must have taken. I'm only at 1 hour with 40+ minutes to go, and i already know I'm going to be dying to see you do day 200 and 300 like you did with graveyard keeper (my favorite series to date so far by the way, it made me buy the game on switch) Anyways I hope you revist this sometime to do another episode, whether it fits the "100 day" mold or not i feel isn't a big deal. I mean anyone whose actually counting can go jump in a lake and cool off lol Anyways thanks again for the amazing videos, I hope you hit 1,000,000 subs by the end of 2023!!!!

It’s been years and I’ve still not completed my first proper play through of the game. The Sea Emperor Mother is so gentle and kind and I just… can’t make myself leave the planet. She’s so lovely
Don't keep reading if you don't want a Spoiler!!!
The sea emperor unfortunately passes away when you hatch her young
you should tough, you can still go back to the last save and you'll have the chance of leaving a time capsule for other players
the sea emperor is technically canonically genderless
Why don't you marry her.

34:35 if anyone is interested, that transmission is a sort of Easter Egg. It’s Appsro from the Neebs gaming channel. The channel made an excellent cinematic series early on in subnautica, so the devs added them in. I love small touches like that from passionate devs in touch with their base.
And let's not forget, they're the origin of the "99999 hours" joke as well. Their series was a goldmine.
Thank you for scratching my correction itch.
little bit more correction: the sea dragon didnt escape the research facility, it smashed it up because they stole its eggs.
@@shortwave737 thanks for the epic lore
You sure have it right with the music, it's my favourite of all time.

There is nothing i love more than to see people experience this game for the first time
Subnautica always produces the best blind play through series. The initial nothingness and learning required to experience the world - the constant horror and excitement roller coaster of emotions - just the chefs kiss of video games
@Calus’s Selected exactly, its my way of vicariously living those experiences again since i cant have them myself
Ive experience it for the first time 3 times.

Watching the Reaper clip with the murky water and watching him surface behind the Aurora immediately made my adrenaline go off
I really must say that I love these 100 days (and 200 and...) videos!
They are incredibly well made, condense a lot of gameplay, and are very entertaining.
So thank you and I really hope you don't stop with these.
Him complaining it’s to dark
The cyclops with headlights that he didn’t use once
He was being a regular goose on the loose

How you liking the game?

They intentionally give you a lot of time because it's expected that you scope out the area early and get sucked into exploring the new region and the QEP. It is kind of a funny interaction to just miss the whole event.
Every time I see one of your videos its an instant watch. Always a banger. Even if I have 0 idea about subnautica I know damn well this is gonna be great

However, I do know Portia and the story/dialogue of one of the characters' endings made me cry, she's so precious and I love her :) Anyways, keep up the amazing work!
i Find it cool seeing the exxplosion from a distance too, haha.

@@AAJInnie also, if they can take over 100 minutes just to randomly watch a youtube video, I'm sure they can play subnautica for an hour or something.
Lava squid was the dragon, one in containment that spoke was Emperor♡
Plus, the one who took out the Degassi Habitat was a Reaper Leviathan.
@@GedanJ I thought so! Thanks 💕
Yeah I got things CONFUSED haha! Thank you for the clarification!

I'm only at 1 hour with 40+ minutes to go, and i already know I'm going to be dying to see you do day 200 and 300 like you did with graveyard keeper (my favorite series to date so far by the way, it made me buy the game on switch)
Anyways I hope you revist this sometime to do another episode, whether it fits the "100 day" mold or not i feel isn't a big deal. I mean anyone whose actually counting can go jump in a lake and cool off lol
