Thank you for explaining this, because weighing yourself too much can really mess with you head especially if you are just starting a healthy lifestyle journey. The scale shooting up or down suddenly is not fat loss. It's usually water and a food baby.

I'm not sure you can conclude that a flat trend is necessarily a bad trend for all people. If someone is eating a healthy diet at a caloric deficit for weight loss and is also new to the gym doing weight training 5 days a week you may see a flat line trend for an extended period of time before the trend starts downward again. You will notice physical and appearance "gains" toward your goal, but the trend will not be downward. New lifters can experience muscle and strength gains temporarily even at a deficit with the right plan. Net, sometimes no action is required with a flat line trend....just keep grinding! Great video!

Totally get that. Loved your video. That is what happened in the last 3 weeks. I am tracking my calories and any overeats. I had and have binge eating issues. I gained a lot of fat. Last year I lost one stone and gained a pants size. Was gutted and it dropped my confidence I had increased my body fat. Thanks for explaining this. I wasn't at a deficit at times. Keeping a food diary revealed I overate. I am slightly better now. Composition is important regardless of the weight, I discovered that same trend doing this. Before I was going up and down and my highest high had increased due to the binges I would have seen this if I had not been too scared to weigh in. That said a bad binge week can create an increasing trend over 2 stop the habit and then start once more. Thomas is right the two declining highest highs have reflected in a half an inch lost off my measurements. Very reassuring video.

Bust 39” waist 26” hips 39” 5’4 female 19% body fat but I couldn’t run a mile today to save my life lmao. It just shows that measurements are not a complete picture of fitness & even less a mere scale. Please please go by how your body feels for more complete fitness assessment. 😊

I just found the info about you and your wife. I have been dealing all my life with IBS and migraines headache. I am so frustrated because I have try a lot of diets to lose belly fat and build muscle to avoid future injuries in my elderly years and I am not getting younger and that skinny fat still there.. I workout everyday with weights. I would like an advise, please.
There are tons of trainers that just look for the money and don’t care for the goals of the clients, so it is hard to believe in the trainers at the gym.

such a shame I did not see this before! I did 4 weeks of smoothies, exercise n fish oil and in 4th week everything seemed to be bloated and going horribly wrong. I stopped n tried to rectify.. grrr n now I am back to fish oil & going to jump head on into smoothies again. damn obviously I had done a lot of exercising in my 4th week n was extremely bloated.. felt like I lost all the gains of 3weeks but even a month later.. I still have the gains from 3weeks but haven't shifted much in size since..damn I wasted a month trying to figure out y I was bloated!

I heard from some plant based doctors like Dr Fuhrman that when you buy fish oil it is probably already rancid. I stick to chia and flax seeds.

why not just take an average?
An average would still be taking into consideration the food in the gut as he mentioned. By taking the lowest it is more meaningful as it is probably the day and time of that week on which you had the least excess matter in the body and hence the difference can be attributed most reliably to body fat alone.
