Lead Belly was a black American folk singer and song writer from the 1920's and 1930's.

Lovely but haunting song. (my dad owned this record and Kurt, the singer, took his own life half a year later)

I just found you tonight and I scrolled through all of your videos and I was surprised to see you hadn’t reacted to my absolute favorite artist of all time. Rob Zombie. Such a long history of great music. You can look up Rob Zombie official music video and you would pick a winner but my personal favorites are “Everybody Scream” and “Dead City Radio”. I honestly think you would have a lot of fun with either one of those songs. Also, you gained yourself a new subscriber tonight!

Leadbelly didn't actually write/compose this song; it was an old folk song when he was young ... ! There were and are lots of different versions around. You'll probably get some very fanciful explanations of what the song is 'really' all about ... ! 'Crime of passion'? Could be ... or not .......
Funny they are talking about lead bellys guitar being expensive but the guitar Kurt used here sold for 3.5 million last year he would be rolling in his grave if he knew that 😆😆😆
