Section 107 of the Copyright Act provides the statutory framework for determining whether something is a fair use and identifies certain types of uses-such as criticism, comment, news reporting, teaching, scholarship, and research-as examples of activities that may qualify as fair use. The poetry in their songs warrant the reading of the lyrics as you listen to them at least once with each song. Peace/JT

Love this version, it's called unplugged for a reason, no studio dubs just raw. Cover of David Bowie but just as good probably better. Legend

It’s about coming into contact with a younger version of yourself.
    From a more innocent time.
He sold the world meaning he sold his soul

MTV Unplugged was supposed to feature trending rock artists performing acoustic versions of their hit songs. They called it unplugged, but Cobain was still plugged in. You can see the pick up mounted in the sound-hole on his guitar. The line of sight to his effects pedals is obscured by a potted plant! [grin] Pearl Jam and Alice In Chains appeared on the show back then too. I think the song is about the ways artists struggle to preserve their integrity and authenticity in confrontation with music industry pressure to sell out.

I don't like this version. Kurt Cobain's voice is like nails on a chalkboard, and it's extremely difficult for others to do David Bowie songs justice when covering them. That's good that you are also listening to the original song performed by Bowie which is excellent. I would recommend the Bowie live on SNL version with Klaus Nomi on backing vocals from 1979.
